Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to alert the European high-yield market to several regulatory developments relating to the adoption of markets in financial instruments directive (MiFID) II.
Design/methodology/approach
Reviews regulatory developments in connection with the MiFID II adoption and implementation, identifies several practical implications for the high-yield market professionals and suggests certain modifications in the banks’ internal protocols and practices that may be required as a result.
Findings
When the provisions of MiFID II are applied on January 3, 2018, they may have a dramatic impact on global financial markets, including a number of practical implications for the high-yield bond market. The burden of implementing MiFID II will be primarily on banks and brokers with minimal impact on the high-yield issuers.
Originality/value
Practical guidance from experienced high yield, securities and financial services lawyers.

Abstract
This paper is about advanced library information systems in Russia. The urgent need is obvious in Russia for library systems based on open standards and Internet technology, and for integrating library systems in common library information space. The Regional University and Science Library Advanced Network in the north‐west of Russia (RUSLANet) Project is an initiative of St Petersburg State Technical University, aimed at joining the collections of university libraries and providing access to them via the Internet. The paper discusses briefly the concept of the RUSLANet Project, ways of implementing it, its position today, and plans for the near future.

Abstract
The article covers the five‐year history of the implementation of Z39.50‐type products in Russia. All existing projects are mentioned in the order of their development. Since the authors are from RUSLANet, that project is described in greater detail. The architecture of a distributed library system, as well as its basic components, are presented, and the place and role of Z39.50 facilities in Russian libraries are highlighted. The obstacles the Russian library community faces in moving to a networked environment are covered. The need to develop uniquely Russian Z39.50 databases grew from specific document‐ processing features within the libraries. Some prospects for future development and use of Z39.50 environment in Russian libraries are also given.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the current situation and history of cooperation and resource sharing in Russian libraries. The resources and services provided cooperatively are described.
Design/methodology/approach
A narrative combining description, surveys, analysis and evaluation.
Findings
Fundamental changes have occurred in Russian libraries as a result of the development of consortia services development, particularly in resource sharing.
Research limitations/implications
Digital libraries and databases subscriptions were not within the scope of this study.
Social implications
The paper demonstrates the efforts of many libraries cooperatively producing services at a national level.
Originality/value
One of the few articles to describe the current state of resource sharing and consortia development in Russia.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to understand how the perceived usefulness of voice assistants (VAs) is affected by the perceived quality of the process (interaction) and the outcome (information). The authors also aim to determine the extent to which the perceived usefulness of VAs improves the perceived privacy associated with their use and increases users’ intention to continue using them. Consumer technology innovativeness is included as a personal trait moderator, to compare the results between tech and nontech innovators. For this purpose, the authors use the framework of the uses and gratifications theory (U>).
Design/methodology/approach
A survey of 467 VA users was conducted and structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data.
Findings
The authors identify two main determinants of the perceived usefulness of VAs that influence users’ intention to continue using this technology, process quality and outcome quality. These two factors influence the continued use of VAs in different ways depending on the technology innovativeness of the consumers. The results show that tech innovators are oriented toward the interactive experience, and therefore, mainly value the process quality. In addition, nontech innovators are oriented toward a satisfactory response from VAs, and therefore, primarily value the outcome quality. In addition, the positive effect of perceived usefulness on perceived privacy is higher for tech innovators.
Originality/value
This study enhances the literature on the perceived usefulness of VAs within the framework of U>. It identifies two antecedents (process quality and outcome quality) of perceived usefulness and observes significant differences based on technological innovativeness.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo entender cómo la utilidad percibida de los Asistentes de Voz (AV) se ve afectada por la calidad percibida del proceso (interacción) y el resultado (información). Asimismo, busca determinar hasta qué punto la utilidad percibida de los AVs mejora la privacidad percibida asociada con su uso y, consecuentemente, la intención de los usuarios de seguir utilizándolos. La innovación tecnológica se incluye como moderador personal para comparar los resultados entre innovadores tecnológicos y no tecnológicos. Para este propósito, utilizamos la Teoría de Usos y Gratificaciones (U>).
Diseño
Se realizó una encuesta a 467 usuarios de AVs, y se utilizó la modelización de ecuaciones estructurales (SEM) para analizar los datos.
Resultados
La calidad del proceso y la calidad del resultado son antecedentes claros de la utilidad percibida de los AVs, que afecta a la intención de los usuarios de seguir usándolos. La influencia de ambos factores difiere entre usuarios según su nivel de innovación tecnológica. Los resultados muestran que los innovadores tecnológicos valoran más la experiencia interactiva y la calidad del proceso, mientras que los no innovadores tecnológicos se enfocan en obtener respuestas satisfactorias de los AVs. Además, la influencia positiva de la utilidad percibida en la privacidad percibida es más pronunciada en los innovadores tecnológicos.
Originalidad
Este estudio enriquece la literatura sobre la utilidad percibida de los AVs dentro del marco de la U>. Identifica dos factores previos (calidad del proceso y calidad del resultado) de la utilidad percibida y observa diferencias significativas basadas en la innovación tecnológica.

Abstract
Purpose
The aim of this paper is to propose extended intellectual capital (IC) indicators. The study shows that the essence of IC in the context of value is residual income, its growth rate and growth rate of equity taken together. It allows creating IC measures (modified residual income and economic value added of equity) that contain these components. The study investigates the relationship between IC and market value for Russian public firms.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors propose modified residual income and modified economic value added of equity as IC metrics. This study tests a relationship between market value and IC to investigate suggested metrics. Static and dynamic panel data models are used. 25 companies from the MOEX Russia Index were included in the study. The study covers the period from 2014 to 2018.
Findings
The findings show a strong positive relationship between market value and IC. The results confirm that extended IC measures have a stronger connection to market value.
Practical implications
Firstly, these results benefit managers. They can use proposed extended IC measures as targets for the company when planning business strategy and generating business environment. Secondly, suggested IC measures can help shareholders and investors achieve their long-term goal – wealth maximization.
Originality/value
The value of this article is the development of IC theory and valuation. The proposed measures differ in the way that they consider the growth rates – the main determinants of value along with efficiency.

Technology serves as a key catalyst in shaping society and the economy, significantly altering customer dynamics. Through a deep understanding of these evolving behaviors, a service can be tailored to address each customer's unique needs and personality. We introduce a strategy to integrate customer complaints with their personality traits, enabling responses that resonate with the customer’s unique personality.
Design/methodology/approach
We propose a strategy to incorporate customer complaints with their personality traits, enabling responses that reflect the customer’s unique personality. Our approach is twofold: firstly, we employ the customer complaints ontology (CCOntology) framework enforced with multi-class classification based on a machine learning algorithm, to classify complaints. Secondly, we leverage the personality measurement platform (PMP), powered by the big five personality model to predict customer’s personalities. We develop the framework for the Indonesian language by extracting tweets containing customer complaints directed towards Indonesia's three biggest e-commerce services.
Findings
By mapping customer complaints and their personality type, we can identify specific personality traits associated with customer dissatisfaction. Thus, personalizing how we offer the solution based on specific characteristics.
Originality/value
The research enriches the state-of-the-art personalizing service research based on captured customer behavior. Thus, our research fills the research gap in considering customer personalities. We provide comprehensive insights by aligning customer feedback with corresponding personality traits extracted from social media data. The result is a highly customized response mechanism attuned to individual customer preferences and requirements.
