Abstract
In addition to the rapidly changing makeup of the workforce, companies are finding themselves faced with the challenge of competing in the global marketplace for market share. The goal of corporate America must be to create a cultural environment, both at home and in their efforts abroad, that demonstrates a respect for differences while building on commonalities. Focuses on describing the parameters of multiculturalism in the American workplace, cases and ramifications of failure to embrace diversity both home and abroad, and offers an action plan to respond to the changing workplace and marketplace.
