Abstract
We investigate the cross-sectional and time-series determinants of idiosyncratic volatility in the Korean market. In particular, we focus on the empirical relation between firms’ asset growth rate and idiosyncratic stock return volatility. We find that, in the cross-section, companies with high idiosyncratic volatility tend to be small and highly leveraged, have high variance of ROE and Market to Book ratio, high turnover rate, and pay no dividends. Furthermore, firms with extreme (either high positive or negative) asset growth rates have high idiosyncratic return volatility than firms with moderate growth rates, suggesting the V-shaped relation between asset growth rate and idiosyncratic return volatility. We find that the V-shaped relation is robust even after controlling for other factors. In time-series, we find that firm-level idiosyncratic volatility is positively related to the dispersion of the cross-sectional asset growth rates. As a result, this study is contributed to show that the asset growth is the most important predictor of firm-level idiosyncratic return volatility in both the cross-section and the time-series in the Korean stock market. In addition, we show how the effect of risk factors varies with industries.

There is significant amount of literature tackling different issues related to the port industry. The present chapter focuses on a single business unit of seaports aiming at the documentation of works related to container terminals.
An effort to review, collect and present the majority of the works present in the last 30 years, between 1980 and 2010, has been made in order to picture the problems dealt and methods used by the authors in the specific research field. To facilitate the reader, studies have been grouped under five categories of addressed problems (productivity and competitiveness, yard and equipment utilization, equipment scheduling, berth planning, loading/unloading) and four modelling methodologies (mathematics and operations research, management and economics, simulation, stochastic modelling).
The analysis shows that most works focus on productivity and competitiveness issues followed by yard and equipment utilisation and equipment scheduling. In reference to the methodologies used managerial and economic approaches lead, followed by mathematics and operations research.
In reference to future research, two fields have been identified where there is scope of significant contribution by the academic community: container terminal security and container terminal supply chain integration.
The present chapter provides the framework for researchers in the field of port container terminals to picture the so far works in this research area and enables the identification of gaps at both research question and methodology level for further research.

Abstract
This paper employs the concept of supply chain orientation in container port management and empirically tests whether the measurement models proposed in some notable previous research have universal application. In addition, this study attempts to identify any significant causal relationships between port supply chain orientation and port performance from the view point of shipping companies. In the current study port supply chain orientation was found to have limited effect on customer satisfaction and port competitiveness, which might has been caused by some implemental and practical issues. However, the present study reveals the potential importance of port supply chain management by empirically demonstrating that “closer relationship with shipping lines” and “innovative value added service” could function as critical components for container ports/terminals to improve customer satisfaction and enhance their competitiveness.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to examine the structural relationships among lifestyle of health and sustainability (LOHAS), healthy food choices, trust, and emotional loyalty and the moderating role of age between seniors and non‐seniors in restaurants.
Design/methodology/approach
Partial least squares (PLS)‐graph software (version 3.0) was used to analyze the measurements and structural models. The authors employed a PLS regression analysis for both the formative and reflective constructs in the empirical test of the research model.
Findings
The study revealed that the senior market segment differs from the non‐senior market segment in the following ways: the magnitude of impact of LOHAS on healthy food choices is much stronger for senior diners than for non‐senior diners and the impact of LOHAS on trust and emotional loyalty is greater for seniors than non‐seniors.
Research limitations/implications
The results of this study can guide the restaurant industry in its research on the implications of LOHAS for seniors.
Practical implications
Restaurant marketers should develop different strategies for the senior and non‐senior market segments, and they need to focus on target segments rather than attempting to appeal to the market as a whole.
Originality/value
This paper assists researchers and practitioners by shedding light on the differences among LOHAS, healthy food choices, trust, and emotional loyalty between senior and non‐senior diners.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to provide useful data for setting up eco-friendly restaurant (EFR) marketing strategies by analyzing experiential value and well-being perception, lovemarks and behavior intention, before presenting practical proposals.
Design/methodology/approach
The data used in this study were based on a sample of 300 customers at “Seasonal Dining Table” in South Korea. Data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling.
Findings
As a result of the study, playfulness showed the greatest influence on well-being perception, followed by service excellent, aesthetics and efficiency. In addition, well-being perception was found to have a positive effect on brand love and brand respect. Finally, the role of experiential value, well-being perception and lovemarks as the determinants factors to increase the customer's behavioral intention toward EFR was confirmed.
Practical implications
The present research informed that effectively dealing with four constituents of experiential value (efficiency, service excellence, aesthetic and playfulness) are of utmost importance in building customers' well-being perception. In addition, customers' well-being perception and lovemarks should be improved to boost the level of behavior intention for EFR.
Originality/value
This is the first study to examine experiential value, well-being perception, lovemarks and behavior intention in the context of restaurants. In particular, it is differentiated from previous foodservice studies by examining the relationship between experiential value and well-being perception.

Abstract
Considering the proliferation of free trade agreements (FTAs) worldwide, this study develops and empirically tests a conceptual model to explain the impact of CEO attitudes on the intention of exporting firms to utilize FTA preferential tariffs. Based on a survey of 221 exporting small and medium-sized enterprises in South Korea, this study employed partial least squares structural equation modelling to test the hypotheses. Results show that perceived usefulness and organizational learning partially mediate the relationship between CEO attitudes and intention to use FTA schemes. This study deepens our understanding on the firm’s internal process for utilizing FTA preferential tariffs.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore the key success factors behind Bangtan Boys’ (BTS) popularity, and how they can contribute to sustaining it, along with detailed strategies for the success of global pop.
Design/methodology/approach
This study adopts a mixed-methods approach that uses text mining and interviews and uses the success of BTS to find the key factors accounting for its sustained popularity. For use in text mining, we collected data related to BTS from social network sites (SNS) and analyzed this data using latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic modeling, term frequency analysis and keyword extraction. In addition, we conducted interviews to explore the key factors accounting for the sustained popularity of BTS.
Findings
We found ten key success factors—active global fandom, SNS communication, fans' loyalty, empathy through music, storytelling and world view, performance quality, music video quality, overseas expansion at an early stage, efforts for self-development and teamwork among members— for a global pop group's success and sustained popularity.
Research limitations/implications
This study contributes to the literature by finding key factors for success and sustained popularity of a global group through using a mixed-methods approach.
Practical implications
Our results suggest strategies to sustain the popularity of global groups and its potential to benefit across the entertainment industry.
Originality/value
This study is among the first to comprehensively examine the key factors for Korean pop’s (K-pop) sustained popularity by using a mixed-methods approach of text mining and interviews.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating role of CEO duality on the geographic diversification–firm performance relationship in the US lodging industry.
Design/methodology/approach
To examine the individual effect of geographic diversification and the moderating effect of CEO duality, this study adopts random effects regression. Additionally, to appropriately address the endogeneity issue, this study uses random effects regression with the instrumental variable method. The sample period spans 1990-2015 and 258 firm-year observations are included.
Findings
This study finds that geographic diversification has a positive and significant effect on firm performance. Also, the result shows a positive and significant moderating role of CEO duality, which implies that the magnitude of the impact of geographic diversification on firm performance is significantly greater when CEO duality exists.
Research limitations/implications
Although it has a limitation of applying the results of this study to privately held lodging firms in other countries, US public lodging firms are encouraged to consider a corporate governance structure incorporating CEO duality to maximize the effect of geographic diversification on firm performance.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the hospitality literature by providing a unique dimension that the influence of geographic diversification is contingent on the adoption of CEO duality. And, the results of this study provide practical guidelines for the lodging firms’ implementation of geographic diversification.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to emphasize the important role of performance-oriented human resource (HR) practices and gender equality perceptions in supervisors and chief executive officers (CEOs) for career development among women in management.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used a quantitative methodology to examine relationships among variables. The authors conducted a survey to investigate factors influencing the career development of women managers in professional settings, with a sample of 1,502 female managers in South Korea.
Findings
The relationship between performance-oriented HR practices and career development for women managers was supported. In addition, self-leadership significantly mediated the relationship between performance-oriented HR practices and career development. Finally, double moderator effects of gender equality perceptions of CEOs and supervisors on the relationship between performance-oriented HR practices and self-leadership were significant.
Originality/value
This study emphasizes that career development for women in South Korea depends on gender equality awareness and institutional reorganization for best practices at top management levels. Specifically, this study identified the essential role of performance-based HR practices to support self-leadership and career development in women managers. Furthermore, this study recognized gender equality perceptions of CEOs and supervisors as a critical factor in the successful career development of women managers.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper investigates the interrelationships of destination social responsibility (DSR), emotional attachment, self-congruity, experiential satisfaction and environmentally responsible behavior (ERB).
Design/methodology/approach
Using a sample of 294 visitors to the Guangzhou Zoo in China, this study tested the aforementioned relationships via structural equation modeling.
Findings
Emotional attachment mediates the effect of DSR on experiential satisfaction, while emotional attachment and experiential satisfaction mediate the effect of DSR on ERB sequentially. Moreover, self-congruity moderates the relationship between DSR and emotional attachment.
Practical implications
The management of zoos should use DSR communication strategies more proactively to make visitors become well-aware of their economic, philanthropic, environmental and social activities in the host community. This will result in many positive consequences, including visitors’ ERBs.
Originality/value
The study adds to the DSR literature by introducing multiple mediation mechanisms and paths that lead to visitors’ ERBs.

Hallazgos
el apego emocional media el efecto de DSR en la satisfacción experiencial, mientras que el apego emocional y la satisfacción experiencial median el efecto de DSR en ERB secuencialmente. Además, la autocongruencia modera la relación entre DSR y apego emocional.
Implicaciones prácticas
la administración de los zoológicos debe utilizar estrategias de comunicación de DSR de manera más proactiva para que los visitantes estén bien informados sobre sus actividades económicas, filantrópicas, ambientales y sociales en la comunidad anfitriona.
