Abstract
This study aims to critically review and analyse the classification of supply chain risks and disruptions and thereby suggest a suitable method for classifying maritime risks. It aims to discuss the propagation effects of port disruption on the supply chain and mitigation strategies.
In addition to secondary research, six semi-structured interviews were conducted with the management personnel of two terminal operators, two shipping lines and two insurance companies.
When a port disruption happens, the most immediate impact is the adverse effects on terminal operations. It also leads to a domino effect on other parties in the supply chain including shippers and consignees, shipping companies, inter-modal transport providers and other ports. Proper risk management needs to be embraced by the supply chain members. However, there is very little or no such collaboration between the supply chain members in practice.
This article proposes a more integrative approach in assessing various kinds of risks, and more research in this area to be done for Asia.
Risk management has been the concern for many stakeholders ranging from industry practitioners to the people who are affected by the maritime business throughout the world. The maritime industry should look into risk management in the maritime logistics and supply chain context instead of dealing with risk in isolation.
There is a serious lack of research for analysing supply chain disruptions with ports as a focal point. The paper contributes by filling the research gap.

Abstract
Purpose
International Journal of Logistics Management (IJLM) celebrated 30 years of its publication in 2019. This study provides a retrospective overview of the IJLM articles between 1990 and 2019.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors applied bibliometrics to study and present a retrospective summary of the publication trends, citations, pattern of authorship, productivity, popularity depicting influence, and the impact of the IJLM, its contributors, their affiliations, and discusses the conceptual layout of IJLM's prolific themes.
Findings
With 23 yearly articles, IJLM contributed 689 specialized research papers on Supply Chain Management (SCM) by 2019. Authorship grew by 42 new contributors adding up to 1,256 unique IJLM authors by 2019. Each of its lead contributors associated with 1.55 other authors to contribute an article in the journal among which 93% are cited at least once. Survey-based research dominated in last 30 years. The h-index of the journal is 73 while its g-index suggests that 133 IJLM articles were cited at least 17,689 times in Scopus. IJLM authors affiliated to the Cranfield University and the US contributed the highest count of articles. Bibliographic coupling analysis groups IJLM articles into eight bibliographic clusters while network analysis exposes the thematic layout of IJLM articles.
Research limitations/implications
The literature selection is confined to the Scopus database starting from 1990, a year before the inception of the IJLM, thereby limiting its scope.
Originality/value
This study is the first retrospective bibliometric analysis of the IJLM, which is useful for aspiring contributors.

Briefly outlines the development and attraction of the “joint venture” approach to foreign investment in China. Provides a number of in‐depth interviews with top management personnel of five well‐known international joint ventures. Attempts to discover what strategic management knowledge was transferred from the Western partner. Finds only limited evidence to suggest such a transfer was taking place but suggests that these ventures are still relatively new. Points to China’s likely entry into the World Trade Organisation as an opportunity for change.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to review and structure the literature on the integration between marketing and supply chain management (SCM) and to contribute to the body of knowledge by developing a framework for integrating marketing and supply chain strategies.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper draws its insights and conclusions from a review of the literature in both fields, marketing and SCM, followed by an interaction research approach which helped to refine and validate the theory‐derived framework from the perspective of practitioners.
Findings
In the existing body of literature on marketing and SCM integration, three perspectives can be differentiated: the interfunctional perspective, the process perspective and the perspective of integrated business concepts. The proposed framework builds on these perspectives and moves them onto a strategic level. Integrating marketing and supply chain strategies involves the management of four integration levels: corporate integration; strategic customer integration; strategic supplier integration and marketing and supply pipeline strategy integration.
Practical implications
The proposed framework points managers at the managerial issues of marketing and supply chain strategy integration and illustrates the need for an interaction approach which challenges the traditional view of marketing in the demand creation and SCM in the demand fulfilment role.
Originality/value
Marketing and SCM integration is a topic which has received considerable interest in both fields for the last 30 years. Despite the notion that a close integration can contribute to the company and even supply chain success, no contribution to date addresses the integration from a strategy perspective. This paper leverages existing knowledge and advances our understanding of the strategic integration issues companies are facing in today's supply chain network‐based competition.

Purpose
Framed by the intersectionality perspective and results from prior research, we examined the effects of race/ethnicity, gender, probation violations, and type of violation on juvenile justice case outcomes in a Mid-Atlantic state.
Methodology/approach
Bivariate and multivariate analyses in the form of logistic regression were used to assess the extent race and ethnicity, gender, probation violations, and the type of violation, individually and in combination, impact case outcomes.
Findings
The findings indicate that the race/ethnicity of the youth, his or her gender, and whether involved in a probation violation and to some degree the type of violation, individually and in some cases, jointly, effect juvenile justice decision making. These relationships often involve receiving both harsh and lenient outcomes. We interpret the results as evidence that stereotyping plays out differently when race/ethnicity and gender intersect.
Originality/value
The study contributes to the general literature by (1) examining the neglected combination effects of race/ethnicity and gender with increased social control within juvenile justice proceedings; (2) including Hispanic youth; and (3) looking at the interrelationships among race/ethnicity and gender with the treatment of probation violators.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is that the effects of surface mount technology (SMT) assembly process on the product lifetime of fine-pitch printed circuit boards (PCBs) were investigated under biased highly accelerated stress testing (HAST).
Design/methodology/approach
SMT assembly from a semiconductor SMT assembly process was replicated to test PCBs under the same conditions as SMT-assembled PCBs. The median lives µ and standard deviation s of the test PCBs were calculated from the log-normal distribution. The failure analysis of current leakages was conducted by the focused ion beam, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Using the inverse power law and modified Peck-H’s relationship, the PCB lives at accelerated (by SMT assembly stress) and user conditions were calculated.
Findings
The failure analysis demonstrated that SiO2 and BaSO4 fillers added for stiffening organic materials promote current leakage failure. Therefore, the hydrophobicity of these fillers is believed to be necessary to suppress the current leakage failure under biased HAST. The inverse power law model indicates that the acceleration life model with SMT assembly stress can be given as follows: L(V) = 271.9(S)−0.5031. From modified Peck-H’s relationship, after the third SMT assembly, the time required to attain 0.96 per cent failures at 35°C/60 per cent RH/1.9 V and 130°C/85 per cent RH/3.5 V are 129 y and 69.5 h, respectively. The biased HAST at 130°C/85 per cent/3.5 V after the third SMT assembly for 69.5 h on 238 samples could be recommended as an early quality-monitoring procedure.
Research limitations/implications
In the future, the failure modes in an early stage of a bathtub should be analyzed and the life prediction model should be studied accordingly.
Originality/value
Through this study, the lifetime prediction model and early quality-monitoring procedure for organic substrates because of SMT assembly stress were obtained.

Abstract
Within accounts of and frameworks for organisational leadership, especially in the public sector, there is continuing enthusiasm for the distinction between transformational and transactional models, where the latter is typically compared unfavourably with the former. This paper reports on a review of the literature on organisation transition (that is mergers and acquisitions), which found this distinction helpful in ordering the material considered. Unexpectedly, the review found that more of the advice contained within the papers examined focused on interventions that could be broadly categorised as transactional rather than transformational. This seems an important finding in a context where the distinction continues to have salience and when transformational characteristics are often seen as being essential to leadership and transactional attributes are perceived as merely being suggestive of management.
