Abstract
Purpose
The paper aims to study the effect of sintering temperature on the microstructure, shear strength and ratcheting fatigue life of nanosilver sintered lap shear joint. In addition, the Gerber model is used to predict the ratcheting fatigue lives of nanosilver sintered lap shear joints at different sintering temperatures.
Design/methodology/approach
In this paper, the nanosilver sintered lap shear joints were prepared at three sintering temperatures of 250 °C, 280 °C and 310 °C. The bonding quality was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope and shear tests, and the long-term reliability was studied by conducting ratcheting fatigue tests. In addition, three modified models based on Basquin equation were used to predict the ratcheting fatigue life of nanosilver sintered lap shear joint and their accuracies were evaluated.
Findings
When the sintering temperature is 250°C, the nanosilver sintered lap shear joint shows the porosity of 22.9 ± 1.6 %, and the shear strength of 22.3 ± 2.4 MPa. Raising the sintering temperature enhances silver crystallite size, strengthens sintering necks, thus improves shear strength and ratcheting fatigue life in joints. In addition, the ratcheting fatigue lives of the joints sintered at different temperatures are effectively predicted by three equivalent force models, and the Gerber model shows the highest life prediction accuracy.
Research limitations/implications
The sintered silver bondline is suffering a complex stress state. The study only takes the shear stress into consideration. The tensile stress and the combination of shear stress and tensile stress can to be considered in the future study.
Practical implications
The paper provides the experimental and theoretical support for robust bonding and long-term reliability of sintered silver structure.
Social implications
The introduced model can predict the ratcheting fatigue lives of the joints sintered at different temperatures, which shows a potential in engineering applications.
Originality/value
The study revealed the relationship between the sintering temperature and the microstructure, the shear strength and the ratcheting fatigue life of the joint. In addition, the Gerber model can predict the ratcheting fatigue life accurately at different sintering temperatures.

Abstract
Purpose
During metro construction using the shield method, the construction process's complexity, the construction environment's variability, and other factors can easily lead to tunnel construction accidents. This paper aims to explore the interconnections between risk factors and related accident types, as well as the risk chain formed between risk factors, and to analyze the key risk factors and vulnerabilities in shield tunnel construction through empirical data.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the social network analysis theory, the connection of various risk factors in subway shield tunnel construction is explored, and the mechanism of multiple risk factors is studied. Through literature analysis, articles on safety risk factors in metro shield tunnel construction are organized and studied, and the identified safety risk factors can comprehensively reflect the significant risks that need to be concerned in metro shield tunnel construction.
Findings
The results show that a small world characterizes the SNA network of safety risk factors for metro shield tunnel construction: The frequency of association between the five risk factors “unsafe behavior,” “site management,” “safety supervision and inspection,” “safety education system” and “safety protection” is higher than that of other factors. Only a few risks, such as “site management,” “safety supervision and inspection,” and “rapid response capability,” directly lead to accidents. In addition, risk factors such as the “safety education system” and “safety protection” will indirectly cause unsafe behaviors of construction personnel.
Research limitations/implications
During construction, the probability of occurrence of risk factors may vary with the construction phase and area and is not considered in this paper. In addition, although this paper identifies, determines and analyzes the risk factors affecting the safety of metro shield tunnel construction, including the importance of each risk factor and the connection between them, more detailed information before and after the accident could not be obtained based on the accident investigation report alone. Therefore, future research can collect the same accident case from more sources to obtain more information.
Practical implications
The theory of accident causation has been improved at the theoretical level. The identified safety risk factors can comprehensively reflect the significant risks that need to be paid attention to in metro shield tunnel construction. From a practical point of view, the results of the study provide a basis for the rational control of the risk factors in the construction of subway shield tunnels, which can help guide practitioners to do a good job of risk prevention before the construction of metro shield tunnels and reduce the probability of related accidents.
Originality/value
This study expands the application of social network analysis in the field of subway tunnel construction risk, quantitatively analyzes the key risk factors and vulnerabilities in shield method tunnel construction and proposes policy recommendations for future metro tunnel construction safety management.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to present a prototype of medical transportation robot whose positioning accuracy can reach millimeter-level in terms of patient transportation. By using this kind of mobile robot, a fully automatic image diagnosis process among independent CT/PET devices and the image fusion can be achieved.
Design/methodology/approach
Following a short introduction, a large-load 4WD-4WS (four-wheel driving and four-wheel steering) mobile robot for carrying patient among multiple medical imaging equipments is developed. At the same time, a specially designed bedplate with self-locking function is also introduced. For further improving the positioning accuracy, the authors proposed a calibration method based on Gaussian process regression (GPR) to process the measuring data of the sensors. The performance of this robot is verified by the calibration experiment and Image fusion experiment. Finally, concluding comments are drawn.
Findings
By calibrating the robot’s positioning system through the proposed GPR method, one can obtain the accuracy of the robot’s offset distance and deflection angle, which are 0.50 mm and +0.21°, respectively. Independent repeated trials were then set up to verify this result. Subsequent phantom experiment shows the accuracy of image fusion can be accurate within 0.57 mm in the front-rear direction and 0.83 in the left-right direction, respectively, while the clinical experiment shows that the proposed robot can practically realize the transportation of patient and image fusion between multiple imaging diagnosis devices.
Practical implications
The proposed robot offers an economical image fusion solution for medical institutions whose imaging diagnosis system basically comprises independent MRI, CT and PET devices. Also, a fully automatic diagnosis process can be achieved so that the patient’s suffering of getting in and out of the bed and the doctor’s radiation dose can be obviated.
Social implications
The general bedplate presented in Section 2 that can be mounted on the CT and PET devices and the self-locking mechanism has realized the catching and releasing motion of the patient on different medical devices. They also provide a detailed method regarding patient handling and orientation maintenance, which was hardly mentioned in previous research. By establishing the positioning system between the robot and different medical equipment, a fully automatic diagnosis process can be achieved so that the patient’s suffering of getting in and out of the bed and the doctor’s radiation dose can be obviated.
Originality/value
The GPR-based method proposed in this paper offers a novel method for enhancing the positioning accuracy of the industrial AGV while the transportation robot proposed in this paper also offers a solution for modern imaging fusion diagnosis, which are basically predicated on the conjoint analysis between different kinds of medical devices.

Purpose
This study examines the impact of perceptions of coworkers’ developmental i-deals on employees’ pro-organizational (POV) and self-interested voice (SIV) behaviors in high-tech companies, exploring the mediating role of perceived relative deprivation and the moderating role of psychological entitlement in these relationships.
Design/methodology/approach
The study conducted a multi-wave, multi-source questionnaire survey among 409 employees in China. Statistical analyses were conducted using AMOS 22 and the PROCESS macro in SPSS 26.
Findings
The results suggest that perceptions of coworkers’ developmental i-deals decreased employees’ POV behaviors and increased SIV behaviors through focal employees’ perceived relative deprivation. In addition, employees’ psychological entitlement reinforced the effects of perceptions of coworkers’ developmental i-deals on employees’ perceived relative deprivation.
Originality/value
Utilizing relative deprivation theory, this study discovered a new mediating mechanism (i.e. perceived relative deprivation) that links perceptions of coworkers’ developmental i-deals to focal employees’ POV behaviors and SIV behaviors. In addition, this study also revealed the moderating role of psychological entitlement in the relationship between perceptions of coworkers’ developmental i-deals and the focal employee’s relative deprivation.
