Abstract
By the year 2000 electronics will be the largest single industry the world has yet seen, with an output valued at around 1400 billion US dollars. Changes in technologies and markets combined with rapid growth in specialisation and globalisation, is making this an extremely complex industry and SMT is not exempt from these trends.

Abstract
This chapter examines the structure and sentiment of the Twitter response to Nathan Broad's naming as the originator of an image-based sexual abuse incident following the 2017 Australian Football League Grand Final. Employing Social Network Analysis to visualize the hierarchy of Twitter users responding to the incident and Applied Thematic Analysis to trace the diffusion of differing streams of sentiment within this hierarchy, we produced a representation of participatory social media engagement in the context of image-based sexual abuse. Following two streams of findings, a model of social media user engagement was established that hierarchized the interplay between institutional and personal Twitter users. In this model, it was observed that the Broad incident generated sympathetic and compassionate discourses among an articulated network of social media users. This sentiment gradually diffused to institutional Twitter users – or Reference accounts – through the process of intermedia agenda-setting, whereby the narrative of terrestrial media accounts was altered by personal Twitter users over time.

Abstract
Previous research has been relatively insensitive to the potential combined effects that the shared industry background and country of origin might play in the development of MNCs. This is although there are various external constituents that pose distinctive demands especially on such groups of MNCs. The 15-year period of internationalization of three major Finnish paper companies examined in this study represents MNC development as a collective endeavor in which individual companies are especially influenced both by each other and by their joint external constituents. These influences materialize in analogous timing and patterns of internationalization across individual companies. In its entirety, the study thus suggests that the development of MNCs which operate in the same line of industry and originate from the same country can be considered an outcome of a mutual process that involves interaction both with each other and their shared external constituents. This also means that MNCs then are not only competitors, but simultaneously also a source of mutual support in their ever-continuing evolution.

Abstract
Through Circuit World's regular attendance at electronics‐related events worldwide, the faces of several of BPA's ‘personalities’ have over the years become very familiar. Featuring on international Conference programmes, and as guest speakers at seminars, symposia and workshops on a number of continents, the various members of the ‘team’ are very much in demand. Conference halls have been seen by the reporter to fill conspicuously for the BPA presentation, with a surreptitious trickle of delegates ‘escaping’ once the lecture is over.

Abstract
Mention Sindelfingen to anyone involved in the electronics industry and they spontaneously refer to IBM, who have a major presence in the Sindelfingen/Böblingen area. To many others, it immediately springs to mind as the ‘home’ of Daimler‐Benz. The district is, however, far from totally industrialised, as coniferous forests clothing the hillside and lining a stretch of the Autobahn offer superb scope for weekend walks in the environs of this small town to the south‐west of Stuttgart.

Abstract
Since its origins during the Second World War, the computer industry has grown more rapidly than any other technology in history, and this growth has spawned a wealth of new terms and manners‐of‐speaking to describe computers and the uses to which they can be put. Such terms are often referred to collectively as computerese. The thesis of Barry's entertaining book is that the use of computerese is increasingly being extended to a wealth of other subjects that are often totally unrelated to computing. Barry refers to this use (or abuse) of language as technobabble: the subject matter and the pleasingly tongue‐in‐cheek style can be judged from the introduction, which starts as follows: ‘This paper‐based, productized bookware module is designed to support the robust implementation of a friendly, context‐driven interface between the developer and the end‐user. Did you understand this sentence? If so, you are fluent in technobabble’.
