Abstract
The dyeing of cotton and cotton/wool blend fabric by using reactive dyes has been studied with both conventional heating and microwave irradiation. The effects of the dye bath pH, microwave power, dyeing time and dye concentration are studied and the resulting shades obtained by dyeing through microwave and conventional techniques are compared. The results of the dyed samples indicate that microwave irradiation is more effective than conventional heating. Color strength values obtained are found to be higher by microwave irradiation. The results of the fastness properties of the dyed fabric are good to very good. The dyeing kinetics of cotton and cotton/wool blend fabrics are also compared by using the two methods. The values of the dyeing rate constant, half dyeing time (t 1/2), stander affinity and microwave efficiency are calculated and discussed. The physical properties of the samples are studied before and after exposure to microwave irradiation by a scanning electron microscope and an x- ray analysis.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of functional properties of the polysaccharide-based component and their application in developing edible film and coating for the food processing sector.
Design/methodology/approach
In this review study, approximately 271 research and review articles focusing on studies related to polysaccharide-based components and their film-forming properties. This article also focused on the application of polysaccharide-based edible film in the food sector.
Findings
From the literature reviewed, polysaccharide components and components-based edible film/coating is the biodegradable and eco-friendly packaging of the materials and directly consumed by the consumer with food. It has been reported that the polysaccharide components have excellent properties such as being nontoxic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antifungal and with good nutrients. The polysaccharide-based edible film has lipid and gas barrier properties with excellent transparency and mechanical strength. In various studies, researchers worked on the development of polysaccharide-based edible film and coating by incorporating plant based natural antioxidants. This was primarily done for obtaining improved physical and chemical properties of the edible film and coating. In future, the technology of developing polysaccharide-based edible film and coating could be used for extending the shelf life and preserving the quality of fruits and vegetables at a commercial level. There is more need to understand the role of edible packaging and sustainability in the food and environment sector.
Originality/value
Through this review paper, possible applications of polysaccharide-based components and their function property in the formation of the edible film and their effect on fruits, vegetables and other food products are discussed after detailed studies of literature from thesis and journal article.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to develop and apply clinically relevant methods of analysing the accuracy of dental appliances fabricated using additive manufacture (AM) compared to the computer-aided design (CAD) geometry. The study also compared fit between conventionally laboratory-fabricated and AM-produced base plates.
Design/methodology/approach
The techniques were applied to two types of dental devices where AM fabrication methods could foreseeably be used as an alternative to laboratory production. “L” and cubic shapes of defined dimensions and spatial locations were positioned on the devices which were fabricated using AM. For assessing the dimensions, the “L” and cubic shapes were then measured on the physical builds ten times and compared to the CAD model. To assess the fit of AM and lab-produced devices, three upper and three lower conventionally fabricated acrylic base plates were compared to three upper and three lower plates. Silicone impression material was allowed to set between the casts and the base plates which filled any discrepancy between the two surfaces. The thickness of this silicone media was measured ten times at five different points on each base plate type and the results compared.
Findings
The results indicated that the evaluated CAD/AM technique is able to produce dental appliance components that are consistent with tolerance levels that would be expected with conventional methods of baseplate design. This research demonstrated that a fully CAD/AM methodology represents a potentially viable alternative to conventional lab-based methods for two types of dental appliances.

Abstract
Purpose
In recent years, rough set theory has evolved as one of the most promising classification techniques. One of the cardinal uses of rough set theory is its application for rule generation. The purpose of this paper is to propose a real-time fabric inspection technique. This work deals with the multi-class classification of fabric defects using rough set theory.
Design/methodology/approach
This technique focuses on the classification of fabric defects using the effective decision rules envisaged by rough set theory. In the proposed work, the six features of 50 images have been used for multiclass classification of fabric defects.
Findings
In this work, 40 images were used for generation of decision rules and 10 unseen images were used for validation out of which nine images are accurately predicted by the proposed technique.
Originality/value
The proposed method accurately identified 9 out of 10 testing defects. The obtained decision rules provide an insight about the classification method which ensures that the prediction accuracy can be improved further by framing more robust decision rules with the help of a large training data set. Thus, with the support of modern computational systems this method is potent in getting recognition from the textile industry as a real-time classification technique.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to analyze the time-varying dynamic connectedness among environmental, social and governance (ESG)-compliant firms, Fintech-based firms and artificial intelligence (AI) firm’s stocks.
Design/methodology/approach
To examine the spillover from globally leading companies that systematically follow ESG reporting and standards into their financial books to top AI-based and Fintech-based companies, we use the daily observation extending from December 31, 2019 to October 9, 2023. For the empirical investigation, Diebold and Yilmaz (2012) model and Baruník and Křehlík (2018) model are employed.
Findings
An intriguing observation is found for both recipient and transmission as Northrop Grumman remains the least shock transmitter and receiver among all constituent markets irrespective of two different used models. On this note, Northrop Grumman can be classified among the safest stock comparatively which has to be held in short, medium and long run to mitigate the risk.
Originality/value
After extensive existing literature review and to the best of the authors knowledge, it is a novel study that examines the dynamic connectedness among ESG, Fintech and AI stocks covering two unprecedented events like the COVID-19 outbreak and the Russia–Ukraine invasion.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to identify how internal marketing can be used to increase the satisfaction and retention of Generation Z employees within the global banking sector, and the changes which organizations must make to their internal marketing strategies to achieve these outcomes.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper adopts a qualitative, cross-sectional and descriptive research methodology. Data are collected through individual and focus group interviews of 38 Generation Z banking employees and of 28 older colleagues engaged in internal marketing. Thematic coding is undertaken using template analysis.
Findings
The results indicate clearly that Generation Z employees have different expectations of internal marketing from previous generations. Specifically, they demand more inclusive tones and interactive methods of communication, validation of their choice of employer and industry, and greater levels of interaction and inclusivity within internal marketing initiatives.
Originality/value
This is the first study to analyse how internal marketing in the banking sector must evolve to meet the needs of its Generation Z employees. This is critical as Generation Z is the world’s largest generational population, will staff almost all entry-level roles by 2030, and already has half its population in the workplace.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to examine the connectedness among Memecoin, Halal exchange traded funds (ETF) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) indexes in different quantiles.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors consider Dogecoin to measure Memecoin while Wahed FTSE USA Shariah ETF (HLAL) and SP Funds S&P 500 Sharia Industry Exclusions ETF (SPUS) are used to represent Halaf ETF. Similarly, iShares ESG Aware MSCI USA ETF (ESGU) and Vanguard ESG US Stock (ESGV) proxy the ESG index ETF. The daily price of these examined markets is considered from January 2, 2020, to January 18, 2024. The quantile vector autoregression is deployed for the empirical computation.
Findings
The result reveals that Memecoin (Dogecoin) emerges as the best diversifier irrespective of various quantiles because it is least connected in terms of recipient and transmission of shock. In addition, the authors observe an intriguing observation that the total connectedness in higher quantile is large, followed by lower quantile.
Originality/value
This study is undertaken considering the novelty in the form of the proxies of examined markets along with natural outbreak (COVID-19) and man-made outbreak (Russia–Ukraine invasion) periods.

Abstract
Purpose
Due to herbs and plants’ therapeutic properties and simplicity of availability in nature, humans have used them to treat a variety of maladies and diseases since ancient times. Later, as technology advanced, these plants and herbs gained significant relevance in some industries due to their suitable chemical composition, abundant availability and ease of access. Aegle marmelos is a species of plant that may be found in nature. Yet, little or very little literature was located on the coloration behavior of this plant’s leaves. This study aims to focus on the effect of different parameters on the extraction of colorant from Aegle marmelos leaves.
Design/methodology/approach
Some factors that affected on the extraction processes were examined and found to have significant impacts on the textile dyeing such as the initial dye concentration, extracted temperature, extracted bath pH and extracted time were all changed to see how they affected color extraction. The authors report a direct comparison between three heating methods, namely, microwave irradiation (MWI), ultrasonic waves (USW) and conventional heating (CH). The two kinetic models have been designed (pseudo-first and pseudo-second orders) in the context of these experiments to investigate the mechanism of the dyeing processes for fabrics under study. Also, the experimental data were analyzed according to the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms.
Findings
From the result, it was discovered these characteristics were found to have a substantial effect on extraction efficiency. Temperature 90°C and 80°C when using CH and USW, respectively, while at 90% watt when using MWI, period 120 min when using CH as well as USW waves, while 40 min when using MWI, and pH 4, 5 and 10 for polyamide, wool and cotton, respectively, were the optimal extraction conditions. Also, the authors can say that wool gives a higher absorption than the other fabric. Additionally, MWI provided the best color strength (K/S) value, and homogeneity, at low temperatures reducing the energy and time consumed. The coloring follows the order: MWI > USW > CH. The adsorption isotherm of wool could be well fitted by Freundlich isotherm when applying CH and USW as a heating source, while it is well fitted by the Langmuir equation in the case of MWI. In the study, it was observed that the pseudo-first-order kinetic model fits better the experimental results of CH with a constant rate K1 = −0.000171417 mg/g.min, while the pseudo-second-order kinetic model fits better the experimental results of absorption of both MWI (K2 = 38.14022572 mg/g.min) and USW (K2 = 12.45343554 mg/g.min).
Research limitations/implications
There is no research limitation for this work. Dye was extracted from Aegle marmelos leaves by applying three different heating sources (MWI, ultrasonic waves [USWW] and CH).
Practical implications
This work has practical applications for the textile industry. It is concluded that using Aegle marmelose leaves can be a possible alternative to extract dye from natural resource by applying new technology to save energy and time and can make the process greener.
Social implications
Socially, it has a good impact on the ecosystem and global community because the extracted dye does not contain any carcinogenic materials.
Originality/value
The work is original and contains value-added products for the textile industry and other confederate fields.

Abstract
Purpose
Career adaptability is emerging as an important research area in today's uncertain, volatile world of work created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study focuses on career adaptability research post-COVID-19 by scientifically capturing the literature evolution, hotspots and future trends using bibliometric analysis.
Design/methodology/approach
The Scopus database, due to its vast and quality literature, was used to search the papers from the period 2020 to 2023. Bibliometric data were extracted and analyzed from the relevant literature. For further scientific mapping, VOSviewer and Biblioshiny software tools were used.
Findings
Findings of the analysis suggest a positive research trend related to career adaptability research post-Covid. Keyword analysis revealed noteworthy clusters and important themes. Bibliometric visual networks regarding authors, sources, citations, future themes, etc. are also presented from the 441 analyzed publications with comprehensive interpretation.
Research limitations/implications
The literature for carrying out the bibliometric analysis was confined to the Scopus database. Other databases in combination with different software can be used for future niche research. From the analysis, future research avenues and practical interventions are presented which have significant implications for future researchers, career counselors and managers.
Originality/value
The study summarizes the recent literature on career adaptability in the aftermath of the pandemic and makes a novel contribution to the existing literature. A reliable study has been provided by the authors using the scientific bibliometric technique. The study highlights emerging research trends post the pandemic. The results are concluded with further suggestions which can guide future research related to the topic.
