Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to establish a law on the durability of thick aluminium wire bonds in low cycle fatigue for different geometries and wire diameters under a purely mechanical load.
Design/methodology/approach
Bond wires with different geometries were tested with various loads and a mechanical test bench, and their endurance was determined. The same load situation was modelled with finite element analysis and then compared against the experimental results.
Findings
A correlation was found between the plastic strain per cycle and the determined lifespan. Therefore, the lifespan can be calculated by mechanical‐plastic simulation for various loop geometries and loading cases.
Practical implications
The loop height strongly influences the durability of the wire bond, whereas other parameters, such as the loop angle, have a weaker influence on the bond heel lifetime.
Originality/value
The mechanical simulation is able to replace the time‐consuming lifetime experiments.

Abstract
Purpose
Environmentally friendly products are finding a place in everyday lives more frequently, like bamboo toothbrushes. However, the authors find no statement from consumer protection centers about their impact on the human well-being or dental health in daily use. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the tribological parameters between tooth, toothpaste and toothbrush laboratory tests with a focus on abrasive wear.
Design/methodology/approach
The real-world system was systematically transferred to a laboratory scale, which was implemented to a Schwing-Reib-Verschleiß tribometer tribometer (Optimol Instruments). For an abstraction of the real-world system, as many components of the original tribosystem as possible were retained. In addition, the abstraction was selected so that the method could be transferred to other tribometers. For the evaluation of the test subjects, an optical measurement method was developed to investigate the forms of wear.
Findings
Based on eight test series, it is possible to differentiate between the tribological partners by the wear results. With the help of the measurement method, it will be possible to recommend the use of sustainable oral hygiene products for everyone in everyday life in future. According to the findings, the use of low-cost toothbrushes and highly abrasive toothpaste should be avoided. The effects of an aggressive brushing technique cannot be compensated by gentle toothbrushes and toothpastes.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first approach to investigate the wear behavior of tooth–toothpaste–toothbrush while substitute the tooth with dental gypsum. The approach is relevant for developing screening tests with high respect to transferability to the real-world application.

Abstract
Purpose
The health sector is increasingly dynamic and complex, in which (strategic) change has become a constant in the sector's adaptation to different challenges. This study aims to meet the need to understand which trends in the literature on strategic change in the health sector and which elements comprise it.
Design/methodology/approach
To advance research in this area, the authors systematically review 285 articles collected from the Scopus database. The authors conducted a bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer software by applying the bibliographic matching method to understand how these articles were grouped and thus characterise the literature trends.
Findings
Through a systematic literature review (SLR), this study analyses the various lenses of literature on strategic change in the context of the health sector, classifying and conceptually mapping existing research into four thematic groups: key factors in strategic change, theories and models underlying strategic change, decentralisation in strategic change and the challenges to strategic change in this millennium.
Research limitations/implications
The trends in the literature on strategic change in the health sector explore strategic change from different perspectives. Key features in strategic change suffered reciprocal influence from the theories/models of strategic change and decentralisation of health care so that the health sector could define strategies to respond to the challenges it faced.
Originality/value
The health sector has been in great prominence worldwide, specifically due to the recent events that have occurred on a planetary scale. Therefore, a systematic review is essential to help understand the strategic changes that have occurred in the health sector and their impact. The authors did not find any SLR that focuses on global strategic changes in the health sector, so this study will fill this gap, systematising the main topics on strategic change in the health sector. The authors also suggest an integrative research framework and a future research agenda.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibility to construct tissue-engineered bone repair scaffolds with pore size distributions using rapid prototyping techniques.
Design/methodology/approach
The fabrication of porous scaffolds with complex porous architectures represents a major challenge in tissue engineering and the design aspects to mimic complex pore shape as well as spatial distribution of pore sizes of natural hard tissue remain unexplored. In this context, this work aims to evaluate the three-dimensional printing process to study its potential for scaffold fabrication as well as some innovative design of homogeneously porous or gradient porous scaffolds is described and such design has wider implication in the field of bone tissue engineering.
Findings
The present work discusses biomedically relevant various design strategies with spatial/radial gradient in pore sizes as well as with different pore sizes and with different pore geometries.
Originality/value
One of the important implications of the proposed novel design scheme would be the development of porous bioactive/biodegradable composites with gradient pore size, porosity, composition and with spatially distributed biochemical stimuli so that stem cells loaded into scaffolds would develop into complex tissues such as those at the bone–cartilage interface.
