Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that by utilizing the relationship between redundant hardware components, inherent in parallel machinery, vibration-based fault detection methods can be made more robust to changes in operational conditions. This work reports on a study of fault detection on bearings operating in two parallel subsystems that experience identical changes in speed and load.
Design/methodology/approach
This study was carried out using two identical subsystems that operate on the same duty cycle. The systems were run with both healthy and a variety of common bearing faults. The faults were detected by analyzing the residual between the features of the two vibration signatures from the two subsystems.
Findings
This work found that by utilizing this relationship in parallel operating machinery the fault detection process can be improved. The study looked at several different types of feature vector and found that, in this case, features based on envelope analysis or autoregressive model work the best, whereas basic statistical features did not work as well.
Originality/value
The proposed method can be a computationally efficient and simple solution to monitoring non-stationary machinery where there is hardware redundancy present. This method is shown to have some advantages over non-parallel approaches.

Abstract
This study sought to understand how a leader’s leadership is affected by their salient identities. To achieve this, the study employed a qualitative paradigm using a phenomenological methodology. Ultimately, the study worked to craft a shared understanding of how identity is experienced by leaders within the context of their own leadership. Textual descriptions are provided for each of the three themes of awareness and salience, leader differentiation and context affiliation, and identity as a situational factor in leadership. Implications for research and practice are highlighted for leadership educators.

Abstract
Purpose
Marketing has been seen as one of the greatest problems faced by small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), but simultaneously one of the most important activities for their growth and survival. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to determine the importance and role of entrepreneurial marketing in SMEs.
Design/methodology/approach
To reach this goal, a qualitative approach was adopted, with two case studies (SMEs) selected. As data-collecting instruments, interviews and documentary analysis were used, and the data-treatment technique was content analysis.
Findings
The empirical evidence obtained shows that the importance of entrepreneurial marketing is recognized, but that it differs considerably according to firm size. In the SMEs studied, marketing is informal and reactive to market opportunities and the founder-entrepreneur has an influence on the decision-making process.
Practical implications
The study contributes to the existing research about the role the founder-entrepreneur can have in the firm's ability to develop entrepreneurial marketing activities. From a practical viewpoint, the study has found that entrepreneurial marketing is based on networking to build and support marketing activity and it is associated with the use and development of the marketing management competencies of their entrepreneurs.
Originality/value
The study is innovative because the authors are able to outline empirically new issues for future investigation in this area of scarce research. Second, an integrative and holistic model is proposed for entrepreneurial marketing in SMEs and this represents the primary contribution of the study.

Abstract
Purpose
Education is subject to the same pressures as a business, it has to spur innovation, improve customer service and achieve operational excellence. Education is expected to solve intricate problems that heralded the twenty-first century. Niche areas emerged in education that need further study and research. The authors postulate such demands may be met by information and communication technologies (ICTs) that opened up the avenue for innovation and experimentation in education. One such innovation is online learning and massive open online courses (MOOCs) that represent immense opportunities in education. With their advent, even the permanent relevance of physical classrooms has been questioned. The purpose of this paper is to answer to all these questions and attempts to fill gaps in the understanding of the future of education.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper came into being after a review of literature pertaining to the changing ecosystem of education and an analysis of newer platforms like MOOCs. The paper surveyed books, scholarly articles, reports, conference proceedings and online databases in the area of education and related technological developments.
Findings
The existence of MOOCs in the education landscape cannot be ignored. This is proven by the fact that MOOC enrollment surpassed 35 million users in 2015. MOOCs were considered a popular concept in the developed world to start with. But, today MOOCs are being offered by universities in developing nations too. As the number of participant countries increases, MOOCs in vernacular languages are being developed to overcome the language barrier. The paper found that the online model cannot replace the brick and mortar model completely. Rather, it will complement it by providing an enriching experience to various stakeholders, including the learner and the instructor. In the future, students will have the advantage of a blended classroom where the best of online and offline models converge into an optimal experience.
Research limitations/implications
As the theme of the paper is new and the educational landscape continues to evolve, it is very difficult to determine the pace of transformation of education. However, the authors have tried to suggest a conceptual framework for the future in education, subject to empirical validation.
Practical implications
This paper helps us understand that we are in a rapidly evolving scenario where innovations have the potential to disrupt the existing model. Such disruptions can have behavioral, economical and social ramifications. A better understanding of such alterations will help academicians equip themselves for evolving classrooms and the changing nature of their jobs. The new ICT enabled ecosystem will also try to overcome issues related to the quality of education and knowledge dissemination.
Originality/value
The present paper is a comprehensive study of the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging classrooms.

Abstract
Purpose
The research on financial satisfaction has risen substantially in recent years due to its importance in personal financial planning and individuals’ subjective well-being. Hence, this study aims to map the existing literature on financial satisfaction to present the current state of knowledge and identify substantial gaps.
Design/methodology/approach
The present review uses 109 articles published between 1985 and March 2024 and retrieved from the Scopus database. The study deploys a systematic literature review (SLR), bibliometric analysis and content analysis to attain the objectives. Through bibliometric analysis, the present study highlights the most influential authors, journals, countries and affiliations, augmenting the literature on financial satisfaction. Moreover, the study presents the detailed antecedents and consequences of financial satisfaction through content analysis.
Findings
The study outlines that most studies in the financial satisfaction area revolve around its antecedents and consequences. The review details multiple antecedents affecting financial satisfaction, such as socioeconomic, psychological, social, personality, religious, financial literacy, financial behavior and technological factors. The prominent consequences of financial satisfaction include subjective well-being, life satisfaction, happiness, emotional and financial well-being, relationship quality, work engagement and sustainable growth.
Originality/value
The present research is an inaugural SLR that comprehensively maps the existing intellectual structure on financial satisfaction. In addition, it offers future research directions for further developments on the subject.
