Abstract
One of the most significant impacts of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU) would be the complication, and even the stalemate, of the supranational unification process of the EU, which was the founding idea of the Union. In this chapter, the adverse circumstances that will take place in the supranational unification process will be addressed over two significant issues. The first of the issues is the losses that the Union will experience. The Union, which had realized partnership in many areas to achieve the supranational unification and which, at least, has held out hope for other areas, would experience significant losses concerning motivation, time, capacity, and power of influence, and it would be difficult for the Union to reconstitute itself. In addition to these losses, the consolidation of the right-wing populism filled with Eurosceptic and nationalist reactions in the member states following Brexit will further weaken the aspiration for supranational unification. Ultimately, the visibility of the relations in an intergovernmental context, instead of a supranational one, will become the dominant element, and the EU's journey toward long-term founding purpose will receive a major blow.

Abstract
This chapter enquires into the German right-wing populist party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) and its narrative of the nation under attack. For two reasons, the AfD is a particular interesting case. Since its foundation in February 2013 the AfD was constantly extraordinarily successful in state, federal as well as European elections. The support garnered in their first elections is without precedent in German post-war history. What is more, no other populist party ever gained a similar backing in Germany. In contrast to other European countries, political culture in Germany for a long time entailed an anti-populist consensus which significantly curbed the outlook of populist parties. The rise of the AfD maybe indicates the erosion of this consensus. The chapter is based on the systematic analysis of all official party documents 2013/14.

Abstract
This chapter considers the process of entrepreneurial activity to deploy financial technologies (fintech) through mandate-specific new companies in Latin America. We deal with important historical issues such as defining the term, establishing temporal and industrial activity boundaries, positioning this particular process within other organizational forms typical of the region, the role of women, and other relevant issues such as the modernization of retail payments and personal lending. A central question is whether fintech start-ups have had a “scissor” effect in the entrepreneurial process of Latin America: at the base of the pyramid (i.e., reducing frictions to support overall entrepreneurial activity, increasing financial inclusion, etc.) and near the top (by creating new business leaders). As a result, this chapter provides an initial assessment of gender disparities and barriers enabling women entrepreneurs in the fintech ecosystem.

Abstract
Since the first Volume of this Bibliography there has been an explosion of literature in all the main areas of business. The researcher and librarian have to be able to uncover specific articles devoted to certain topics. This Bibliography is designed to help. Volume III, in addition to the annotated list of articles as the two previous volumes, contains further features to help the reader. Each entry within has been indexed according to the Fifth Edition of the SCIMP/SCAMP Thesaurus and thus provides a full subject index to facilitate rapid information retrieval. Each article has its own unique number and this is used in both the subject and author index. The first Volume of the Bibliography covered seven journals published by MCB University Press. This Volume now indexes 25 journals, indicating the greater depth, coverage and expansion of the subject areas concerned.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to present an empirical comparison between the recommendations generated by a citation-based recommender for research articles in a digital library with those produced by a user-based recommender (ExLibris “bX”).
Design/methodology/approach
For these computer experiments 9,453 articles were randomly selected from among 6.6 M articles in a digital library as starting points for generating recommendations. The same seed articles were used to generate recommendations in both recommender systems and the resulting recommendations were compared according to the “semantic distance” between the seed articles and the recommended ones, the coverage of the recommendations and the spread in publication dates between the seed and the resulting recommendations.
Findings
Out of the 9,453 test runs, the recommendation coverage was 30 per cent for the user-based recommender vs 24 per cent for the citation-based one. Only 12 per cent of seed articles produced recommendations with both recommenders and none of the recommended articles were the same. Both recommenders yielded recommendations with about the same semantic distance between the seed article and the recommended articles. The average differences between the publication dates of the recommended articles and the seed articles is dramatically greater for the citation-based recommender (+7.6 years) compared with the forward-looking user-based recommender.
Originality/value
This paper reports on the only known empirical comparison between the Ex Librix “bX” recommendation system and a citation-based collaborative recommendation system. It extends prior preliminary findings with a larger data set and with an analysis of the publication dates of recommendations for each system.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper seeks to examine whether violence embedded in stories in ads can contribute to advertising effectiveness along the same lines as well‐researched ad elements such as the celebrity endorser and the physically attractive ad model. More specifically, the paper aims to assess whether violent content in an ad story adds to excitement perceptions and to overall evaluations such as the attitude toward the ad and the attitude toward the advertised product.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper uses an experimental approach comprising two studies in which participants were randomly allocated to ads with different levels of violence in an ad story.
Findings
The main finding is that representations of real violence (as opposed to staged violence) produced higher levels of excitement, attitude toward the story, attitude toward the ad, and attitude toward the advertised product compared with no violence. Such effects, however, were moderated by the level of congruence between the ad story and the advertised product; the highest response levels were obtained for ads with violent story content dealing explicitly with the advertised product.
Originality/value
The finding that violent stories in ads can have a positive charge is consonant with the assumption that violence is a narrative device that may heighten the excitement created by a story. It is also in accord with the observation that many consumers appear to relish stories with a violent content. Yet the main finding challenges existing research on violent ads in which violence consists of an image visually co‐exposed with a brand – and it questions the dominant approach in media violence research, which emphasizes the negative effects of media violence.

Abstract
Although the field of organization development (OD) has been in a seemingly eternal state of evolution and flux, the highly competitive nature of the contemporary business and consulting environment has reached a point where the future of OD is arguably in serious jeopardy. The field lacks consistency in its core theories, skills, values, ideologies, and interventions. It is time to professionalize and parameterize the field of OD or ultimately accept its relegation to being a faded approach of the past. This chapter focuses on the need for and importance of professionalizing OD, and the subsequent implications and complexities of such an approach for the future of the field. Building on prior research, theory, reviews, and calls for change, a compelling argument is made for why it is finally time to force the next step in the evolution of the field, and what has, can, and should be done about it.
