Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to explore the ubiquitous role of the smartphone in expanding entrepreneurial opportunity among women in emerging Asia. This study attempted to explore the hidden issues behind increased innovative entrepreneurial tendency.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used a mixed research methodology. First, prior research based on different aspects of entrepreneurial tendency was reviewed in a systematic way. Second, a person-administered survey was conducted based on 265 women who are involved in entrepreneurial activities in different regions in Asia. Structural equation modeling (Amos) is used to analyze the person-administered survey.
Findings
Results show a significant relationship among the independent and dependent variables of the study which indicates a significant entrepreneurship opportunity for women in emerging Asia.
Research limitations/implications
This study was conducted with a limited number of entrepreneurs from a few Asian countries which may affect the generalizability of the result.
Originality/value
This study fulfills the gap in the current literature by analyzing innovativeness in entrepreneurship with the usage of smartphones and increased tendency among women to conduct business.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of social support (SS) on job performance (JP) through the mediating role of organizational commitment (OC) and innovative work behavior (IWB) as well as the moderating role of innovative climate (IC).
Design/methodology/approach
The present research used a self-report questionnaire from a sample of 694 full-time employees in the Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test studied hypotheses.
Findings
The findings revealed that a high level of social support at work could enhance employees’ job performance. The findings also indicated that this positive relationship was partially mediated by organizational commitment and innovative work behavior. Besides, an innovative climate strengthened the positive association between social support and innovative work behavior.
Practical implications
The result of this study provides practical implications for the contemporary human resource (HR) management practice and policy in organizations. Organizations may have an enduring HR policy to strengthen robust social support to enhance employees’ job performance at work.
Originality/value
Perhaps, the largest benefit of this research is that the research provided statistical evidence of the relational values between a system of variables to add to the limited academic literature available on the subject. While plenty of literature suggested that social support played a crucial role in organizational commitment, innovative work behavior, and job performance, the researchers failed to determine if a moderating role of innovative climate existed between social support and innovative work behavior. This study filled the gap in literature by introducing that a moderation exists of IC between SS and IWB instead of using SS and IWB as separate factors.

Purpose
The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of GHRM practices on employer branding among firms in developed and developing economies.
Design/methodology/approach
This study applied a cross-sectional survey for 234 respondents. The sample was derived from multiple databases consisting of firms in developed and developing countries.
Findings
The analysis indicates that green competence building practices and green performance management practices are positively related to environmental reputation and hence employer brand. Green employee involvement is exceptional because it has a more positive influence on environmental reputation in developed economies.
Originality/value
This study is cross-national in nature and compares GHRM practices in developed and developing economies.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of pro-environmental behavior (PEB) research within higher education institutions (HEIs), highlighting current trends and future challenges.
Design/methodology/approach
Using 198 journal articles from the Web of Science, the study conducts co-citation, bibliographic coupling and co-word analyses to map influential publications and forecast trends.
Findings
The co-citation analysis revealed three distinct clusters: value-driven environmental behavior, intention-based environmental behavior and green organizational practices and employee PEB. The bibliographic coupling and the co-word analysis revealed more nuanced clusters, holistically identifying academic activities towards PEB. The authors conclude that more strategic and PEB-oriented HEI’s actions are crucial due to the social responsibility of the universities for sustainable development.
Originality/value
This paper provides valuable insights into the expanding area of PEB research and climate leadership empowerment within HEIs. The practical implications of this research are significant for HEIs. It guides the creation of effective policies and interventions to foster sustainable behavior and reduce environmental harm. The study shows the development of educational programs and campaigns promoting sustainable practices among individuals and communities, emphasizing the role of HEIs in cultivating a sustainability-conscious generation.

Abstract
In this research, we magnify the role of hybrid leadership style in facing uncertain turbulence in the market. Due to the rapid change in innovation and other macroeconomic developments, the already existing market turbulence has become uncertain. This uncertainty has further been accentuated by recent events like COVID-19 and Russia–Ukraine invasion. One solution that is crucial in facing this uncertainty is effective leadership. However, taking the wide groups of individuals present in the market into account, this leadership has to be tailored for each, and this is where the topic for this research, hybrid leadership style to face uncertain market turbulence, comes to play. Here, we gather the existing roles of different leadership styles in different businesses that help in facing the uncertainties and explore the possibilities of new ones. This work can therefore act as a guide to practice hybrid leadership style during market turbulences where following a single specific style may prove unhelpful or lead to dissatisfaction and even aggravation.

Abstract
This study investigates the ubiquitous business model and e-commerce strategy of WeChat as a platform. The potential of WeChat as a tool for sustainable entrepreneurial development has received limited attention from researchers. The purpose of this study is to uncover the hidden issues associated with WeChat's role in e-commerce development. It also examines the opportunities and limitations of using WeChat for e-commerce. The study employs a qualitative research approach, including an extensive literature review and ethnographic study. The results demonstrate that leveraging mobile apps like WeChat can greatly enhance entrepreneurial tendencies and foster sustainable entrepreneurship, thus contributing to poverty eradication in emerging nations.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate whether socially responsible businesses with corporate social expenditure are less prone to engaging in tax avoidance. The study also examines whether political connections moderate the association between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and tax avoidance.
Design/methodology/approach
The study uses ordinary least squares to analyse the panel data of all 30 listed banks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange covering 2012 to 2020. The study uses a set of alternative variables to check the robustness of the findings.
Findings
Confirming the corporate culture theory, the study findings indicate that the higher the firms’ CSR expenditure, the lower the tax avoidance. Contrarily, the moderating effect of political connection weakens the role of CSR in tax avoidance, implying that political relation makes the firms socially irresponsible. Besides, the findings document that firms with strong political connections are more likely to be tax aggressive by weakening the role of CSR. The findings imply that firms with weaker political connections are more socially responsible than firms with strong political ties.
Research limitations/implications
The study provides the bank management and regulatory bodies valuable insights to take necessary actions so that they can easily monitor whether the banks follow their instructions regarding CSR and tax payments. As the politicians make the firm socially irresponsible, the regulatory bodies and bank management should not keep them or their relatives on the board.
Originality/value
The study contributes to the CSR and tax avoidance literature considering the moderating role of political connections in Bangladesh banking sector.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the determinants and outcomes of Islamic corporate social responsibility (ICSR) adoption in Islamic bank branches in Pakistan. The research framework examines the influence of stakeholder’s pressure on ICSR adoption. It also analyses the relationship between ICSR adoption and intangible outcomes achieved by the Islamic bank branch.
Design/methodology/approach
A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed through a mail survey to Islamic bank branches in Pakistan. The respondents of the study were the branch manager of Islamic bank branches in Pakistan. A simple random sampling technique was used and resulted in the collection of 293 usable questionnaires. SMART PLS was used to statistically analyse the data using partial least squares structural equation modelling approach. The measurement and structural models were analysed.
Findings
The results indicate a significant and positive relationship between Shariah supervisory board pressure, competitor pressure and ICSR adoption in Islamic bank branches. A moderate strength positive relationship was found out between top management pressure and ICSR adoption. Results reveal that customer pressure and community pressure have an insignificant influence on ICSR adoption. Data analysis shows that the adoption of ICSR practices have a significant and positive influence on an Islamic bank branch’s Intangible outcomes.
Research limitations/implications
The sample size was relatively small because of the limited time duration.
Originality/value
The construct of ICSR has not been extensively researched upon especially through empirical studies. Limited research exists in the area of factors than can influence Islamic bank branches to adopt ICSR practices and currently no empirical research has focussed on the intangible outcomes that can be achieved through ICSR adoption by an Islamic bank branch. The limited study exists in the Pakistan context as well, which is a rapidly growing Islamic banking industry.
