Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the relationship between non-market strategies and organizational resilience, using a Chinese private enterprise as an example.
Design/methodology/approach
This study collected data through semi-structured interviews and analyzed them through grounded theory, using a three-step approach of open coding, axial coding and selective coding to analyze and construct a model of the mechanism of the impact of non-market strategies on organizational resilience.
Findings
The following conclusions were drawn from this study. (1) Stakeholders, internal and external environment and entrepreneurship are important motivations that influence private firms to implement non-market strategies to enhance organizational resilience, with entrepreneurship being the key driver. (2) Non-market strategies contain three dimensions, and different non-market behaviors have different mechanisms of action on the organizational resilience of firms. (3) Non-market strategies and organizational resilience form an interactive spiral relationship. This mutually reinforcing effect promotes firm growth and sustainable corporate development. The research results enrich the theoretical connotation of non-market strategies, construct a model of the mechanism of influence of non-market strategies on organizational resilience, and describe three explanatory paths for the relationship between the two–incentive mechanism, functional mechanism and transformation mechanism.
Research limitations/implications
This study's single case is unique and based on the Chinese context. In addition, this study adopts a rooted qualitative research approach and although the coding and model construction strictly follow the steps of grounded theory research, a degree of subjectivity is inevitable. On this basis, future research can adopt quantitative analysis methods to test and improve the model.
Practical implications
This paper explores the important role of non-market strategies in the Chinese context under the impact of traditional market mechanisms, based on the perspective of Chinese private enterprises, and provides new insights and revelations for private enterprises to achieve sustainable development.
Originality/value
This study innovatively explores the formation mechanism of organizational resilience from the perspective of non-market strategies, adding a new perspective to the literature. Additionally, it examines the mechanisms between long-term non-market strategy and organizational resilience, particularly their relationship in times of crisis, utilizing a rooted approach that goes beyond static analysis.

Abstract
Purpose
Humanoid robots should have the ability of walking in complex environment and overcoming large obstacles in rescue mission. Previous research mainly discusses the problem of humanoid robots stepping over or on/off one obstacle statically or dynamically. As an extreme case, this paper aims to demonstrate how the robots can step over two large obstacles continuously.
Design/methodology/approach
The robot model uses linear inverted pendulum (LIP) model. The motion planning procedure includes feasibility analysis with constraints, footprints planning, legs trajectory planning with collision-free constraint, foot trajectory adapter and upper body motion planning.
Findings
The motion planning with the motion constraints is a key problem, which can be considered as global optimization issue with collision-free constraint, kinematic limits and balance constraint. With the given obstacles, the robot first needs to determine whether it can achieve stepping over, if feasible, and then the robot gets the motion trajectory for the legs, waist and upper body using consecutive obstacles stepping over planning algorithm which is presented in this paper.
Originality/value
The consecutive stepping over problem is proposed in this paper. First, the paper defines two consecutive stepping over conditions, sparse stepping over (SSO) and tight stepping over (TSO). Then, a novel feasibility analysis method with condition (SSO/TSO) decision criterion is proposed for consecutive obstacles stepping over. The feasibility analysis method’s output is walking parameters with obstacles’ information. Furthermore, a modified legs trajectory planning method with center of mass trajectory compensation using upper body motion is proposed. Finally, simulations and experiments for SSO and TSO are carried out by using the XT-I humanoid robot platform with the aim to verify the validity and feasibility of the novel methods proposed in this paper.

Abstract
Purpose
Inspired by the development of eco-friendly flexible electronics, this paper aims to present a series of paper-based electronics drawn by pencils, which can be used as favorable sensing elements in daily life.
Design/methodology/approach
Pencil traces are deposited on the porous surface of Xerox paper by the mechanical exfoliation during writing process, which can be used as basic components to construct functional electronics for daily sensing applications. By changing pencil grade, the obtained traces can work as conductive wires, electrodes, resistors and piezoresistive gauges.
Findings
The experimental results confirm their practical applications in sensing several daily activities, including finger motion, touching and the temperature of water in paper cup. Moreover, the used electronics can be easily handled and recycled.
Research limitations/implications
The shortage in functionality, reliability and performance consistency induced by manual operation is an evident challenge, which makes the pencil-on-paper devices more suitable to work as a temporary solution to satisfying the demands from emergency circumstances.
Originality/value
The pencil-on-paper devices, motivated by the electroconductibility and piezoresistivity of pencil trace, can be explored as sensing prototypes in detecting daily activities. Meantime, their advances in easy accessibility, rapid fabrication, low cost and eco-fitness endow them excellent capacity of meeting the “on-site, real-time” demands.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the mechanism of Ni particles distribution in the liquid Sn3.5Ag melt under the external static magnetic field. The control steps of Ni particles and the Sn3.5Ag melt metallurgical process were studied. After aging, the microhardness of pure Sn3.5Ag, Sn3.5Ag containing randomly distributed Ni particles and Sn3.5Ag containing columnar Ni particles were compared.
Design/methodology/approach
Place the sample in a crucible for heating. After the sample melts, place a magnet directly above and below the sample to provide a magnetic field. Sn3.5Ag with the different morphological distribution of Ni particles was obtained by holding for different times under different magnetic field intensities. Finally, pure Sn3.5Ag, Sn3.5Ag with random distributed Ni particles and Sn3.5Ag with columnar Ni particles were aged and their microhardness was tested after aging.
Findings
The experimental results show that with the increase of magnetic field strength, the time for Ni particle distribution in Sn3.5Ag melt to reach equilibrium is shortened. After aging, the microhardness of Sn3.5Ag containing columnar nickel particles is higher than that of pure Sn3.5Ag and Sn3.5Ag containing randomly distributed nickel particles. A chemical reaction is the control step in the metallurgical process of nickel particles and molten Sn3.5Ag.
Originality/value
Under the action of the magnetic field, Ni particles in Sn3.5Ag melt will be arranged into columns. With the increase of magnetic field strength, the shorter the time for Ni particles in Sn3.5Ag melt to arrange in a column. With the extension of the service time of the solder joint, if Sn3.5Ag with columnar nickel particles is used as the solder joint material, its microhardness is better than Sn3.5Ag with arbitrarily distributed nickel particles and pure Sn3.5Ag.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper was to present a soft landing control strategy for a biped robot to avoid and absorb the impulsive reaction forces (which weakens walking stability) caused by the landing impact between the swing foot and the ground.
Design/methodology/approach
First, a suitable trajectory of the swing foot is preplanned to avoid the impulsive reaction forces in the walking direction. Second, the impulsive reaction forces of the landing impact are suppressed by the on-line trajectory modification based on the extended time-domain passivity control with admittance causality that has the reaction forces as inputs and the decomposed swing foot’s positions to trim off the forces as the outputs.
Findings
The experiment data and results are described and analyzed, showing that the proposed soft landing control strategy can suppress the impulsive forces and improve walking stability.
Originality/value
The main contribution is that a soft landing control strategy for a biped robot was proposed to deal with the impulsive reaction forces generated by the landing impact, which enhances walking stability.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism of shared leadership on team members’ innovative behavior.
Design/methodology/approach
Paired questionnaires were collected from 89 scientific research teams in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region of China at two-time points with a time lag of 4 months. Then multilevel structural equation model method was applied to analyze the multiple mediating effects.
Findings
This study finds that: the form of shared leadership in scientific research teams of universities; shared leadership has a positive impact on team members’ innovative behavior; there are multiple mediations in the relationship including synchronization and sequence of creative self-efficacy and achievement motivation.
Originality/value
According to the “stimulus-organism-response” model, this paper has constructed a multi-level theoretical model that shared leadership influences individual innovation behavior and reveals the “black box” from the perspective of psychological mechanism. It not only verifies that “can-do” shapes “willing to do” but also makes up for the gap of an empirical test of the effectiveness of shared leadership in scientific research teams of universities. Besides, the formal scale of shared leadership in the Chinese situation is revised, which can provide a reference for future empirical research on shared leadership. The research conclusions provide new ideas for improving the management of scientific research teams in universities.

Abstract
Purpose
We investigate how green transformational leadership (GTL) influences green innovative service behavior (GISB), particularly in the hospitality sector, which faces significant environmental challenges. Drawing from social identity theory (SIT), we introduce green organizational identity (GOI) as a mediating mechanism through which GTL fosters GISB. Furthermore, we propose a moderated mediation model whereby a green knowledge-sharing climate (GKSC) serves as a first-stage moderator to further understand how and when GTL fosters GISB through GOI.
Design/methodology/approach
We employed a multi-study design (i.e. two independent studies across China) to test the hypothesized relationships. Study 1 involved full-time employees from the service industry in China, including healthcare, telecommunication, and insurance sectors (N = 313). Study 2 employed a time-lagged dyadic design, collecting responses from employees and their managers at three different time points in the hospitality sector (N = 419).
Findings
In Study 1, the simple mediation results demonstrate that GTL positively influences GISB through the mediating role of GOI. Moreover, in Study 2, the moderating effect of GKSC was supported, showing that in organizations with strong green knowledge-sharing climate, the indirect effect of GTL on GISB via GOI is amplified.
Originality/value
In our work, we address a critical gap in the literature by identifying both the mechanisms and contextual factors that explain how GTL influences GISB. By introducing GOI as a mediator and GKSC as a first-stage moderator, the study advances understanding of how leadership, organizational identity, and a green-supportive climate interact to promote eco-friendly innovation in service organizations. This contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of effective strategies for advancing green initiatives in the service sector.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new method for the design of a pressure sensor in the hyperbaric environment.
Design/methodology/approach
The new method focuses on two vital parameters that are closely related to the output and sensitivity of the sensor. The rectangular diaphragm structure is adopted, and the piezoresistors are planted on the surface accordingly. To verify the effect of the method, a contrastive sensor chip is fabricated in a conventional way, and two types of sensor chips are tested at the same time.
Findings
The new method for the design of a pressure sensor is advisable and favorable. The sensor fabricated by the method possesses outstanding high sensitivity and a wide measurement range.
Originality/value
This paper provides a new idea for increasing the measurement range of the pressure sensor with an acceptable sacrifice of sensitivity.
