Abstract
Purpose
Despite its importance, the literature on women financial inclusion (WFI) remains fragmented due to the absence of a comprehensive review that consolidates the intellectual structure of the field. This paper examines the intellectual structure of the topic and gives a complete overview of the research undertaken so far in the field.
Design/methodology/approach
A bibliometric study of 235 Scopus-indexed publications, including citation analysis, keyword network analysis, co-authorship analysis and reference co-citation analysis using VOSviewer was performed.
Findings
The study identified major contributors to the field (the most prolific author was Ghosh, S.), the leading journals in the field (the World Development), the geographical locations where research in the field is concentrated (India is the leading country) and the organisations focussing on green consumer research (leading organisation: The World Bank, USA). In addition, four significant themes that describe the body of information about women's financial inclusion were found.
Originality/value
This study provides policymakers and academic scholars with fresh insights at a higher level into this burgeoning topic. Such insights would aid in the development of initiatives to address women's financial inclusion concerns.

Abstract
Purpose
Pakistan has experienced financial liberalization with rapid ups and downs in economic growth due to domestic issues during the last 2 decades. Motivated by inconclusive and conflicting time-driven findings about the performance of the business groups, this study examines the performance of business groups in Pakistan for a relatively long period from 2003 to 2018.
Design/methodology/approach
The study uses 3,821 firm-year observations from non-financial firms listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). For the estimation, pooled ordinary least squares (OLS) with industry- and year fixed effects and two-step system generalized methods of moments (GMM) are used.
Findings
The study finds that group-affiliated firms outperform independent firms in accounting performance, while underperform in market performance. The outperformance is mainly driven by medium-sized business groups, while underperformance is driven by small and large business groups. Further, the study documents that the underperformance in terms of market performance of firms affiliated with small and large groups is greater before the economic downturn, while outperformance in terms of the accounting measure of firms affiliated with medium-sized groups is greater during the economic downturn. These findings support our time-driven concerns. Overall, the authors' findings are consistent with institutional and transaction cost theories.
Practical implications
Business groups are important channels to reduce market inefficiencies. Business groups may enhance the affiliated firms' resources and resistance capacity through active utilization of the internal capital market, specifically when market conditions are not ideal for affiliates. However, effective utilization of internal capital markets depends on group size. Therefore, investors should deliberate on the size of business groups and diversification within business groups.
Originality/value
The authors extend the literature by providing fresh evidence related to the performance of business groups in the Pakistani context while accounting for the role of the size of business groups.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to map the research landscape on the topic of waste management in the business and management domain, with a particular emphasis on pro-environmental ethical behaviour. The objective is to evaluate publication performance, identify key stakeholders, investigate major clusters, recognise the evolution of themes and offer a research agenda for the future based on bibliometric reflection.
Design/methodology/approach
Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis procedure was used to extract and choose a total of 609 publications from the Scopus database from 1985 to 2022. The research then does bibliometric analysis with the open-source R application bibliometrics. The authors used a number of tools and techniques, including a collaboration network, word dynamics, co-occurrence network, thematic map and strategy map.
Findings
The analysis identifies most prolific stakeholders, key clusters and evolving themes in the field. The motor themes, niche themes, basic themes and emerging themes of the field were identified, and future research agenda is proposed based on such identification.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first bibliometric study in the field of waste reduction, providing a comprehensive view of the research landscape by analysing more than 50 years of literature focussing on behavioural aspects. These findings could assist policymakers in identifying waste management/reduction priority regions and developing policy guidelines for a more sustainable waste practise. In addition to providing recommendations and future directions for academic research, this report also includes these elements.

Abstract
Purpose
The main objective of the study is to analyze the effectiveness of the advance organizer model (AOM) versus the conventional teaching method (CTM) in teaching high school math using game-based learning (GBL) for improved student learning performance.
Design/methodology/approach
Data from 480 students, covering sociodemographics, educational identifiers and actions, were collected across two semesters. The research analyzed factors like interest, motivation, and problem-solving abilities to assess the impact of teaching methods. A quasi-experimental design, due to non-randomized group selection, was used, mitigating differences via analysis of covariance. Students were split into control and test groups, and test scores before and after administering the treatment were calculated. Hypothesis testing was carried out to find the effectiveness of AOM versus CTM. The sample contains a diverse sociodemographic background and educational setting. 175 students in the sample were female and 305 were male. The sample was made up of 14 nationalities, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Peru, Iraq and Lebanon. Parent participation was also incorporated through parental satisfaction surveys.
Findings
Despite unknown group differences, the study found significant differences in Mean Retention Scores between the AOM and CTM groups. This suggests that AOM has considerable advantages in teaching mathematics over CTM.
Originality/value
The study of the first kind that explores the effectiveness of different teaching methods based on gamification perspective for improving student performance.

Abstract
Purpose
The study aims to numerically examine the impact of nanoparticles on an unsteady flow of a Williamson fluid past a permeable convectively heated shrinking sheet.
Design/methodology/approach
In sort of the solution of the governing differential equations, suitable transformation variables are used to get the system of ODEs. The converted equations are then numerically solved via the shooting technique.
Findings
The impacts of such parameters on the velocity profile, temperature distribution and the concentration of nanoparticles are examined through graphs and tables. The results point out that multiple solutions are achieved for certain values of the suction parameter and for decelerating flow, while for accelerating flow, the solution is unique. Further, the non-Newtonian parameter reduces the fluid velocity and boosts the temperature distribution and concentration of nanoparticles in the first solution, while the reverse drift is noticed in the second solution.
Practical implications
The current results may be used in many applications such as biomedicine, industrial, electronics and solar energy.
Originality/value
The authors think that the current results are new and significant, which are used in many applications such as biomedicine, industrial, electronics and solar energy. The results have not been considered elsewhere.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to deal with the study of heat and mass transfer on double-diffusive three-dimensional hydromagnetic boundary layer flow of an electrically conducting Casson nanofluid over a stretching surface. The combined effects of nonlinear thermal radiation, magnetic field, buoyancy forces, thermophoresis and Brownian motion are taken into consideration with convective boundary conditions.
Design/methodology/approach
Similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing partial differential equations into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The reduced equations were numerically solved using Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg fourth-fifth-order method along with shooting technique.
Findings
The impact of several existing physical parameters such as Casson parameter, mixed convection parameter, regular buoyancy ratio parameter, radiation parameter, Brownian motion parameter, thermophoresis parameter, temperature ratio parameter on velocity, temperature, solutal and nanofluid concentration profiles are analyzed through graphs and tables in detail. It is found that the solutal component increases for Dufour Lewis number, whereas it decreases for nanofluid Lewis number. Moreover, velocity profiles decrease for Casson parameter, while the Nusselt number increases for Biot number, radiation and temperature ratio parameter.
Originality/value
This paper is a new work related to three-dimensional double-diffusive flow of Casson nanofluid with buoyancy and nonlinear thermal radiation effect.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to examine the effects of oil price uncertainty on corporate investment of Islamic stocks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Design/methodology/approach
The study uses a panel data set that covers 398 listed Islamic stocks from seven major Asia Pacific countries over the period of five years from 2017 to 2021, yielding 1,990 observations. Specifically, this paper investigates the said association by combining the real options theory regarding investment and the panel data-based econometric method that captures the dynamic relationship, the generalized method of moments estimators.
Findings
The findings show that the relationship between the oil price volatility and corporate investment of Islamic stocks is significant and nonlinear in nature, suggesting the presence of both the growth options and the waiting options. Overall, the results reveal that corporate investment of Islamic stocks is hindered during the unprecedented corona crash, when oil price increases at exponential rates.
Practical implications
The findings suggest that considering the information caused by unprecedented events like the COVID-19 pandemic is crucial for investment decisions of Islamic stocks. Therefore, policymakers and regulators should incorporate the impact of oil price uncertainties caused by unprecedented events like the COVID-19 pandemic on firm’s investment expansion and diversification strategies.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first to examine the relationship between the investment of Islamic stocks and the oil price uncertainty under compound options theory in top Asian oil-importing countries.
