Abstract
Purpose
Data quality is a major challenge in data management. For organizations, the cleanliness of data is a significant problem that affects many business activities. Errors in data occur for different reasons, such as violation of business rules. However, because of the huge amount of data, manual cleaning alone is infeasible. Methods are required to repair and clean the dirty data through automatic detection, which are data quality issues to address. The purpose of this work is to extend the density-based data cleaning approach using conditional functional dependencies to achieve better data repair.
Design/methodology/approach
A set of conditional functional dependencies is introduced as an input to the density-based data cleaning algorithm. The algorithm repairs inconsistent data using this set.
Findings
This new approach was evaluated through experiments on real-world as well as synthetic datasets. The repair quality was determined using the F-measure. The results showed that the quality and scalability of the density-based data cleaning approach improved when conditional functional dependencies were introduced.
Originality/value
Conditional functional dependencies capture semantic errors among data values. This work demonstrates that the density-based data cleaning approach can be improved in terms of repairing inconsistent data by using conditional functional dependencies.

Abstract
This chapter investigates the environmental behaviours of three, four- and five-star hotels in Azuay (Ecuador). The methodology involved a quantitative research that measured the relationship between environmental responsibility (Gallardo, Sanchez, & Corchuelo, 2013) and stakeholder engagement (Kostova & Roth, 2002; Llamas-Sanchez, García-Morales, & Martin-Tapia, 2013; Vargas-Sánchez & Riquel-Ligero, 2012). The main findings suggest that the managers of the hotels implement environmental practices as they reduce waste, gas emissions and recycle materials. These practices are aligned with Ecuador’s extant legislation and regulations. In conclusion, this contribution implies that the hotels’ managers ought to communicate about their environmental responsibility with their stakeholders, including the employees, suppliers and customers.

Subjects discussed include cotton fabric processing, asbestos substitutes, textile adjuncts to cardiovascular surgery, wet textile processes, hand evaluation, nanotechnology, thermoplastic composites, robotic ironing, protective clothing (agricultural and industrial), ecological aspects of fibre properties – to name but a few! There would appear to be no limit to the future potential for textile applications.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to present the results of measurements and calculations illustrating mutual thermal coupling between power Schottky diodes made of silicon carbide situated in the common case.
Design/methodology/approach
The idea of measurements of mutual transient thermal impedances of the investigated device is described.
Findings
The results of measurements of mutual transient thermal impedances between the considered diodes are shown. The experimentally verified results of calculations of the internal temperature waveforms of the considered diodes obtained with mutual thermal coupling taken into account are presented and discussed. The influence of mutual thermal coupling and a self-heating phenomenon on the internal temperature of the considered diodes is pointed out.
Research limitations/implications
The presented methods of measurements and calculations can be used for constructing the investigated diodes made of other semiconductor materials.
Originality/value
The presented results prove that mutual thermal coupling between diodes mounted in the common case must be taken into account to calculate correctly the waveforms of the device internal temperature.
