Abstract
Purpose
The aim of this study is to investigate the benefits and weaknesses of OpenVPN to access Osiris.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a case study approach to describe a phenomenon. The data collected from observation of the real-world environment.
Findings
The benefits of OpenVPN are the following: librarian can access the Osiris and other resources remotely and safely; OpenVPN protects the connection when accessing the Osiris; and librarian can also manage Osiris systems easily to control access, monitoring the users efficiently. However, there are some drawbacks of OpenVPN, such as network infrastructure dependency, require stabile internet connection, configuration complexity, to arrange and configurate OpenVPN needs skills and knowledge on the related field, data protection and security breach.
Originality/value
The originality of this study is the use of OpenVPN to access Osiris that is managed by library. There are some variables to determine the benefits and drawbacks of the OpenVPN such as managing access, data security and efficiency. This study gives an original contribution to the use of OpenVPN in academic libraries.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the implementation of the traditional Indonesian Dakon game Apps at UNAIR library called Dakon UNAIR Arena (DUNA).
Design/methodology/approach
Traditional games are an important part of a nation’s cultural heritage. However, with technological advances in the digital era, traditional games are often marginalized and forgotten because there are many computer and online-based games invented. Observation of the implementation of DUNA game at UNAIR library has been conducted on DUNA users.
Findings
DUNA game at UNAIR library gives a positive contribution to reviving the traditional Dakon game from Indonesian. Library users who participated in the DUNA game reported an increase in interest and participation in this game. Apart from that, implementing the DUNA increases a sense of pride in local culture and promotes cooperation and social interaction between library users.
Originality/value
The conclusion was that the DUNA game at UNAIR library can be an effective means of bringing back the traditional Indonesian Dakon game in the digital era. It is hoped that this research can encourage the application of other traditional games at library environments and society in general.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in libraries, especially university libraries, which are faced with users from various countries who have different languages and cultures. Seamless M4T, which is being developed, has great potential for helping university librarians maximize library services by providing ease of communication.
Design/methodology/approach
Analyzing the possibility of developing Seamless M4T using natural language processing techniques and how to train language models to be smarter AI tools and can be used to break down language barriers between librarians and users.
Findings
The implementation of AI-based application Seamless M4T can help university librarians provide maximum service to users who are hampered by language and culture with advanced communication skills. Seamless M4T has an automatic speech recognition feature for dozens of languages, so it can translate speech-to-text, text-to-speech or both text and speech. To convert written words into verbal forms, this AI can also translate and transcribe text and speech in real-time without significant delays.
Originality/value
This paper emphasizes the use of AI in university libraries to improve services, especially in communication due to language differences between librarians and users. Advantages in using AI in libraries can support the collaboration and scholarly communication process.

Abstract
Purpose
This study sought to analyze the correlation between artificial intelligence (AI) and libraries and examine whether there were any shifts in research trends related to these two topics during the coronavirus pandemic.
Design/methodology/approach
The study gathered secondary data from the Scopus website using the keywords “AI,” “library” and “repository,” from 1993 to 2022. Data were re-analyzed using the bibliometric software VOSviewer to examine the trending country's keyword relations and appearance and Biblioshiny to study the publication metadata.
Findings
Index keywords, such as “human,” “deep learning,” “machine learning,” “surveys” and “open-source software,” became popular during 2020, being closely related to digital libraries. Additionally, the annual scientific production of papers increased significantly in 2021. Words related to data mining also had the most significant growth from 2019 to 2022 because of the importance of data mining for library services during the pandemic.
Practical implications
This study provides insight for librarians for the implementation of AI to support repositories during the pandemic. Librarians can learn how to maximize the AI-based repository services in academic libraries during the pandemic. Furthermore, academic libraries can create policies for repository services using AI.
Social implications
This study can lead researchers, academicians and practitioners in conducting research on AI in library repositories.
Originality/value
As research on AI and digital repositories remains limited, the study identifies themes and highlights the knowledge gap existing in the field.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to understand the practices and rules of Sharia crowdfunding policies in Indonesia given the rapid growth of financial technology and the increasing importance of crowdfunding as a funding alternative for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Design/methodology/approach
This study used qualitative methods, exploratory methods and literature studies for data collection. The focus is on understanding the regulatory environment and institutional framework that support Sharia crowdfunding in Indonesia.
Findings
Despite a specific law regulating Sharia crowdfunding, several authoritative institutions in Indonesia offer FinTech, crowdfunding and Sharia crowdfunding services. Some regulations have been issued, such as Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 19/12/PBI/2017 and Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regulation Number 37/POJK.04/2018, which was later amended to Number 57/POJK.04/2020. This study emphasizes the crucial role of OJK in providing security guarantees for implementing FinTech, including crowdfunding. At the same time, Sharia crowdfunding also follows fatwas issued by DSN-MUI.
Research limitations/implications
This study describes Sharia crowdfunding policies in Indonesia and indicates that further research could delve deeper into specific cases and examine the impact of these policies on the growth and sustainability of Sharia crowdfunding.
Practical implications
This study underlines the need to enhance Sharia crowdfunding standards and to create rules that explicitly address this issue. This has implications for regulatory authorities, FinTech companies and MSMEs seeking to leverage Sharia crowdfunding.
Social implications
This study suggests potential social implications, including a more inclusive financial system that complies with Islamic principles and supports MSMEs' growth.
Originality/value
This study is unique in its focus on Sharia crowdfunding policies in Indonesia, providing a comprehensive view of the regulatory landscape and existing institutional framework.
