Abstract
Proposes how a global Hypermedia system could evolve from the “Hyper‐G” system, currently being developed at Graz University. Overviews the development of Internet from post‐war visionary speculation to present. Explains some limitations of the current architecture (World Wide Web, Gopher, WAIS). Presents in detail the architecture of a massively distributed hypermedia system. Explains how the proposed system would be much faster, overcoming such problems as documents being oriented by location rather than by subject. Suggests possible applications.

Abstract
This paper reports on an Internet‐based system for hypermedia information discovery and retrieval and wide‐area distributed asynchronous collaboration designed and built at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). The system, called NCSA Mosaic, integrates cleanly into existing Internet protocols, formats, data sources, and environments, and provides powerful new capabilities for using and sharing information across the Internet.

Abstract
Brewery chief, Sir Gerald ‘Joe’ Thorley, is un‐ashamedly ambitious. ‘Never be satisfied with what you have achieved, and always aim for something more,’ he tells Ken Gooding. It's a dictum which has taken him from a £250 junior executive's salary back in the thirties to his present position as £34,000 ‐a‐year head of Allied Breweries—one of the top 20 companies in the UK, with Double Diamond among its best known brands. But promotion opportunities are much more difficult in today's giant corporations, says ‘the boss’.

Abstract
The following classified, annotated list of titles is intended to provide reference librarians with a current checklist of new reference books, and is designed to supplement the RSR review column, “Recent Reference Books,” by Frances Neel Cheney. “Reference Books in Print” includes all additional books received prior to the inclusion deadline established for this issue. Appearance in this column does not preclude a later review in RSR. Publishers are urged to send a copy of all new reference books directly to RSR as soon as published, for immediate listing in “Reference Books in Print.” Reference books with imprints older than two years will not be included (with the exception of current reprints or older books newly acquired for distribution by another publisher). The column shall also occasionally include library science or other library related publications of other than a reference character.

Abstract
Some view whistleblowing — informing on illegal or unethical practices in the workplace — as being undesirable. However, if whistleblowing is incorporated as a natural part of the internal corporate communications system it can be transformed into an extremely valuable aid. Provides examples of damaging publicity attracted by companies which fail to realize this, of the equally damaging consequences to the whistleblowers, and of codes of procedure which minimize the harm and maximize the good to both parties.
