Abstract

THE CHIEF danger with visual aids, particularly films, is passiveness — passiveness on the part of the teacher and of the class. The teacher may think that the film will do his teaching for him, and that there is little for him to do except set up the equipment and dismantle it afterwards. The class will relax and, unless positive steps are taken, regard it as an entertainment. If this happens the showing of a film will do little except waste teaching time.
