Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to develop indium-based solders for cryogenic applications.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper aims to investigate mechanical properties of indium-based solder formulations at room temperature (RT, 27 °C) as well as at cryogenic temperature (CT, −196 °C) and subsequently to find out their suitability for cryogenic applications. After developing these alloys, mechanical properties such as tensile and impact strength were measured as per American Society for Testing and Materials standards at RT and at CT. Charpy impact test results were used to find out ductile to brittle transition temperature (DBTT). These properties were also evaluated after thermal cycling (TC) to find out effect of thermal stress. Scanning electron microscope analysis was performed to understand fracture mechanism. Results indicate that amongst the solder alloys that have been studied in this work, In-34Bi solder alloy has the best all-round mechanical properties at RT, CT and after TC.
Findings
It can be concluded from the results of this work that In-34Bi solder alloy has best all-round mechanical properties at RT, CT and after TC and therefore is the most appropriate solder alloy amongst the alloys that have been studied in this work for cryogenic applications
Originality/value
DBTT of indium-based solder alloys has not been found out in the work done so far in this category. DBTT is necessary to decide safe working temperature range of the alloy. Also the effect of TC, which is one of the major reasons of failure, was not studied so far. These parameters are studied in this work.

Abstract
Purpose
Launching a new product successfully in a multi-brand portfolio is one of the major challenges a pharmaceutical marketer faces. This study aims to examine the role of detailing of new brands on physicians’ prescription behaviour as compared to established brands. Further, the study explores mediating role of detailing priority and detailing time on the relationship between detailing of new versus established brands and physician’s prescription behaviour.
Design/methodology/approach
This study was conducted as a real-world observational study involving field research. In total, 338 physicians, 90 PSRs and 44 field managers participated in this study. A serial mediation model (Hayes, Model 6) was used to examine the relationship. Regression analysis with bootstrapping was used to test the hypotheses.
Findings
Detailing of new versus established brands has a differential effect on physicians’ prescription behaviour. In addition, this relationship is serially mediated by detailing priority and detailing time.
Research limitations/implications
Results suggest that detailing priority and detailing time positively and significantly alter the relationship between the detailing of new brands and physicians’ prescription behaviour as compared to established brands. While, in the absence of mediators, established brands generate higher prescriptions than new brands, the serial mediating effect helps new brands to generate more prescriptions as compared to established brands.
Practical implications
This research highlights the importance of detailing priority and detailing time for the successful launch of the new products. It presents compelling evidence for practicing managers to effectively use a “predetermined detailing plan” vis-à-vis “individualized detailing strategy” during the launch of a new brand.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the role of detailing priority and detailing time as mediators between the relationship of detailing and physicians’ prescription behaviour. This is also one of the rare studies to use real-world observational study methodology for conducting research.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of plasma pretreatment on the corrosion and adhesion behavior of Al coating deposited on iron steel by ion vapor deposition (IVD).
Design/methodology/approach
Ar plasma sputtering was carried out for 0, 5, 10 and 15 min, and then IVD Al coating was performed. Surface free energy measurements were conducted on the plasma-sputtered surfaces. Cross-sectional observations were carried out on the coating/substrate interface by using scanning electron microscopy. Corrosion resistance of the deposited films was characterized using potentiodynamic polarization curve test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
Findings
Results demonstrated that surface free energy values were increased by increasing the sputtering time before coating process. The corrosion current density of the IVD Al coating deposited after 15 min Ar plasma pretreatment is three orders of magnitude lower than that of steel ST37 substrate. The EIS tests confirm the excellent anticorrosive properties of the Al-coated specimens.
Originality/value
With the increase in the plasma pretreatment time, coating adhesion would ameliorate because of the presence of plasma, which makes substrates a better place for Al ions to set and prevent any gap between coatings and substrates. This fact can be attributed to an increase in the surface free energy and reduction of contact angle of substrate exposed to plasma pre-treatment.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper analyzes what factors drive a company’s decision to align financial and management accounting policies as a measure of integration of management accounting and financial accounting at the highest hierarchy levels of a company.
Methodology/approach
Research hypotheses for six different determinants are developed: company size, number of operating segments and subsidiaries, internationality of the business, business strategy, company life cycle stage, and leverage. The hypotheses are tested using International Financial Reporting Standards 8 (IFRS 8) segment report data from a large sample of 175 German publicly listed companies.
Findings
A higher internationality of the business causes companies to choose a lower degree of integration. Companies with a prospector (defender) strategy choose a lower (higher) degree of integration. Companies in later life cycle stages and with higher leverage choose a lower degree of integration as well. Company size does not impact integration.
Practical implications
Companies have to decide whether, and to what extent, to integrate financial and management accounting and align the two sets of accounting policies. German companies have traditionally kept the two sets separate. As the research reported in this paper sheds light on when companies do not consider integration to be beneficial, it is useful for practitioners.
Originality/value
The legal reporting requirements in Germany as well as German accounting traditions make the German setting particularly suited for examining the integration of management accounting and financial accounting. Using the number of adjustments to financial accounting policies made for management accounting purposes is a novel approach, and the number of adjustments is a more fine-grained measure of integration at the highest hierarchy levels of a company than the measures used in prior literature.

Abstract
The study aims to investigate the evolving dynamics of India’s agricultural sector, particularly the shift from reliance on informal money lenders to a more prominent role of institutional credit in recent decades. This transition is seen as empowering farmers with increased access to funds for crucial investments in areas such as better seeds, fertilizers, irrigation systems and mechanization. Employing the Vector Autoregressive methodology on secondary data sources spanning from 1990 to 2022, the researchers seek to explore the impact of institutional credit on the agricultural sector. To address this, researchers used direct institutional credit and the share of gross value added of agriculture and allied sectors at current prices, finding that neither of them causes the other. Further analysis concludes that in the future, the contribution of credit will have some impact on development. Recognizing the significance of agriculture as the backbone of many economies, the study emphasizes the potential contributions of enhancing this sector through improved practices, advanced technologies and enhanced rural infrastructure. Ultimately, such developments are expected to drive increased productivity and overall output in the agricultural landscape, making a substantial contribution to economic growth.

Abstract
Purpose
The environmental, social and governance (ESG) movement has become a global phenomenon, penetrating even the sports branding industry. Accordingly, this study investigated whether ESG activities can lead to positive attitudes among customers and thereby affect their behavioral intentions.
Design/methodology/approach
We collected data by administering questionnaires to 154 consumers, after which we conducted partial least squares structural equation modeling to test the hypothesized relationships.
Findings
The results indicated that ESG activities favorably influenced brand image and brand loyalty. Brand loyalty was positively associated with the willingness to pay (WTP) for a price premium. The indirect effect of brand loyalty was confirmed in the association between ESG activities and WTP a price premium. ESG activities indirectly affected WTP a price premium via serial mediation through brand image and brand loyalty.
Originality/value
This research extends our understanding of the mechanism behind consumers’ decision-making processes on the basis of ESG activities and their impact on WTP a price premium.

Abstract
Purpose
Corrosion protection is one of the important performance properties of organic coatings. The purpose of this paper is to develop a paint system for the protection of steel substrates from corrosion at high temperature atmospheres using silicone resin blend materials.
Design/methodology/approach
An anti‐corrosion paint system for high temperature atmosphere has been developed using silicone polyester resins. Silicone resin has been chosen due to its good resistance for corrosion in all kinds of environments. The paint system was prepared from the best performing binder system with the addition of inorganic pigments. Heat stability was studied according to ASTM D2485 standards. Adhesion, impact resistance, film formation, thermal stability and electrochemical properties of the prepared coatings were evaluated by cross hatch adhesion method, tubular impact testing, scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (ELS), respectively.
Findings
The paint system possessed good adhesion properties and had high‐impact resistance. The SEM graphs showed the uniform formation of the film surface. From thermal analyses, the prepared paint system withstood temperatures up to 400°C. The heat‐treated specimen has also been evaluated for corrosion protection by EIS, which showed high resistance after 30 days of immersion in 3 percent NaCl solution.
Originality/value
In this work, an attempt has been made to develop a good paint system using silicone resin and polyester resin blend materials. This research will be useful for the application for high temperature atmosphere and it can give a valuable guidance to the students who are interested in pursuing research in organic coatings.

Limited research examines the triple-A supply chain of agility, adaptability and alignment. The purpose of this paper is to draw on extant literature under the lens of resource orchestration theory to develop a comprehensive framework of antecedents and consequences of triple-A supply chains, allowing both scholars and practitioners to benchmark and prioritize triple-A capabilities.
Design/methodology/approach
A systematic literature review focusing on four supply chain journals is conducted to integrate the distinct bodies of knowledge on supply chain agility, adaptability and alignment.
Findings
The integration of this literature identifies common and distinct antecedents and consequences of each, developing a comprehensive model of triple-A supply chains as well as proposing opportunities for further study.
Originality/value
Limited studies to date have an integrated agility, adaptability and alignment, thus lacking a comprehensive framework of triple-A supply chains. Managers can use the findings to determine actions needed to deploy triple-A capabilities and better understand the resulting potential benefits.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to examine and compare extant literature on the application of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques in humanitarian operations (HOs) and humanitarian supply chains (HSCs). It identifies the status of existing research in the field and suggests a roadmap for academicians to undertake further research in HOs and HSCs using MCDM techniques.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper systematically reviews the research on MCDM applications in HO and HSC domains from 2011 to 2022, as the field gained traction post-2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami phenomena. In the first step, an exhaustive search for journal articles is conducted using 48 keyword searches. To ensure quality, only those articles published in journals featuring in the first quartile of the Scimago Journal Ranking were selected. A total of 103 peer-reviewed articles were selected for the review and then segregated into different categories for analysis.
Findings
The paper highlights insufficient high-quality research in HOs that utilizes MCDM methods. It proposes a roadmap for scholars to enhance the research outcomes by advocating adopting mixed methods. The analysis of various studies revealed a notable absence of contextual reference. A contextual mind map specific to HOs has been developed to assist future research endeavors. This resource can guide researchers in determining the appropriate contextual framework for their studies.
Practical implications
This paper will help practitioners understand the research carried out in the field. The aspiring researchers will identify the gap in the extant research and work on future research directions.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first literature review on applying MCDM in HOs and HSCs. It summarises the current status and proposes future research directions.

So our governments ought to continue to work towards eradicating poverty, reducing disparities of income and wealth, eliminating corruption and indeed formulating good governance policies. On the other hand terrorism is a big challenge to nation’s rules and regulation, human rights more particularly it is a threat to economic – political – social system of a nation. India is a complex society to govern. The Central government and the State governments have their own jurisdictions on many matters and both share the power to legislate on many subjects. It is important to recognize that continuous terrorist attacks in India have affected the social and economic development of the country and more seriously, undermined the democratic fabric and the governance capabilities of our society. This paper will make an effort to provide a framework for good governance in India with the help of worldwide governance indicators and this will also try to identify its essential features and the major challenges before it. Particularly this paper will identify terrorism as a challenge to democracy as well as good governance in India.
