Abstract
Innovation fuels organizations evolving them to withstand rapid changes in markets and challenges from competition. While diversified concepts of innovation are examined, a generic framework for managing organizational innovation is established to portray the notion in a methodical approach. Substatiation of the determinants for organizational innovation is carried out in order to examine the framework against the practical situation. Subsequently, expectations and actual accomplishments of the determinants for organizational innovation from the industry are determined so as to understand the industrial view towards the framework. This paper summarizes the empirical findings of a survey of organizational innovation with a sample of 208 electronic and electrical manufacturing companies in the Greater Pearl River Delta (GPRD), China. On one hand, the survey findings confirm the readiness of the generic framework from the practical perspective of the industry. On the other hand, rankings are obtained for the expected importance and company accomplishment of the determinants for organizational innovation, namely in the areas of management leadership and commitment, employee capability and attitude and strategy development for innovation. The improvement area is also verified by the shortcomings of the expectation in comparison to the company accomplishment in each dterminant. Meanwhile, it is believed that a directional attitude towards the determinants can facilitate the accomplishment of the determinants of organizational innovation. Further results will be generated from a more in‐depth analysis of variables. The confirmed framework will be further developed into an assessment system for organizational innovation with the support of best practices in each determinant.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to analyze online responses to gain insights into public attitudes and concerns regarding traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) among Hong Kong residents. By addressing gaps in understanding public sentiment, this study contributes to the development of effective health-care policies.
Design/methodology/approach
Responses were collected from Baby-Kingdom.com using Python, gathering 17,568 TCM-related comments from 2016 to 2023. Analysis involved an eight-theme codebook and sentiment and semantic network analyses with DiVoMiner.
Findings
Most responses expressed positive sentiments and attitudes toward TCM. The analysis revealed recurring topics related to conditioning and specific diseases, including gynecological problems. Clinic service quality, fair pricing and convenient locations were also highlighted.
Research limitations/implications
This study examines the networked public sphere and the Theory of Planned Behavior regarding TCM, emphasizing online forums’ impact on attitudes and highlighting gaps in service access, using big data and an interdisciplinary approach.
Practical implications
The findings of this study from Baby-Kingdom.com emphasize the need to improve the accessibility of TCM-related discussions. An official platform for professionals is proposed, with government support for reliable information and partnerships with local universities to expand services.
Originality/value
This study provides valuable insights into the popularity of TCM in Hong Kong, which may encourage uptake and use of TCM services in the health-care sector in not only Hong Kong but also the Greater Bay Area, China and potentially other countries in the future.

Abstract
Purpose
The COVID-19 pandemic had amplified feelings of isolation and alienation, particularly among school-aged children. The pandemic-related social distancing policies had led to a marked decline in students’ physical and social well-being, potentially fostering a sense of apathy among them. Upon returning to the “normal” in late 2022, a Chinese martial arts Outreach Program was launched in over 50 schools in Hong Kong, involving the entire student body and teachers at each school. This paper aims to explore the potential role of sports in enhancing student well-being in post-COVID times and as a societal response to the evolving sociopolitical landscape in Hong Kong, using the program as a case study.
Design/methodology/approach
Using ethnographic immersion, participant observation and semi-structured interviews, the study examines how the program sought to overcome the challenges students were facing during the pandemic through Chinese martial arts instruction and the teaching of traditional Chinese values.
Findings
The findings of this study reveal that the objectives of the Chinese martial arts Outreach Program not only centered on students’ immediate personal well-being but also entailed broader goals of advancing national education. The program’s design, which integrated sports and national education, emerged as a response to the pandemic and the sociopolitical transformations in Hong Kong, particularly following the implementation of the National Security Law.
Originality/value
The findings will deepen the understanding of how sport has been politicized as a means to respond to the societal changes in Hong Kong, especially after the pandemic.

Purpose
Firms survive by exploiting knowledge resources to maintain customer relationships more efficiently and effectively, as well as enhance their service quality. However, whether an enterprise can effectively utilize knowledge resources determines the effectiveness of knowledge management capability (KMC). Hence, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship among KMC, customer relationship management (CRM), and service quality.
Design/methodology/approach
In order to explore on KMC, CRM, and service quality, the questionnaire and partial least square (PLS) techniques were used.
Findings
The results indicate that KMC has a positive influence on CRM and service quality; and further, that CRM has a positive influence on service quality. This result also reveals constructive suggestions that allow firms to strengthen their KMC and CRM, as well as enhance their service quality.
Research limitations/implications
This research applied a purposive sampling method and obtained a slightly inadequate number of respondents. Therefore, it is suggested that future research should apply a random sampling method to collect more responses and increase the generalizability of the findings.
Practical implications
This research aims to investigate KMC, CRM, and service quality, as well as establish and verify the patterns of the aforementioned relationships based on how enterprises implement their KMC and CRM to enhance service quality.
Originality/value
Although the critical factors for enhancing service quality have been identified in previous studies, few have specifically explored KMC despite the fact that it has a dramatic impact on service quality. To fill this knowledge gap, the present study employed a questionnaire and PLS techniques to explore the relationship among KMC, CRM, and service quality. Comprehending the essentials for enhancing service quality can provide useful management insights into developing effective strategies that allow enterprises to retain customers.

Abstract
Purpose
Although many researchers have widely studied additive manufacturing (AM) as one of the most important industrial revolutions, few have presented a bibliometric analysis of the published studies in this area. This paper aims to evaluate AM research trends based on 4607 publications most cited from year 2010 to 2020.
Design/methodology/approach
The research methodology is bibliometric indicators and network analysis, including analysis based on keywords, citation analysis, productive journal, related published papers and authors indicators. Two free available software were employed VOSviewer and Bibexcel.
Findings
Keywords analysis results indicate that among the AM processes, Selective Laser Melting and Fused Deposition Modeling techniques, are the two processes ranked on top of the techniques employed and studied with 35.76% and 20.09% respectively. The citation analysis by VOSviewer software, reveals that the medical applications field and the fabrication of metal parts are the areas that interest researchers greatly. Different new research niches, as pharmaceutical industry, digital construction and food fabrication are growing topics in AM scientific works. This study reveals that journals “Materials & design”, “Advanced materials”, “Acs applied materials & interfaces”, “Additive manufacturing”, “Advanced functional materials” and “Biofabrication” are the most productive and influential in AM scientific research.
Originality/value
The results and conclusions of this work can be used as indicators of trends in AM research and/or as prospects for future studies in this area.
