Abstract
Describes the launch by the Hays Distribution Service of a programme aimed at becoming an empowered organization. The company′s objectives were redefined, the role of each team was clarified and the structure was reviewed. The five current areas of development are: customer interface; changing managers′ roles; improving communication; improving information flows; and training. Concludes with two case examples of how this programme has worked out in practice.
