Abstract

The article highlights the importance of the company car as a major motivational tool used by employers when developing their employment policies. Research was carried out in a specific industry to highlight the differences that were perceived by employees in competing companies within a specific market sector. Changes in the Government Tax Laws with regard to “benefit in kind”, have tainted the individuals’ view of what was a key motivational tool. The different variables that employers assume are essential factors are highlighted, whilst closer analysis indicates the differing perceived value to the employee. The differing views are based on the varying levels of needs sustained by employees whilst the examination of the hierarchy of these needs is identified within the target groups selected. A clearer perception of how a major motivational tool can act as a demotivator is highlighted, and the findings are evaluated in the conclusions of the article.

From the perspective of business history, this chapter presents an overview of the development of the tourism sector in South America, placing special emphasis on the Peruvian case. The chapter explores various topics related to the tourism chain, such as hotel networks, the role of the state, tour operators, micro- and small enterprises, linkages between tourism and sustainability, the formation of clusters in the sector, and interactions between different entrepreneurs in the chain. Special emphasis is placed on the Peruvian case, especially when it comes to discussing the role of micro- and small enterprises in the sector.

These are standards of identity and are not to be confused with standards of quality or grade; they are so framed as to exclude substances not mentioned in the definition and in each instance imply that the product is clean and sound. These definitions and standards include those published in S. R. A., F. D. 2, revision 4, and those adopted October 28, 1936.

Abstract

Purpose

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of different AI models in accurately aggregating information about the protein quality (PQ) content of food items using four artificial intelligence (AI) models -– ChatGPT 3.5, ChatGPT 4, Bard AI and Bing Chat.

Design/methodology/approach

A total of 22 food items, curated from the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) report, were input into each model. These items were characterised by their PQ content according to the Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score (DIAAS).

Findings

Bing Chat was the most accurate AI assistant with a mean accuracy rate of 63.6% for all analyses, followed by ChatGPT 4 with 60.6%. ChatGPT 4 (Cohen’s kappa: 0.718, p < 0.001) and ChatGPT 3.5 (Cohen’s kappa: 0.636, p: 0.002) showed substantial agreement between baseline and 2nd analysis, whereas they showed a moderate agreement between baseline and 3rd analysis (Cohen’s kappa: 0.538, p: 0.011 for ChatGPT 4 and Cohen’s kappa: 0.455, p: 0.030 for ChatGPT 3.5).

Originality/value

This study provides an initial insight into how emerging AI models assess and classify nutrient content pertinent to nutritional knowledge. Further research into the real-world implementation of AI for nutritional advice is essential as the technology develops.
