This paper aims to introduce the use of data visualization tool, the Viewshare, in library environment.
Design/methodology/approach
Viewshare has been successfully adopted in various institutions for depicting cultural heritage collections.
Findings
An attempt is made here to explore the possibility of the use of Viewshare in academic libraries.
Social implications
The details of e-journals being subscribed by the Kuvempu University are presented in an attractive and interactive environment using Viewshare to provide clear insights to library users.
Originality/value
The steps followed for creating different views have been explained to make other professionals feel confident and motivate them to use Viewshare in library environment.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to explore three operations and supply chain management (OSCM) approaches for meeting the 2 °C targets to counteract climate change: adaptation (adjusting to climatic impacts); mitigation (innovating towards low-carbon practices); and carbon-removing negative emissions technologies (NETs). We suggest that adaptation nor mitigation may be enough to meet the current climate targets, thus calling for NETs, resulting in the following question: How can operations and supply chains be reconceptualized for NETs?
Design/methodology/approach
We draw on the sustainable supply chain and transitions discourses along with interview data involving 125 experts gathered from a broad research project focused on geoengineering and NETs. We analyze three case studies of emerging NETs (biochar, direct air carbon capture and storage and ocean alkalinity enhancement), leading to propositions on the link between OSCM and NETs.
Findings
Although some NETs are promising, there remains considerable variance and uncertainty over supply chain configurations, efficacy, social acceptability and potential risks of unintended detrimental consequences. We introduce the concept of transformative OSCM, which encompasses policy interventions to foster the emergence of new technologies in industry sectors driven by social mandates but lack clear commercial incentives.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is among the first that studies NETs from an OSCM perspective. It suggests a pathway toward new industry structures and policy support to effectively tackle climate change through carbon removal.

Abstract
Purpose
The concentration of women entrepreneurs on influential events such as the development of green entrepreneurship, which lead to the coordination and dynamic balance between economic and environmental goals, can create a bright future for businesses with sustainable and environmentally friendly architecture. The main purpose of this study is to provide a framework for the successful entry of women entrepreneurs into green entrepreneurship.
Design/methodology/approach
The present qualitative applied descriptive-analytical study was conducted on a population of women entrepreneurs working in green businesses. This population was obtained by the non-probability chain sampling method and an exploratory interview with the saturation of 12 individuals. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the findings.
Findings
The results revealed that creating shared value, inclusive social acceptance, multifaceted interactions and green dynamic bedding are effective in the entry of women entrepreneurs into green entrepreneurship in the form of “competitive empowerment” and “multiplied green synergy”. Thus, managers and planners should consider some factors, including shared value, social acceptance, inclusive acceptance, building green culture, knowledge flows, multiple participation, networking dimension, green marketing, competitiveness, creating platforms, green technologies and risk management.
Originality/value
This research tries to present a framework for the entry of women entrepreneurs into green entrepreneurship area.

Abstract
Purpose
This chapter analyzes and discusses the food insecurity and malnutrition situation in Europe and Central Asia (ECA), with a strong focus on the Caucasus and Central Asian countries.
Methodology/approach
Authors use descriptive statistics to examine macro-level, sectoral-level, and household-level data from national and international sources to review production, trade, and consumption of food and agricultural products in the selected countries. Overall trends in economic growth and poverty reduction, constraints and bottlenecks in agricultural productivity growth, as well as policies that shape food security in the ECA region are analyzed.
Findings
While the countries that constitute the focus of this chapter have shown significant progress in alleviating food insecurity and extreme poverty, many risk factors remain, such as inadequate micronutrient intake, sub-optimal quality diets, growing obesity rates, and high dependence on food imports in a number of the ECA countries.
Practical implications
Based on the assessment of the food security situation in the ECA countries, the authors discuss government actions, including those emanating from various global initiatives, being implemented to reduce food insecurity and malnutrition.

Abstract
Purpose
Satellite networking will be an important component of future ubiquitous communications systems. Satellite networks will be especially useful to interconnect remote sensor networks. Therefore, satellite networks should provide the needed QoS, differentiation of services and at the same time keep the required scalability. The purpose of this paper is to propose a new Diffserv‐based scheme of bandwidth allocation during congestion, called proportional allocation of bandwidth (PAB).
Design/methodology/approach
The paper suggests a method for implementing PAB without storing per‐flow state, which makes the scheme scalable and simple and shows, by simulation, the advantages of using PAB in IP satellite networks.
Findings
The paper finds that PAB can be used in geostationary earth orbit, MEO and low earth orbit satellite networks. In PAB, during congestion all flows get a share of IP available bandwidth, which is in proportion to their subscribed information rate.
Originality/value
The simulations described in this paper show that the performance of PAB scheme is good on congested satellite networks.

Abstract
Bluetooth wireless technology is a low power, low cost and short‐range RF technology that permits communication between bluetooth enabled devices, and focuses on replacement of cables between electronic devices. Communication between Bluetooth devices follows a strict master‐slave scheme. Each master device can have up to 7 active slaves and forms a so called piconet. In Bluetooth employing conventional scheduling policies such as Round Robin (RR), POLL or NULL packet is sent when the Master or Slave node does not have any data to send which causes a significant waste of resources. The DRR (Deficit Round Robin) scheduling algorithm can avoid the waste of time and slot of the RR scheduling at the sacrifice of fairness. In this paper we propose an improved DRR (IDRR) scheduling algorithm which effectively combines the DRR and bin packing algorithm. Computer simulation reveals that slot utilization is increased up to about 60% while the total number of used slots is decreased up to about 100%. The proposed IDRR scheduling is thus effective for not only basic data transmission but also real‐time multimedia data transmission.

Common features of pilgrimages are: not an excessive burden on the environment; beneficial to local communities; occur at certain times of year only; people carry their own baggage and purchase food, etc. locally; pilgrims are quiet and law‐abiding; killing animals or taking from nature is taboo. Some lessons can be learned from these for modern tourism.

Abstract
Purpose
The present study aims to examine the impact of social media marketing activities (SMMAs) on the adoption of food waste reduction behavior among Generation Z consumers within the restaurant service industry in Pakistan. The study focuses on the impact of social media advertisements and investigates the mediating influence of waste reduction intentions on actual behavior. This underscores the significance of contextual and emotional variables in comprehending consumer behaviors.
Design/methodology/approach
The study used a cross-sectional research methodology to examine the impact of SMMAs on the behavior of Generation Z consumers in Pakistan’s food service industry with regard to reducing food waste. A study was conducted to investigate the restaurant purchasing behaviors of a sample consisting of 449 individuals belonging to the millennial generation, often known as Generation Z.
Findings
The majority of variables related to SMMA, except for interactivity and personalization, were shown to have a positive impact on individuals’ intents to reduce food waste. The study observed a significant relationship between consumers’ intentions to decrease waste and their actual behavior in waste reduction. Furthermore, this relationship was shown to be influenced by the mediating role of waste reduction intention.
Originality/value
Examining how social media affects Pakistani Generation Z’s efforts to reduce food waste is what makes this study distinctive. According to the research, the majority of social media factors positively influence intentions to reduce waste. The relationship between intentions and actual behavior, which highlights the impact of social media campaigns and emotional aspects in promoting waste reduction, is one of the important conclusions.
