Abstract
Reviews the Welcome Trust move, with which the co‐author was involved, which entailed bringing together 240 staff from four locations around the Euston, London, area into one building of 200,000 sq. ft of mainly cellular office space. The planning for the move began in 1985 and the physical relocation took place in October 1992. “It was a very complicated move,” said Mr Ingrey‐Counter, “because we had to bring together such diverse features as the medical library and our many works of art, in addition to the staff who had been working in four different locations. It involved not only physical integration but also cultural.” To assist in the logistics of the move Welcome engaged relocation specialists Relocation Information Services who were brought on board in July 1992.
