Abstract

Purpose

The study aims to analyze the relationship between teachers’ information and communication technology (ICT) efficacy and the ICT environment in teaching-learning. For this, the current research attempts to explore and understand the role of ICT factors in higher education and develop a framework for future researchers to gain a substantial understanding of the teachers' ICT efficacy and ICT environment.

Design/methodology/approach

Teachers’ ICT efficacy has been analyzed in three domains, i.e. technological, content and pedagogical. The ICT environment is measured on training aspects, ICT tools and administrative support. The researcher adopted purposive sampling as a part of the non-probability sampling technique. The questionnaire was circulated among the experts through e-mail to collect the required response sheets. The experts are working in different academic institutes in India, primarily from premier institutes of the country. It covers all the regions of the country, and 22 experts are taken in the research study for collecting the data. The study uses the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method to explore the link among identified factors and criteria through the expert’s opinion method to achieve the set objectives within the Indian context.

Abstract

Purpose

With the evolving landscape of technology and innovations, metaverse has revealed a huge potential for changing the world. Gradually, it has expanded its wings to different sectors, including higher education. The key purpose of this research work is to synthesize the existing literature on metaverse in higher education and develop future research directions for researchers.

Design/methodology/approach

The present study uses the “Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA)” technique to recognize relevant articles from the database, i.e. SCOPUS. Furthermore, it conducts a “bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review” to explore the research area of metaverse in higher education.

Findings

The findings reveal that the synthesis and analysis of existing literature led to the identification of an intellectual structure, which resulted in the formation of four clusters. These clusters are defined as attributes related to metaverse applications in higher education, sustainable management of complex learning practices, customization of the teaching–learning process through the metaverse and model development. The theoretical structure informs the co-word analysis and thematic map, identifying four themes: the basic theme, motor theme, niche theme and decline theme. Finally, the social structure is assessed in terms of the author’s network and collaboration across countries.

Research limitations/implications

The study investigated the conceptual structure by developing a thematic map and social structure by measuring the relationship between country–author collaboration through bibliographic coupling (BC). The study also identified future research avenues based on the “TCCM (theory, context, characteristics, and methodology)” framework for future researchers and practitioners.

Originality/value

The research study thrives on enlarging the review scope to measure the metaverse’s role in higher education. Though bibliometric studies have been developed in the metaverse, no study has attempted to measure the relationship between metaverse in higher education using bibliometric and TCCM framework. Thus, developing a synthesized work provides a comprehensive picture of the research domain.

Abstract

In recent decades, organizations globally have faced challenges in adopting disruptive innovation. This chapter explores the relationship between change management and adopting disruptive innovations. Through a systematic analysis of existing literature, common themes and trends in this field are identified. The present study employs a bibliometric and content analysis of 77 publications to analyze the role of change management in the adoption of disruptive innovation. Additionally, a framework is presented to facilitate the understanding of how change management influences the adoption of disruptive innovations within organizations. The research highlights that embracing disruptive innovation is not straightforward; it demands a well-thought-out change management approach. This approach should emphasize cultivating an environment that encourages and nurtures innovation. Creating a culture that empowers employees to take risks and explore new ideas is crucial. Additionally, organizational culture, leadership, communication, and employee engagement emerge as critical factors for the successful adoption of disruptive innovations in the workplace. In summary, it is important to recognize that the successful adoption of disruptive innovations within organizations relies on the successful implementation of change management initiatives.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to propose radiating system by avoiding electromagnetic interference in unwanted directions and to radiate the energy in the required direction with an optimization technique.

Design/methodology/approach

Practically, multiple, incompatible variables require concurrent boost on a synthesis of systematic antenna assemblage. The authors have worked out the main statistic penalty function to ensure all the restrictions. Here, MBPSO (Modified Binary Particle Swarm Optimization) is developed and introduced thin planar synthesis restriction. The sigmoid function is used to update the particle position. Different analytical demonstrations have been carried out, and the exhibited methods are predominant than the algorithms.

Findings

A 20 × 10 planar antenna array is synthesized using modified BPSO. The authors have suppressed the PSLL in two principal planes and as well as in the entire f plane. Numerical results state that MBPSO outperforms the other binary BPSO, BCSO, ACO, RGA, GA optimization techniques. MBPSO achieved a −51.84 dB PSLL level, whereas BPSO achieved −48.57 dB with the same 50% thinning.

Originality/value

Planar array antenna formation is one of the most complex syntheses because the array gets filled with more antenna elements. The machine-like complication and implementation of such an antenna arrangement with a broad opening would be expensive. It is not easy to control the required radiation patterns shape by using a uniform feeding network. To get better flexibility for sustaining the sidelobe levelheaded along with consistent amplitude distribution. So as far as prominence has been given to the evolutionary algorithm, find an ideal solution for objective array combinational problems.
