Abstract
The Internet has created new opportunities to make quality health information more widely available to both researchers and the general public. However, not all that information has been presented in a format accessible to people with disabilities. This accessibility assessment of eight selected Web‐based health information resources (PubMed, OVID MEDLINE, MEDLINEplus, CANCERLIT, the Hazardous Substance Data Bank, TOXLINE, and two databases of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)) evaluates the ease with which these resources can be navigated using adaptive technologies, and provides suggestions for improvement where necessary.

Abstract
Since 1996, when a first comprehensive use survey was conducted, librarians at the Washington State University (WSU) Libraries have worked to build a culture of continuous assessment. Using information obtained from surveys and other sources, library administrators focus limited resources on priorities identified by users. In 2000, an Assessment Working Group was formed to initiate and coordinate assessment projects throughout the WSU Libraries. The group conducted a local survey of library users to help determine specific areas of strength and weakness in the fall of 2000. In 2001, the libraries participated in the second pilot of LibQUAL+™. This article compares the results of the three surveys, and provides an analysis of how each survey differs in representing user needs and priorities. The rationale for the libraries’ decision to continue participation in LibQUAL+™ is also discussed.

Abstract
Alien franchise protagonist Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) returns in the series' second film instalment, Aliens (1986), as ‘a full-fledged hard-body hero’ (Gallardo & Smith, 2004) to assist in the rescue of a group of colonists from an Alien invasion. As each of the rescue team's male officers are killed or proven incompetent or traitorous, Ripley quickly steps forward as the surviving group's leader and principal strategist, forming a strong emotional attachment to the colonists' only surviving child and providing structure and stability to the remaining soldiers. Her heroism is defined by her maternal leadership of the group; as the most sensible and competent member, she prioritizes the group's needs above her own. Ripley's full embodiment of motherhood amplifies her machoism and maternal control over the surviving group, allowing her to reconquer her fears of the Alien species and protect her adopted child when she is kidnapped and nearly killed by the Alien Queen. This chapter thus traces Ellen Ripley's transformation from sceptical consultant to macho-mother and its importance to the franchise's overarching narrative, as well as the evolution of the macho-mother hero in more recent science fiction action films such as Mad Max Fury Road (2015) and The Cloverfield Paradox (2018).

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to describe how Kaizen, an accredited offending behaviour programme designed for high risk and need offenders within Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), lends itself to responsive delivery with those meeting the criteria for psychopathy.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper describes how the theoretical rationale and model of change underpinning Kaizen can be applied to those with high levels of psychopathic traits given the available literature in this area.
Findings
It is argued that Kaizen is applicable to those meeting the criteria for psychopathy.
Research limitations/implications
As a contemporary intervention, the efficacy of Kaizen in its ability to support participants in their journey towards desistance and therefore to contribute to the service wide aim of reducing reoffending is yet to be evaluated. In turn, its applicability to those meeting the criteria for psychopathy is yet to be explored.
Practical implications
This paper lends support to the applicability of Mann and Carter’s (2012) six organising principles of programme design in the treatment of high risk, high need offenders who meet the criteria for psychopathy. It encourages practitioners to consider Kaizen as a possible intervention option for this population and offers guidance as to how the programme might be used to best effect. The paper also highlights the importance of evaluating the efficacy of participation in Kaizen for this population.
Originality/value
In time, Kaizen will replace Chromis as the offer by Intervention Services (HMPPS) for high risk offenders with a high level or combination of psychopathic trait. This paper describes this forthcoming change in approach and the rationale underpinning it.

Abstract
Bringing renewed attention to the anemic representation of Black women within the teaching profession, this chapter begins by chronicling the history of Black women in teacher education – from the Reconstruction Era to the 21st century – in an effort to highlight the causes of their conspicuous demographic decline. Next, it is argued that increasing the number of Black women in the teaching profession is a worthwhile endeavor although the rationales for such targeted efforts may not be obvious or appreciated by the casual observer. It is, therefore, important to illuminate the multiple justifications as to why it is essential to improve the underrepresentation of Black women in America’s classrooms. Lastly, it is asserted that serious attention is required to reverse the dramatic exodus of Black women from the teaching profession. In conveying this issue, the author shares special emphasis recruiting tactics, for the national, programmatic, and local school district levels, as promising proposals to enlist and retain more Black women in the teaching profession.
