Abstract

Purpose

Nowadays, communications, products, services and costs are customized through the internet technology. The main theory to continue competitiveness in the organizations is customer relationship management (CRM). CRM enables organizations to efficiently interact with customers and gather, store and examine their data for providing a complete view of them. On the other hand, the subject of cloud computing has increasingly become the bridge for the success of the CRM implementation. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of cloud computing (new cloud facility, knowledge of information technology (IT), cloud security and cost) on the success of CRM systems.

Design/methodology/approach

The model and the questioners-based data are analyzed using the Smart PLS 3.0. The data were gathered based on 80 employees of three main agricultural companies in Iran.

Findings

The obtained results have indicated that all of the considered factors, new cloud facilities, knowledge of IT, cloud security and cost, play an important role in CRM systems’ success. Also, the evaluation and examination of the consistency and validity of the model are performed through the structural equation model.

Research limitations/implications

First, the authors have conducted a study in a single region. It cannot be guaranteed that the results can be generalized to other regions. Second, for this cross-sectional study, the research design was conducted that showed constant relationships between variables. The research done for this study is cross-sectional. Third, because of time and financial restrictions, the authors have gathered data using a sample from a single location.

Originality/value

Proposing a new model for investigating of the impact of cloud computing (new cloud facility, knowledge of Information Technology (IT), cloud security and cost) on the success of CRM systems is the main originality of this paper.

Abstract

Purpose

This study aimed to examine the impact of ICT and digital knowledge on students’ thoughts and beliefs. Using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in learning and teaching processes can improve the interpretation of knowledge, not only in the learning process but also for thoughts and beliefs. Beliefs and thoughts as propositional content are understood to be a subjective manner of knowing and becoming a focal point of education process. In addition, ICT plays a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of the teaching process which can change the thoughts of learners. So, in this paper, the usage of ICT in education was considered as a key factor for improving students’ thoughts and beliefs. In addition, a conceptual model was proposed to evaluate this impact.

Design/methodology/approach

Data were collected from 384 students from secondary schools in Iran. For assessing the elements of the model, a complete questionnaire was designed. For statistical analysis of questionnaires, SPSS 22 and SMART-PLS 3.2 software package was used.

Findings

The obtained results showed the high strength of the proposed model. The outcomes indicated that digital technology acceptance positively affects students’ thoughts and beliefs. In addition, the findings showed that the role of digital knowledge, digital training facilities and digital education content on students’ thoughts and beliefs was significant.

Research limitations/implications

The authors deal with one experiment and so the results cannot be generalized. The trail should be repeated with many groups and in diverse contexts.

Originality/value

Despite the importance of the investigating the impact of ICT and digital knowledge on the students’ thoughts and beliefs, the relationship among these factors was not examined well in previous research. Thus, the investigation of the impact of ICT and digital knowledge on the students’ thoughts and beliefs is the main originality of this research. For this goal, a new conceptual model is proposed, which has 11 sub-indicators within four variables: digital technology acceptance, digital knowledge, digital training facilities and digital education content.

Abstract

Purpose

Although there are some studies about knowledge management at national level, no integrated attempts have been reported in the direction of introducing knowledge management pattern at national level based on real experiences. Numerous researches have been conducted in the domain of knowledge management at micro level. But at macro/national level, some concepts and components have been investigated briefly. The purpose of this paper is to deal with this gap.

Design/methodology/approach

This research uses the hybrid method. The technique of qualitative case study of grounded theory method has been selected in this research for gathering and analyzing data. Data have been categorized and analyzed from case studies (at countries level) using the steps of this method. The degree of correlation and causality and the importance of each concept existing in the pattern have been computed by applying decision-making trial and evaluation (dematel) technique. The obtained concepts and pattern could be applied as a guide for accepting and implementing knowledge management at national level.

Findings

Total positive findings have been obtained from case studies, and the authors attained 14 concepts and one pattern. These findings provide the steps of designing and are useful in implementing projects and programs of knowledge management at national level. The degree of correlation between the components of the pattern is the other finding of this study.

Practical implications

The obtained concepts and patterns can be used as a guide in countries and governments which decide to implement knowledge management at national level. These can be a basis for countries which are in the process of implementing the projects of knowledge management at national level.

Originality/value

This research is the first study that aims to provide the pattern of knowledge management at national level and can provide useful information for countries and governments and can be used as a reference to guide them for the implementation. So these countries will be able to design and implement their programs of knowledge management purposefully.
