Abstract
Whenever I find myself confronted with the type of form that one has to fill in when passing through immigration control, or registering at a hotel or applying for a credit card I can usually remember my name and address without too much difficulty but I am becoming increasingly troubled when it comes to filling in the box headed ‘occupation’. A few years ago I would have put in ‘telecommunications’ or ‘telecommunicator’ and would have felt confident that I knew what that meant even if the person reading the form did not—that is, if anyone does actually read these forms. But, during the course of last year—the year of Information Technology, IT82—it was borne upon me that telecommunications was but a sub‐set of something much bigger and grander, namely Information Technology (IT). So should I say that I am an ‘information technologist’?

Abstract
Civil engineering index ‐ The latest major file of trade catalogues in microform to be published is ‘Construction and civil engineering index’ by Technical Indexes Ltd (NLW February 1982). Although some of us are more familiar with the very efficient ti cartridge catalogues, this new index comes on microfiche on a reduction of 24x. The file is updated quarterly, contains over 4000 product references, and is classified by the CI/sfB—that is the widely used construction industry classification imported in the early 'sixties by the Royal Institute of British Architects from Sweden; the ‘sfB’ comes from the Swedish ‘Samar Betskommitten Sör Byggnadsfragor’ which is the name of the committee set up in Sweden in 1947 to produce the scheme. Technical Indexes have published a brochure giving further details of the index and catalogues. The total annual cost of the service is about £1500, but it is possible to purchase particular sections separately. Abstract
This chapter addresses the issue of the Global South external debt by mobilizing insights from Modern Monetary Theory, Ecological Economics, and Dependency Theory. It argues that the external debt problem of Southern governments is a reflection of their subordinate economic and monetary status. It shows why the argument of foreign currency shortage often used to explain the need for Southern governments to issue foreign currency debts remains superficial. In contrast to the usual focus on creditors, the chapter highlights the role played by foreign direct investment in the genesis of the chronic external indebtedness of most Southern countries. It argues then that the external debt of the South must be understood holistically not only as a manifestation of the unequal ecological exchange between the North and the South but also as an instrument that has contributed to reproducing and amplifying this pattern. Under these conditions, the cancellation or restructuring of the South's external debt stock and a few other unlikely concessions by the Northern countries will not be enough to abolish the “debt system.” This is an important lesson from the antiimperialist critique of the mid-1970s New International Economic Order (NIEO) agenda that current movements for Southern debt cancellation and Climate Justice would do well to remember.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of asset redeployability on the level of corporate cash holdings.
Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of asset redeployability on the level of corporate cash holdings.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors use regression analysis to examine the relation between asset redeployability and corporate cash holdings.
Findings
Using a large panel sample of US public firms from 1990 to 2020, the authors find a significant positive relation between asset redeployability and cash, which suggests that firms with more redeployable assets hold more cash.
Originality/value
The authors contribute to a growing literature in accounting and finance that investigates the impact of asset redeployability on firm characteristics and also contribute to the literature on the determinants of cash holdings.

Abstract
Purpose
For many, the sole source for news content is social media, where passionate opinions are posted at an alarming speed. These opinions can cross the line from differing opinions shared in a public forum onto uncivil dialogue and even hate speech. Such online discourse threatens democratic values and creates a hostile environment. The purpose of this paper is to examine such incivility using the case of four congresswomen known as “The Squad”.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors conducted a content analysis examining 20,563 replies to tweets sent by the four congresswomen. The social media data analysis and library, Brandwatch, was used to aggregate tweets posted by the four representatives, as well as all the replies posted to these tweets. The replies were coded to understand the types of incivility against each of the four congresswomen, whether the topics of a tweet can predict the types of incivility received in response, and the impact of Trump's tweet against the congresswomen.
Findings
The study findings show that the majority of replies contained uncivil language. The most common types of incivility are related to name-calling, stereotypes, threats to individual rights and vulgarity. Tweets about immigration and the Muslim ban, as well as tweets with negative tones received more replies. Following Donald Trump's Twitter attack on the representatives, replies to the congresswomen's tweets almost doubled. Mainly two types of incivility were observed to have increased significantly – the use of stereotypes and threats to individual rights.
Originality/value
The study examines incivility on Twitter against four black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) congresswomen as an exploratory case to observe and understand the growing phenomenon of uncivil language which feeds a polarized society and threatens democratic values. “The Squad” is more than an isosteric case study. It captures key changes in American politics. In the context of democratic discourse, the attack by the former president on these congresswomen and the response on social media address key issues of gender, religion and race in the United States.

Abstract
Chemical Abstracts Service has recently introduced a new data base, CA SEARCH, which is supposed to replace CA CONDENSATES and CASIA, and which is, in effect, a combination of the two. Two major U.S. search services, Lockheed Retrieval Service (LRS) and System Development Corporation (SDC), offer access to CA SEARCH. Bibliographic Retrieval Service (BRS) will also soon load CA SEARCH, but is presently offering CA CONDENSATES.
The meeting is part of an agreement reached at the White House on May 21. That followed President Donald Trump's May 20 call for a probe into whether the FBI or justice department…
