Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to propose a method for automatically labelling an affective lexicon with intensity values by using the WordNet Similarity (WS) software package with the purpose of improving the results of an affective analysis process, which is relevant to interpreting the textual information that is available in social networks. The hypothesis states that it is possible to improve affective analysis by using a lexicon that is enriched with the intensity values obtained from similarity metrics. Encouraging results were obtained when an affective analysis based on a labelled lexicon was compared with that based on another lexicon without intensity values.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors propose a method for the automatic extraction of the affective intensity values of words using the similarity metrics implemented in WS. First, the intensity values were calculated for words having an affective root in WordNet. Then, to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposal, the results of the affective analysis based on a labelled lexicon were compared to the results of an analysis with and without affective intensity values.
Findings
The main contribution of this research is a method for the automatic extraction of the intensity values of affective words used to enrich a lexicon compared with the manual labelling process. The results obtained from the affective analysis with the new lexicon are encouraging, as they provide a better performance than those achieved using a lexicon without affective intensity values.
Research limitations/implications
Given the restrictions for calculating the similarity between two words, the lexicon labelled with intensity values is a subset of the original lexicon, which means that a large proportion of the words in the corpus are not labelled in the new lexicon.
Practical implications
The practical implications of this work include providing tools to improve the analysis of the feelings of the users of social networks. In particular, it is of interest to provide an affective lexicon that improves attempts to solve the problems of a digital society, such as the detection of cyberbullying. In this case, by achieving greater precision in the detection of emotions, it is possible to detect the roles of participants in a situation of cyberbullying, for example, the bully and victim. Other problems in which the application of affective lexicons is of importance are the detection of aggressiveness against women or gender violence or the detection of depressive states in young people and children.
Social implications

Originality/value
The originality of the research lies in the proposed method for automatically labelling the words of an affective lexicon with intensity values by using WS. To date, a lexicon labelled with intensity values has been constructed using the opinions of experts, but that method is more expensive and requires more time than other existing methods. On the other hand, the new method developed herein is applicable to larger lexicons, requires less time and facilitates automatic updating.

Abstract
The construction sector has significantly evolved in recent decades, in parallel with a huge increase in the amount of data generated and exchanged in any construction project. These data need to be managed in order to complete a successful project in terms of quality, cost and schedule in the the context of a safe project environment while appropriately organising many construction documents.
However, the origin of these data is very diverse, mainly due to the sector’s characteristics. Moreover, these data are affected by uncertainty, complexity and diversity due to the imprecise nature of the many factors involved in construction projects. As a result, construction project data are associated with large, irregular and scattered datasets.
The objective of this chapter is to introduce an approach based on a fuzzy multi-dimensional model and on line analytical processing (OLAP) operations in order to manage construction data and support the decision-making process based on previous experiences. On one hand, the proposal allows for the integration of data in a common repository which is accessible to users along the whole project’s life cycle. On the other hand, it allows for the establishment of more flexible structures for representing the data of the main tasks in the construction project management domain. The incorporation of this fuzzy framework allows for the management of imprecision in construction data and provides easy and intuitive access to users so that they can make more reliable decisions.

Purpose
This paper aims to purpose the new design and fabrication scheme of Touch Mode Capacitive Pressure Sensor (TMCPS), which can be used in a wireless integrated resistor, inductor and capacitor circuit for monitoring pressure in biomedical applications.
Design/methodology/approach
This study focuses on the design, simulation and fabrication of dynamic capacitors, based on surface micromachining using polysilicon or aluminum films as the top electrode, both structural materials are capped with a 1.5 μm-thick polyimide film.
Findings
The design of microstructures using a composite model fits perfectly the preset mechanical behavior. After the full fabrication, the dynamic capacitors show complete mechanical flexibility and stability.
Originality/value
The novelty of the method presented in this study includes two important aspects: first, the capacitors are designed as a planar cavity within a rigid frame, where two walls contain channels which allow for the etching of the sacrificial material. Second, the electromechanical structures are designed using a composite model that includes a polyimide film capping for a precise pressure sensing, which also protects the internal cavity and, at the same time, provides full biocompatibility.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore the connections between individual learning, intrapreneurship, and organizational learning to create an alternative model of how learning facilitates performance in organizations.
Design/methodology/approach
This is a conceptual paper selecting targeted scholarly works that provide support for the proposed model.
Findings
The paper presents a model of intrapreneurial learning and performance in which the constructs of environment, individual learning, intrapreneurship, and organizational learning influence organizational performance. Intrapreneurship is a relatively recent area of exploration in which scholarly efforts have primarily focused on identifying the construct and distinguishing it from entrepreneurship. The proposed model of intrapreneurial learning and performance joins a growing number of works that explore how intrapreneurship contributes to organizational performance. It is suggested that the framework may help scholars identify potential strategies of learning that could help organizations position intrapreneurship as a vehicle for improving organizational performance.
Originality/value
The paper postulates an original relationship among individual learning, intrapreneurship, organizational learning, environment, and organizational performance. In this framework, individual and organizational learning combine to offer a unique perspective on the link between intrapreneurship and organizational performance.

To deal with the new circumstances arising in the digital environment, with its particular conditions for the access, distribution and use of intellectual works, three distinct approaches exist: legal (copyright laws are modified to adapt them to the new context), technological (systems designed to control access and use of works), and contractual (through licenses to regulate the conditions of use of the works). The joint use of technological measures and licenses, together with the laws that protect both, are seriously endangering the effectiveness of the limitations to copyright set forth by law to benefit libraries, their users and citizens in general. This represents a strong privatisation of access to information. Using as a point of reference the laws of countries that are on the front lines of this terrain – the USA, the European Union and Australia – some problems created by the new forms of protection of intellectual works are examined.

The requisite of creativity set down by copyright laws does not fit well into the context of digital databases. The risk of being unprotected increases in the case of factual compilations, as simple facts or data are not copyrightable, meaning that their contents can easily be copied and/or used by others without infringing copyright. After more than a decade of intense debate about the need to give or not give additional protection to non‐original databases, and about the most appropriate model to follow, international consensus is still far away. This paper analyses the situation at the present point of the long, heated process of harmonising the legal protection of databases. The European directive is first examined, as well as attempts to extrapolate it to other countries. Then the paper looks at some proposals from the USA, and finally at the treaties and projects of an international nature.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the international strengthening of copyright law in developing countries and the active involvement of the international library community in the movement against it.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper describes the overprotection of intellectual property rights through international and bilateral treaties, the reaction against such through the proposal of a WIPO development agenda, and the contribution of the international library organizations to the debates and discussions in the WIPO arena.
Findings
The initiative for a development agenda for WIPO has proven much more successful than many had imagined, even its promoters. The most relevant proposals made by the international library community were included in the final list of approved recommendations.
Originality/value
The paper raises awareness of the relationship between copyright and access to knowledge and, in consequence, the need for library organizations to exert influence in such legislation.

The purpose of this paper is to determine the level of knowledge, among university professors, about copyright problems related to e‐learning activities.
Design/methodology/approach
An online questionnaire was used to survey professors teaching subjects online.
Findings
There is a considerable lack of knowledge on the part of professors regarding copyright issues, both in general terms and in specific matters related to digital learning. Strong discrepancies are found between the text of the law and the notion actually held by professors as to how legislators have formulated the law.
Originality/value
This information may be useful for professors themselves as well as for persons managing the e‐learning platforms of universities. It demonstrates that the law was reformed without any discussion with those actually engaged in online teaching.
