Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to perform a systematic review of the dialectics and telematics strategy for regulating religion during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study also analyzes some important issues related to religions, state, and society.
Design/methodology/approach
A critical literature review was performed to complete this study, using media, institutional, national, and international reports, as well as recent and previous studies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Findings
Religion was one of the social entities that had a crucial effect on the COVID-19 pandemic. The new system in the form of social distancing affects its performance. Furthermore, the response of religion in Indonesia is unique when its status is considered as the largest Islamic country in the world. Therefore, this study attempts to analyze and demonstrate the dynamics of relationships between actors, religion, and state in the process and strategy of religious regulation.
Research limitations/implications
This study was carried out using a single methodological approach.
Practical implications
This study provides input to both religion and the state (government) in building a synergy of constructive responses to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Social implications
It provides input to society in understanding the critical intersection between religion, state, and society.
Originality/value
This may be the first academic study that analyzes the problems of the process of regulating religion in the context of COVID-19.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to make the implementation of a recommended Web service that allows one to formalize the search for a suitable coworking according to individual preferences as a decision-making task, as well as find a coworking area in an optimized setting for both the individual employee and those who carry out collective professional activities from a large number of alternatives in a shorter time.
Design/methodology/approach
In the implemented system of each place category in coworking areas, a search will be carried out according to formalized parameters and with an individual approach. To find the set of the required services of the coworking zone, the target functions of maximizing the priority of the place and minimizing the cost are determined, between which the user can set the ratio. As a constraint, the general fund of financial expenses for the time to reach the zone from different locations is used. The results of problem formalization are presented in the form of a mathematical model.
Findings
The use of a problem-oriented solution can significantly reduce the laboriousness of finding a suitable workspace.
Originality/value
The development of coworking zone practices contributes to the development of a professional infrastructure of the city and minimizes the cost of equipping each enterprise with additional tools, as well as manages labor resources and tracks trends of both professional and novice workers’ needs.

Abstract
Purpose
The study was designed to investigate the bidirectional causation between the real estate market characteristics (residential property prices/rents (including PTR), office rents) and the rise of coworking spaces (CSs) in the peripheral areas of Germany.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the desk research, the authors constructed their own database of 1,201 CSs. The authors gathered data on the residential and office prices and rents on a district level. To identify real market differences between districts with and without CSs, the authors applied the t-test for independent samples.
Findings
The second-highest number of CSs were found to operate in the office market peripheries. This phenomenon should be explained by a search for lower office rents, which CSs seek. Most CSs in the peripheral areas of Germany were only recently established in tourist-oriented regions in the south and north of Germany. In this paper, the authors confirmed that the strength of peripheral CSs lies in the hybridity of their operations: for the majority of CSs, running a CS is a non-core business. The authors argue that the role of CSs is rather limited in attracting real estate investors and boosting the real estate market in the peripheral areas of Germany.
Practical implications
The research shows that peripheral locations are attracting CSs to significant extent. The study shows that CSs can be part of corporate real estate or workplace strategies. As the majority of peripheral CSs are located in tourism areas, the subletting of vacant spaces could be a lucrative business model for hotels, particularly in the times of pandemics. Therefore, further research should focus on the role of tourist areas in the implementation of CSs model.
Originality/value
The focus of this study (CSs in peripheral areas) is original. Additionally, applying the real estate perspective to study the location of CSs is novel as well.
