Abstract
An infinite element based on the doubly asymptotic approximation (DAA) for use in finite element analysis of fluid—structure interactions is presented. Fluid finite elements model the region near the solid. Infinite elements account for the effects of the outer fluid on the inner region. The DAA‐based infinite elements involve an approximate calculation of the added mass using static mapped infinite elements, plus a consistent damping term. Simple test analyses for a range of fluid properties demonstrate the performance of the solution technique. The analyses of a Helmholtz resonator (open pipe) and a circular plate in water indicate the practical use of the solution approach.

Abstract
We compare a recently proposed generalized eigensystem approach and a new modified generalized eigensystem approach to more widely used truncated singular value decomposition and zero‐order Tikhonov regularization for solving multidimensional elliptic inverse problems. As a test case, we use a finite element representation of a homogeneous eccentric spheres model of the inverse problem of electrocardiography. Special attention is paid to numerical issues of accuracy, convergence, and robustness. While the new generalized eigensystem methods are substantially more demanding computationally, they exhibit improved accuracy and convergence compared with widely used methods and offer substantially better robustness.

Abstract
We present a new nonlinear axisymmetric finite element model for heat transfer and powder deposition in rotational molding. Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian techniques are employed to track the gradual growth of the plastic layer. Results using this approach compare well with earlier 1‐D models and with experimental data. Using the model to study the effects of locally enhanced heat transfer on part wall thickness, we find that controlling the relative magnitudes of radial and circumferential heat transfer is crucial in order to obtain desired wall thickness profiles.

Abstract
We compare potential‐based (ø‐U‐P0) and displacement‐based finite element methods for static analysis of contained fluids. A general transient formulation may be specialized to static analysis in both cases. In the potential‐based method velocity potentials (ø) and a single pressure (P0) variable are the unknowns in the fluid region. Displacements are the unknowns in the fluid for displacement‐based methods. Higher‐order displace‐ment‐based elements may produce singular matrices for some static analyses, restricting us to four‐node elements for reliability. While both methods can yield excellent results when compared with experimental data, potential‐based methods appear to have computational advantages over displacement‐based methods.

Abstract
Purpose
This research seeks to examine the influence of sponsorship on spectators' consideration sets by investigating, in a naturalistic setting, whether sport sponsorship adds a prominent brand to spectators' consideration sets, with and without the explicit memory that the brand is a sponsor.
Design/methodology/approach
A field study involved 1,084 visitors to a tennis tournament. For the control group (n=276), the interviews took place before the spectators entered the stadium; interviews with the exposed group (n=808) were conducted after they had attended at least one match. Three hypotheses related to consumer status and consideration set conditions were tested.
Findings
Sponsorship can influence the likelihood that a prominent brand becomes part of the consideration set in a naturalistic setting, even without an explicit memory that the brand is a sponsor. This implicit sponsorship effect was limited to the memory-based consideration set of non-consumers of the brand.
Originality/value
This study establishes an implicit sponsorship effect for prominent brands in naturalistic environments and contributes to a better understanding of moderating (boundary) conditions.

Appearance in this column does not preclude a later review in RSR. Publishers are urged to send a copy of all new reference books directly to RSR as soon as published, for immediate listing in “Reference Books in Print.” Reference books with imprints older than two years will not be included (with the exception of current reprints or older books newly acquired for distribution by another publisher). The column shall also occasionally include library science or other library related publications of other than a reference character.
