Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of the study is to enhance the quality of education in rural management through the inclusion of students’ voices, namely, active participation in the curriculum development intervention. This approach aims to foster critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity, thereby enhancing student engagement and in turn leading to quality education.
Design/methodology/approach
This methodology outlines an inductive approach using focus group discussions (FGD) and thematic analysis to explore and understand the constructs related to the impact of students’ voice on quality education. Curriculum development in rural management was used as an intervention to assess the impact of the inclusion of students’ voice. This study’s inductive approach and qualitative methods provide a rich understanding of students’ experiences and perspectives.
Findings
The findings from the FGD and thematic analysis provided insights into the inclusion of students’ voice in rural management curriculum development, an intervention that enhanced the 4C’s (collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking) of learning and student engagement. The emerging themes illustrated the intervention’s positive effects on quality education.
Research limitations/implications
This research extends the current knowledge by shedding light on integrating Kolb’s experiential learning theory with Laurillards’ conversational framework in achieving quality education in rural management which has not been extensively explored.
Practical implications
The paper underscores the importance of students’ voice in quality education. It provides a basis for policymakers to mandate that higher education institutions increase student engagement, thereby promoting quality education.
Originality/value
The findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the field of quality education (Sustainable Development Goal 4) in rural management. The results of our study provide a novel perspective on the experiential learning of students, which has practical implications and advances the understanding of quality education for sustainable development in business education.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of artificial intelligence interventions in transforming learning and development of organizations and to investigate whether artificial intelligence can replace traditional learning methods.
Design/methodology/approach
Mixed method approach was adopted to conduct the study. The sample size for quantitative study was 300 employees belonging to domains of technology, finance, health care and manufacturing. Structural equation modeling was done to arrive at the results. The qualitative study was done on 25 employees by conducting in-depth interviews followed by thematic analysis.
Findings
The findings of quantitative study revealed that perceived usefulness, perceived experience and learning effectiveness significantly contributed to transformation of traditional learning. The same was validated by qualitative study, and it also indicated that respondents preferred blended learning and artificial intelligence cannot replace traditional learning.
Originality/value
The study contributes to research by highlighting the impact of artificial intelligence in transformation of traditional learning and development based on departmental and job-specific roles as well as sectors that require physical training in addition to knowledge-based training.

Abstract
Purpose
Lean healthcare (LHC) applies lean philosophy in the healthcare sector to promote a culture of continuous improvement through the elimination of non-value-added activities. Studies on the subject can be classified as conceptual (theoretical) or analytical (applied). Therefore, this research compares bibliometric indicators between conceptual and analytical articles on LHC.
Design/methodology/approach
For data collection, the PRISMA Protocol was employed, and 488 articles published from 2009 to 2021, indexed in the Scopus and WoS databases, were retrieved.
Findings
This study reveals how conceptual and analytical LHC studies are organized in terms of the most relevant journals, articles, institutions, countries, the total number of citations, collaboration networks (co-authorship, international collaboration network and institutional collaboration network) and main co-words.
Originality/value
Only four papers conducting bibliometric analysis on LHC studies were identified in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. In addition, none of these papers compared conceptual and analytical bibliometric indicators to reveal the evolution, organization and trends of each category. Therefore, this work is not only the first to make this comparison but also the first to analyze the collaboration between authors, institutions and countries in relation to studies on LHC. The analyses performed in this work allow one new possible understanding, by researchers and health professionals, of the literature behavior in this field of study.

Abstract
Purpose
Several authors have examined the lean healthcare literature, but besides all efforts made, articles comparing conceptual and analytical studies were not found. Thus, a systematic review is conducted aiming to understand the state of the art of lean healthcare by investigating and comparing how conceptual and analytical articles address tools/methods, application fields, implementation barriers and facilitators and positive and negative impacts.
Design/methodology/approach
Articles in English about lean healthcare, published in journals in the last ten years (2009–2018) and indexed in Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus were examined and assessed by following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes (PRISMA) protocol. A qualitative content analysis on the eligible articles was conducted, and results from the conceptual and analytical studies were compared.
Findings
There is a literature gap regarding tools/methods in both conceptual and analytical approaches once they prioritize for different items. Barriers, facilitators and negative impacts are perceived differently within both categories and might require more extensive analysis. The same items prevail in both conceptual and analytical categories when analyzing healthcare fields and positive impacts.
Originality/value
There is a lack of articles comparing conceptual and analytical studies concerning lean healthcare. So, this study's relevance is in identifying theoretical and applied research gaps to strengthen the lean healthcare state of the art and to integrate theoretical-applied knowledge. For healthcare professionals, it might provide an overview of the key factors that can promote lean implementation.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper seeks to review the adaptation and application of mindfulness‐based psychotherapeutic practices for individuals with intellectual disability, the population most at risk for mental health and behavioral challenges.
Design/methodology/approach
Provided is an overview of the adaptation and utilization of these practices in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, and maladaptive behavior in individuals with intellectual disabilities. It also explores current research related to mindfulness‐based stress management for parents and caregivers of individuals with intellectual disability.
Findings
Current research and practice supports that mindfulness‐based psychotherapeutic practices are clinically effective in the treatment of anxiety, mood, stress, aggression, and self‐injury in individuals with intellectual disabilities, and enhanced coping and stress management in their parents and caregivers.
Practical implications
The effective, experiential, and skills‐based practices of mindfulness‐based psychotherapy make it easily adaptable and applicable for use with individuals with intellectual disabilities who have varying mental health and behavioral challenges.
Originality/value
Very little has been published on the adaptation and application of mindfulness‐based psychotherapeutic practices for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Given the mental health and behavioral challenges faced by this population, there is a great need for individuals with intellectual disabilities to have effective and practical treatment such as mindfulness‐based psychotherapy. Further research and utilization of these practices with this population is needed.

Abstract
Purpose
Healthcare organizations have been facing challenges due to high costs and low efficiency in health services. The growth of costs and losses caused by avoidable mistakes lead to the search for solutions, and Health Lean Management appears as a potential solution to help in solving service quality problems, as well as reducing risks. This study aims to analyse the state of the art in the literature centred on the Lean approach in the context of risk management in healthcare organizations, and to identify new research opportunities, highlighting possible lines of future research.
Design/methodology/approach
Following a systematic literature review approach, 51 papers were considered relevant for this research, and reviewed to explore the development of literature in this area.
Findings
Based on the results, five main research streams were identified: (1) risk management oriented towards patient safety; (2) risk management oriented towards employee safety; (3) importance of attitudes and behaviours in risk reduction projects; (4) Lean tools used in healthcare risk management and (5) Integration of approaches. Moreover, several shortcomings were identified in literature.
Originality/value
Identified shortcomings represent significant opportunities for further research development.

Abstract
Purpose
The aims of the implementation of lean management in health care are to improve quality of care, to eliminate waste and to increase efficiency. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge by investigating which main socio-technical factors are considered to be effective for the implementation and management of lean initiatives.
Design/methodology/approach
A systematic review of literature reviews on lean management in health care was conducted. The components of the socio-technical system are identified by moving from the socio-technical drivers that support organization-wide quality improvement practices and the lean implementation process in health care. The impacts of lean management are classified using the internal processes, patient, learning and financial dimensions.
Findings
The 28 reviews retrieved confirm the current and increasing interest in lean management. While more than 60% of them call for a system-wide approach, system-wide implementations have rarely been observed, and, instead, adoption in isolated units or departments, or the use of single techniques and tools, prevails. The most commonly investigated socio-technical components are organizational structure, techniques and tools and organizational culture and strategic management. Significant impacts are reported for all the four dimensions. Nonetheless, the review reveals that there is still a lack of evidence on the sustainability of lean results and a need for a standardized impact measurement system.
Originality/value
This work stands out as the first review of reviews of how the socio-technical components of the lean management approach obtain positive impacts within the patient, internal processes, learning and financial dimensions.

The increasing demand for postgraduate education in management in India has resulted in a steep rise in the number of institutes offering such education. However, the quality of education offered in many institutes is seriously being debated by students and prospective employers. The efforts to improve quality appear minimal, resulting in little or no improvement in quality. Provides a summary of status of quality in management education and critically analyses the issue of quality with the backdrop of problems, constraints, and conflicts. Further, the paper describes the structure and pattern of post‐graduate management education as offered in India, along with a description of regulatory agencies existing in the country to monitor the standards of management education. Towards the end, suggests appropriate solutions with several alternatives, to improve quality, discussing also their feasibility. The general objective is to provide help to develop strategies for improving quality of postgraduate education in management.

The purpose of this paper is to obtain correctly classified routes based on their parameters.
Design/methodology/approach
In this paper, a covering rough set (CRS) approach is proposed for route classification in wireless ad hoc networks. In a wireless network, mobile nodes are deployed randomly in a simulation region. This work addresses the problem of route classification.
Findings
The network parameters such as bandwidth, delay, packet byte rate and packet loss rate changes due to the frequent mobility of nodes lead to uncertainty in wireless networks. This type of uncertainty can be very well handled using a rough set concept. An ultimate aim of classification is to correctly predict the decision class for each instance in the data.
Originality/value
The traditional classification algorithms, named K-nearest neighbor, J48, general rough set theory, naive Bayes, JRIP and multilayer perceptron, are used in this work for comparison and for the proposed CRS based on route classification approach revealing better accuracy than traditional classification algorithms.
