Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate high strength concrete (HSC) containing polypropylene fibers (PP-fibers) at high temperature under a compressive load.
Design/methodology/approach
The use of PP fibers in HSC is known to reduce and at times eliminate the risk of spalling. HSC containing 0, 1 and 2 kg/m3 of PP-fibers were subjected to various temperatures from 20°C to 150°C, 300°C and 450°C and evaluated in a “hot condition”. One group of specimens was in a non-stressed condition during heating (unstressed hot), while a second group was subjected to an initial preload of 40 per cent of the room temperature compressive strength during the heating (stressed hot).
Findings
Results showed that stressed concrete containing PP-fibers had lower thermal gradients (the temperature difference between the surface and center temperatures as a function of radial distance) and a decrease in relative porosity. However, the compressive strength of stressed specimens was improved with or without fibers as compared to that of the unstressed HSC. The increased stress levels due to concrete expansion at elevated temperature were also reported. The PP-fibers did not have a significant effect on the compressive strength of stressed concrete as compared to the unstressed state.
Originality/value
This paper reports the compressive strength of PP-fibers in HSC at elevated temperature with and without a pre-load.

Abstract
This study examines the fiscal impact of tax and expenditure limitations (TELs) on state spending by expanding the popular, narrow view of examining TELs and taking into account the scope, purpose, and restrictiveness of individual state TELs. Using an efficient estimator, called fixed effect vector decomposition I employ a set of panel data from all fifty states for the period 1997 - 2006. While a number of studies have been inconclusive about the impact of state TELs on spending, this study finds that having a TEL is not what matters. Rather, the impact of TELs depends on the actual features of the individual TEL. Further, TELs impact different categories of spending in different ways and, under the right conditions, TELs can have the desired impact and effectively reduce state spending.

Green labeling and green scapes are generally associated with environmental practices known as eco-labeling. In the hospitality industry, the concept of green scapes and green labeling has been associated through the attraction of customers toward hospitality organization's brand mark. Green practices make a customer conscious and more tangible for a brand or product. Somewhere, green practices have the instinct to throw as an open-up strategy for futurism growth and to build the brand mark at the next market step of the industry. The determination of green practices of a hospitality organization is performed by the environment working employees (Villemereuil & Gaggiotti, 2015). The organization is advantageous only when the in-house environment is attractive. Green scapes are performed only on the criteria of key certification. The viewpoint of this chapter is to fulfill the criteria of green practices (Warren et al., 2008), attracting brand marks in the hospitality organizations of UT regions. This chapter will investigate the perceptions of industrial employees attracting the brand mark of any hospitality organization in UT states. This chapter will highlight the impact of B2B and B2C businesses connecting to the working environment toward attracting the brand mark of hospitality organizations in the UT states region. This chapter will be paying heed to discuss the enhancing effect of B2B businesses in the UT states market of the tourism and hospitality sector. The sample collected for this chapter using closed ended questionnaire from hospitality organization or hotels in UT destination.

Abstract
From interviews with selected experts and secondary sources, this paper charts the actions that led to Malaysia having its own green building rating tool. It began with the Institution of Architects Malaysia and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia working together in 2008 to come up with the Green Building Index (GBI) specifically suited for the Malaysian condition. The index was launched a year later, the same year that a new prime minister came into office. With greening the economy in mind, he launched a few major initiatives, one of which was the creation of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water to replace the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications and another was the launching of the National Technology Policy. In December 2009, he made the commitment on Malaysia's behalf to reduce carbon dioxide emission at the Copenhagen Summit, thereby cementing his commitment to green issues at the international level. Behind-the-scene lobbying by the private sector resulted in the government explicitly endorsing the GBI by tying GBI certification of buildings to financial incentives. This paper makes the case that the strong cooperation between the private sector and the government over the GBI represents a form of public-private partnership on aspects of collaborative spirit, complementarity of resources, private sector leadership, wide-ranging ramifications over other partnerships across time, timing and sustainability. Other countries intending to come up with their own rating tool can take stock of the Malaysian experience.
