Abstract

Purpose

The main intention of this paper is to state the benefits of using online videogames as a research environment, where AI algorithms are improved by means of learning from real‐human‐behaviour examples.

Design/methodology/approach

The manner of taking advantage from the flux of real‐human‐behaviour examples inside an online videogame is stated. Then Mad University, a prototype online videogame specifically conceived and developed for this purpose, is explained.

Findings

Human‐like AI in artificial algorithms can be boosted by means of a specific kind of online videogame called MMORPGs, used as a research environment.

Research limitations/implications

Mad University is a prototype videogame which has been developed to experiment with AI algorithms that aim to learn strategies in a generalized fashion. The next research step will be to improve Mad University and to put it to work with hundreds of players and then research and test the effectiveness of the AI algorithms.

Originality/value

This paper proposes a new way of testing and experimenting with AI algorithms in order to obtain more human‐like results, and claims to have attempted to develop a generalized learning method.

Design/methodology/approach

Two new covering properties in intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces are defined and studied.

Findings

Relations on these new properties and covering properties on fuzzy topology in the Chang's sense are obtained.

Research/limitations/implications

Clearly, this paper is devoted to intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces.

Practical implications

The main applications are in the mathematical field.

Originality/value

The paper shows original results on fuzzy topology.

Abstract

Purpose

In 2005, Smarandache generalized the Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) to neutrosophic sets (NS), and other researchers introduced the notion of interval neutrosophic set (INSs), which is an instance of NS, and studied various properties. The notion of neutrosophic topology on the non‐standard interval is also due to Smarandache. The purpose of this paper is to study relations between INSs and topology.

Design/methodology/approach

The paper investigates the possible relations between INSs and topology.

Findings

Relations on INSs and neutrosophic topology.

Research limitations/implications

Clearly, the paper is confined to IFSs and NSs.

Practical implications

The main applications are in the mathematical field.

Originality/value

The paper shows original results on fuzzy sets and topology.

Abstract

Purpose

Recently, F. Smarandache generalized the Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy sets and other kinds of sets to neutrosophic sets (NSs). Also, this author introduced a general definition of neutrosophic topology. On the other hand, there exist various kinds of paraconsistent logics, where some contradiction is admissible. The purpose of this paper is to show that a Smarandache's definition of neutrosophic paraconsistent topology is not a generalization of Çoker's intuitionistic fuzzy topology (IFT) or Smarandache's general neutrosophic topology.

Design/methodology/approach

The possible relations between the IFT and the neutrosophic paraconsistent topology are studied.

Findings

Relations on IFT and neutrosophic paraconsistent topology are shown.

Research limitations/implications

Clearly, the paper is confined to IFSs and NSs.

Practical implications

The main applications are in the mathematical field.

Originality/value

The paper shows original results on fuzzy sets and topology.

Abstract

Purpose

In 2000, Wang and He published an important result on the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). Indeed, they showed that every IFS may be regarded as an L‐fuzzy set for some appropriate lattice L. This paper aims to show that, nevertheless, the results obtained by various authors on intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces (IFTSs), are not redundant with others for the ordinary fuzzy sense.

Design/methodology/approach

The most important definitions and results on intuitionistic fuzzy topology (IFT) one compared with the result obtained by Wang and He.

Findings

That these results are not redundant.

Research limitations/implications

Clearly, this paper is devoted to IFTSs.

Practical implications

The main applications are in the mathematical field.

Originality/value

The originality and value of IFT are here demonstrated.

Abstract

Purpose

Recently, Smarandache generalized the Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) and other kinds of sets to neutrosophic sets (NSs). Also, this author defined the notion of neutrosophic topology on the non‐standard interval. One can expect some relation between the intuitionistic fuzzy topology (IFT) on an IFS and the neutrosophic topology. This paper aims to show that this is false.

Design/methodology/approach

The possible relation between the IFT and the neutrosophic topology is studied.

Findings

Relations on neutrosophic topology and IFT are found.

Research limitations/implications

Clearly, this paper is confined to IFSs and NSs.

Practical implications

The main applications are in the mathematical field.

The paper shows original results on fuzzy sets and topology.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to contribute to thecomprehension of management education in the Global South, focusing on how contextual specificities, exemplified in the Colombian case, have driven curricular reforms. These reforms harmonize traditional practical training with a substantial emphasis on humanities education. to

Design/methodology/approach

Using a historical approach, this study conducts a heuristic and hermeneutic analysis of historical primary documents from archives, secondary sources and interviews.

Findings

The curricular reforms in Eafit’s Business Administration program responded to the need to diverge from a model borrowed from the United States. This departure leads to organic transformations that empower the inclusion of humanities for holistic professional manager education. This holistic approach was aimed to equip graduates to address organizational challenges and unique local issues, transcending conventional boundaries of education.

Research limitations/implications

This research serves as an initial exploration of a Global South case, laying the groundwork for future analyses of analogous cases. Comparative studies may eventually provide a more comprehensive understanding of management education beyond the Global North.

Originality/value

This work pioneers a relatively unexplored area of literature by investigating the history, unique aspects of business administration curricula and the role of curricular reforms within specific contexts. It is particularly pertinent in understanding the distinctive characteristics of business schools in the Global South. These institutions initially took inspiration from well-established American counterparts and literature reflecting Northern Global settings. However, they introduced innovations tailored to their local demands. This study spotlights the distinctive character of management education in Latin America, emphasizing a robust humanistic component.
