Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to report on the findings of an investigation to compare three different three-dimensional printing (3DP) or additive manufacturing technologies [i.e. fused deposition modeling (FDM), stereolithography (SLA) and material jetting (MJ)] and four different equipment (FDM, SLA, MJP 2600 and Object 260) in terms of their dimensional process capability (dimensional accuracy and surface roughness). It provides a comprehensive and comparative understanding about the level of attainable dimensional accuracy, repeatability and surface roughness of commonly used 3DP technologies. It is expected that these findings will help other researchers and industrialists in choosing the right technology and equipment for a given 3DP application.
Design/methodology/approach
A benchmark model of 5 × 5 cm with several common and challenging features, such as around protrusion and hole, flat surface, micro-scale ribs and micro-scale long channels was designed and printed repeatedly using four different equipment of three different 3DP technologies. The dimensional accuracy of the printed models was measured using non-contact digital measurement methods. The surface roughness was evaluated using a digital profilometer. Finally, the surface quality and edge sharpness were evaluated under a reflected light ZEISS microscope with a 50× magnification objective.
Findings
The results show that FDM technology with the used equipment results in a rough surface and loose dimensional accuracy. The SLA printer produced a smoother surface, but resulted in the distortion of thin features (<1 mm). MJ printers, on the other hand, produced comparable surface roughness and dimensional accuracy. However, ProJet MJP 3600 produced sharper edges when compared to the Objet 260 that produced round edges.
Originality/value
This paper, for the first time, provides a comprehensive comparison of three different commonly used 3DP technologies in terms of their dimensional capability and surface roughness without farther post-processing. Thus, it offers a reliable guideline for design consideration and printer selection based on the target application.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study aims to examine sports tourism through a conceptual lens. The study offers a deep assessment of the general structure and purpose of sports tourism. Thus, the authors aim to determine the contributions of scientific studies in the field of sports tourism to sports tourism literature.
Design/methodology/approach
A qualitative research design was created and data collected using document analysis. The research articles were categorized and analyzed according to their objectives, journals of publication, keywords, application areas, research methods used, data collection techniques and findings
Findings
It was been determined that the research articles in the field of sports tourism contributed significantly to the sports tourism literature and to the cumulative progress of the field.
Research limitations/implications
The implications of this study is that only publications in the field of sports tourism (in the tourism category) indexed in the Web of Science between 2014 and 2018 were examined.
Practical implications
Studies to be carried out in the field of sports tourism should be seen as continuations, rather than repetitions, of one another. Thus, more information about the field of sports tourism is needed to better articulate the structure of the field for the benefit of future researchers.
Social implications
There is a need for studies to contribute to the development of sports tourism in the literature. This study aims to take a step in this direction. With the increase of activities to be carried out in both the field and practice of sports tourism, a better relationship will be established between sports, local people and relevant stakeholders.
Originality/value
More theoretical studies in this field (Gibson, 1998a; Soedjatmiko, 2015) suggest that the field of sports tourism can be further developed. In light of this call, the present study will provide an overview of sports tourism research as a whole, thus contributing to future research by its own merits. It will guide the authors to determine how activities in the field of sports tourism have grown and how they are progressing

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine the research efficiency of the research universities in Türkiye and to identify potential areas for improvement and to examine the factors affecting efficiency.
Design/methodology/approach
For this purpose, data envelopment analysis was conducted with the output-oriented Banker, Charnes and Cooper (BCC) model with five-year article and citation counts data of 23 universities which were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection.
Findings
The findings of the study show that only eight research universities are efficient. There are areas of development for universities to be effective. In addition, the findings of the regression analysis conducted to reveal the determinants of efficiency revealed significant results.
Research limitations/implications
Research universities in Türkiye should allocate their resources in a way to increase research performance. Policies should be developed to increase the number of publications and, more importantly, the quality of publications.
Originality/value
Potential areas for improvement were identified for the universities to become efficient. The results revealed that both publication quality and productivity need to be improved, but there is more room for improvement in publication quality. Regression analysis with the determinants of efficiency scores shows that the development level of the region where the universities are located has a positive effect on the research efficiency of universities. In addition, it is concluded that smaller universities have better efficiency scores.
