Abstract
WITH the introduction of airborne wireless equipment it became apparent, even with the low frequency and voltage ignition systems which were then used, that the prevention of radio interference caused by the ignition impulses presented a problem of considerable proportions. As engine development was pursued it was observed that the use of higher ignition voltages and frequency resulted in more efficient combustion; today high voltage and frequency ignition systems involving the use of oscillatory circuits are a common feature in piston‐engined aircraft.

Abstract
This paper advances our understanding of the relationship between quality, value and satisfaction in the context of spectator sport services. This is achieved through an analysis and examination of relevant secondary data culminating in a conceptual model. Although extensive research has been conducted in the three separate areas of quality, value and satisfaction, to date no work has been reported attempting to develop macro models that capture the concepts and their potential interrelationships. Such macro models could enhance the communication and stimulate further research for sport marketing scholars. This paper proposes a model apposite for further research and in the process leads to the potential confirmation, rejection or indeed, adaptation of the conceptualization of sport services.

When Rambo Last Blood hit the screens in 2019 to an almost unanimous thumbs down from the critics, it seemed as if Sylvester Stallone's ‘last outing’ as his iconic action hero, John Rambo was to bow out with more of a violent whimper than a spectacular bang. But action heroes never really do know when to quit. There is always one last mission to undertake. In an online interview in September 2019, Stallone indicated that Rambo 6 could well be on the cards. This chapter will discuss not only ideas about ‘Rambo’ as a character and his character arc, but posit the idea that Stallone, through the process of gerontology, has moved through the decades to become not a simplification or distillation of a cinematic action hero, but rather a much more complex one that asks questions about the politics of the era, masculinity, fragility and ageing.

Abstract
Studies on the socio-technical relations between bodies and self-tracking apps have become more relevant as the number of digital solutions for monitoring our bodies are increasing and becoming even more embedded in our everyday lives. While a strong body of literature within the fields of self-tracking and the quantified self has evolved during the recent years, the author suggests it is time we (once again) start paying attention to the specific bodies in question when we look into the quantification of bodies, particularly about the question as to whose bodies are we talking about when we say, ‘quantified bodies’. The author also proposes that, when discussing the quantification of bodies, we take interest in the bodies designing, producing, and guiding the logic behind the algorithms embedded in the technological solutions in question. By suggesting this focus on bodies as knowledge producing, the author draws from a feminist perspective of situated knowledges (Haraway 1988; Harding, 1986, 2004) with a particular interest in knowledge production and the understanding of bodies as active, epistemological objects. Feminist theory of science replaces, so to speak, the idea of a universal human identity with a knowing subject who can occupy many different positions – in co-creative and transforming constellations. Following this line of thought, all kinds of knowledge production must be bodily anchored and situated. However, knowledge production always takes place in relation to or with something/someone else/other. As explained by philosopher Rosi Braidotti ‘[t]he post-human knowing subject has to be understood as a relational embodied and embedded, affective and accountable entity and not only as a transcendental consciousness’ (Braidotti, 2018, p. 1). Thus, the bodies in this chapter are the bodies who menstruate. The author wishes to discuss a particular socio-technical relation between smartphone applications (apps) to track and monitor the female cycle; period-apps, and the menstruating bodies engaging with these apps. Building on early feminist thoughts from the science and technology studies (STS), the author seeks to move beyond the algorithmic quantification of bodies to study the network of knowledge production formed by bodies, materialities, technology and history with all its reminiscence of stigma and taboo surrounding these leaking bodies (Shildrich, 1999). These inquiries are not only theoretical accounts but are also rooted in empirical soil. Based on a feminist ethnography of Danish women’s everyday engagement with period-apps, the female developers from the Femtech-industry and the women-only groups within the quantified self-movement, the author aims to provide a broad perspective on what the author defines as the gendered data body. The author argues for a feminist approach to better understand the socio-technical relations and the socio-cultural discourses the menstruating body is situated in, as well as to better understand the unique relation between knowledge production and technology as being constitutional for the gendered data body.

Schools increasingly acknowledge their role in aiding refugee youth integration and inclusivity. Yet, schools often lack readiness in addressing diverse challenges faced by displacement. Navigating new languages and educational systems presents formidable barriers to educational advancement for many young refugees. Many refugee students arrive with limited, interrupted, or disrupted formal education; literacy challenges compounded by trauma from displacement. Despite recognizing the need for inclusive learning environments, schools struggle to implement effective interventions for students with such diverse backgrounds and education. This paper explores the challenges faced by one school and its students, emphasizing the need for flexibility, support, and understanding from both the school and the broader community to overcome obstacles and reclaim student’s ambitions and childhood dreams. Intensive Language Centers (ILC) and classroom support are pivotal in developing English skills, yet some efforts lack efficacy. Success hinges on a holistic approach, encompassing trauma, familial dynamics, socialization, and cultural integration. Such measures are imperative for refugee students to thrive in Australian schools and pursue higher education. The research highlights the importance of a holistic approach, addressing academic, language, cultural, trauma, and resettlement challenges. Recognizing and accommodating these layers essential for fostering an environment where refugee students can successfully adapt and thrive in higher education.

Abstract
In this paper, the electrical parameters of the duct electrostatic precipitators with bundle wires, as discharge electrodes, are calculated and reported. Variation of mobility for both ions and particles in the space surrounding the energized subwires is taken into consideration. The method used is based on numerically solving the main set of equations, defining the ionized field surrounding the subwires of the bundle wire‐duct electrostatic precipitators (BWDEP) with the presence of dust particles. This method predicts the electrical performance in the BWDEP irrespective of the number of subwires per bundle. The corona onset voltage around the periphery of each subwire of the bundled discharge electrodes of the duct electrostatic precipitators is determined. It changes from point to point at the subwire surface. The effects of different numbers of subwires per bundled electrode, as well as the subwires arrangement, on the electrical performance of the BWDEP are also reported and discussed in this paper. The present findings are correlated to the physics of the electrical corona discharge.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to introduce an efficient model for analysis of the voltage distribution along the long ceramic insulator strings in a high‐voltage tower window, especially when the structure and parameters of the ceramic insulator are unknown. The effect of the grading ring on the voltage distribution is also investigated.
Design/methodology/approach
A circuit model composed of capacitors is used to analyze the voltage distribution along the ceramic insulator strings in a transmission tower window. The capacitances of the disk insulators, line conductors, and tower are obtained by using the finite element method, charge simulation method, boundary element method, and measurement according to their characteristics.
Findings
The model is very efficient. The voltage distribution along insulator strings can be optimized by adjusting the parameters of the grading ring. The maximum amount of voltage applied to a single insulator disk can be reduced effectively by increasing either the diameter of the grading ring or the distance from the upper surface of the grading ring to the high‐voltage end of the insulator string.
Originality/value
The model is very efficient for analysis of the voltage distribution along the long ceramic insulator strings, especially when the structure and parameters of the ceramic insulator are unknown.

Baker remarks that librarians do not expect to be thanked for their services and then, characteristically, proceeds to thank some dozen or so. Whatever our expectations are, we are none the less appreciative when a writer does express his debt; it helps us, it justifies our work. Purpose
Emotional intelligence (EI) is a critical component of leadership that reflects the ability of leaders to understand how their emotions and actions affect the people around them in the organization. This paper aims to deliver state-of-the-art insights on EI and leadership.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper leverages on bibliometric analysis to unpack 25 years of EI and leadership research.
Findings
This paper reveals the bibliometric profile (e.g. trends in publication activity and top articles, authors, countries and journals) and intellectual structure (e.g. themes and topics) of EI and leadership research, shedding light on EI manifestation in leadership, EI and leadership congruence, EI role in leadership and EI and leadership for human resource management.
Research limitations/implications
This paper offers several noteworthy implications. First, EI is a leadership competency that can be cultivated and leveraged to improve leadership effectiveness. Second, the need for EI and leadership congruence indicates that leadership effectiveness is vital to human resource management (HRM). Taken collectively, these theoretical implications, and by extension, practical implications, suggest that increased investment in EI and leadership effectiveness is critical for organizations and their HRM.
Originality/value
This paper sheds light on current trends and ways forward for leading by feeling, showcasing the role and manifestation of EI in leadership, its value for HRM and the importance of its congruence for effective leadership in shaping the future of work.
