Examines the external development, bottlenecks and development tendencies in robotic assembly. Looks at current market trends and the way in which technological developments can play a role by enabling companies to optimize price, quality and delivery times through rationalization and automation of parts manufacturing and assembly. Discusses the importance of synchronisation between the assembly system and the parts manufacturing. Outlines the main areas where bottlenecks can occur in the application of robotic assembly systems: covering the high complexity of the product and process design, the limited accuracy of the product parts and problems with the peripheral equipment. Ends by summarising areas of development in the robot and in the peripheral equipment.

Abstract
Examines the conceptual design of robotic assembly systems in conjunction with the analysis and optimization of the product and process design. Explains how an integral assembly model is utilised to study the relationships between assembly variables which play a role in each stage of the design process. Outlines the characteristics and benefits of the concentric design process and explains the total productivity concept. Concludes that the integral assembly model, which underlies the concentric design process, provides the opportunity to store product, process and system data and can therefore be considered as a reference model for product development and process planning as well as for the design and analysis of assembly systems.

The assembly is often a weak link in the production process. It is an enterprise activity which is responsible for a substantial part of the production costs and the throughput time. Robot assembly systems in addition offer legitimate possibilities to rationalize the assembly activities, because of the increasing product diversity, and the more severe demands concerning the reliability of delivery. Unfortunately several bottlenecks hinder the widespread application of robot assembly systems. Figure 1 gives an overview of the bottlenecks and the development tendencies in robotic assembly.

Purpose
A new blueprint for creating a learning organization is needed in which personal and organizational performance and learning mutually reinforce each other on a sustainable basis. Traditional business management concepts are insufficiently committed to learning and rarely take the specific personal ambitions of employees into account. In consequence there are many superficial improvements, marked by temporary and cosmetic changes, which are coupled with failing projects that lack sufficient buy‐in by personnel and, in some cases, even have an adverse effect. Sets out to examine this situation.
Design/methodology/approach
Building insight from experience.
Findings
This paper introduces a new business management concept, called total performance scorecard (TPS). It stresses the importance of and need for developing an organizational structure and philosophy that combine the goals and aspirations of the individual with those of the company. It is a melding process, which results in a corporate culture that is both individually and organizationally driven.
Practical implications
The concepts embodied in this management concept provide solutions to preserving and utilizing individual rights and capabilities while adjusting the organizational structure and philosophy to this new environment. This has been done by expanding and integrating concepts such as the balanced scorecard, total quality management, performance management and competence management into one overall framework.
Originality/value
The resulting framework, TPS, creates a framework and philosophy that combine the goals and aspirations of the individual with those of the organisation. It is a melding process, which results in a corporate culture that is both individually and organizationally driven.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of the study is to understand how socially shared misinformation and rumors can enhance the motivation to protect personal interests and enhance social practices of panic buying.
Design/methodology/approach
The study employed a number of qualitative data collection methods for the purpose of triangulation, as it can offer thick interpretation and can help to develop a context specific research framework.
Findings
The shared misinformation and rumors on social media developed into psychological, physical and social threats; therefore, people started panic buying to avoid these negative consequences. People believed that there were differences between the information shared by politicians and government officials and reality, such as “everything is under control,” whereas social media showed people standing in long queues and struggling to buy the necessities of life. The shared misinformation and rumors on social media became viral and received social validation, which created panic buying in many countries.
Research limitations/implications
It is the responsibility of government, politicians, leaders, media and the public to control misinformation and rumors, as many people were unable to buy groceries due either to socio-economic status or their decisions of late buying, which increased depression among people.
Originality/value
The study merged the theory of rumor (TORT) transmission and protection motivation theory (PMT) to understand how misinformation and rumors shared through social media increased global uncertainty and the desire to panic buy across the world.
