Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to review some of the main aviation innovations that have taken place in the past 75 years and also provide some insights into the future of the sector until the end of the twenty-first century.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper uses a historical approach by identifying the main regulatory, technological and economic innovations that have allowed aviation to become such a global phenomenon, supporting the tourism industry worldwide. A similar approach is used to identify future innovations to support safe, sustainable and customer-focused advancements in the next 75 years.
Findings
No particular findings, but rather a timeline of remarkable developments (1945-2095) perspectives of air transport innovations.
Originality/value
This paper is a short review of the main innovations that have supported the air transport industry in the past 75 years, while predicting some other innovations to support the sector in the future.

Abstract
Purpose
Today, organizations must be able to create innovative strategies, and creative performance depends on knowing what hinders or stimulates creativity. This paper aims to determine which factors in the workplace environment positively or negatively affect creativity by analyzing individuals’ perceptions in a sample of Brazilian industrial companies.
Design/methodology/approach
The discussion is based on the componential theory of creativity and the use of a recognized research instrument (KEYS). A regression analysis was carried out, using eight environmental factors related to creativity. The purpose of the collection is to observe the statistical relationships between the scales of the factors and the results related to creativity.
Findings
Among the eight factors of the original componential theory, only three were found to have a significant impact on the creative process: organizational incentives, challenging work and support from the work group.
Research limitations/implications
The sample in this study was relatively small, and a larger sample will be required to undertake factor analysis.
Practical implications
Possible implications for the management of innovation in the Brazilian context are discussed in light of these results.
Originality/value
This study contributed to the production of knowledge, still scarce in the country, about the search for creative solutions through the work environment by confirming which factors are significant and determinants of creative performance and challenging factors that had already been proven by other studies in non-Brazilian contexts.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to evaluate the effects of the synergy between monitoring technologies and deforestation control policies promoted by the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Legal Amazon (PPCDAm) during its initial stage.
Design/methodology/approach
The triple difference method is employed to explore the differences between the non-metropolitan municipalities with Indigenous lands and other regional municipalities.
Findings
The findings indicate a reduction of approximately 16.1 km² per municipality between 2004 and 2007. This reduction corresponds to a decrease of 10,293 km² in the area of deforestation and a total of 498 million tons of CO2. To ensure the robustness of the results, placebo tests, event study and flexibility in the composition of the groups were conducted. The robustness tests substantiate the findings.
Practical implications
These results emphasize the significance of remote monitoring policies for controlling deforestation in isolated regions and Indigenous lands. Additionally, such results indicate that the policy was cost-effective.
Originality/value
This study innovates by examining the causal impact of the initial phase of the PPCDAm before 2008, a period not focused on existing literature. Further, employing the triple difference method innovates methodologically to assess PPCDAm's effect on deforestation in isolated Amazon areas.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to develop and empirically test a model in which antecedents of creativity are hypothesized to lead to enhance employee creativity and, subsequently, to increase innovative performance outcomes. Leader–member exchange (LMX) is posited as a moderator of the leader encouragement of creativity and employee creativity relationship.
Design/methodology/approach
This study is based on a sample of 163 employees working in various service organizations in Kuwait and pursuing an MBA. Structural equation modeling techniques with AMOS software were used to assess the relationships between the different constructs.
Findings
The findings show that all creativity antecedents are positively and significantly related to individual creativity, except for leader encouragement of creativity and perceived organizational support. The results show also that LMX mediates the relationship between leader encouragement of creativity and individual creativity, and that intrinsic motivation moderates the relationship between perceived organizational support and individual creativity.
Research limitations/implications
This study has several limitations including a small sample size, cross-sectional design, same-source bias and one point in time data. Future studies could examine these findings in different settings, use longitudinal design and capture a full range of creativity antecedents,
Originality/value
This study is the first to theorize and identify antecedents that promote individual creativity in a collectivist context (i.e. Kuwait). Moreover, this study is unique in that we predict that employee creativity is a mediating mechanism that can explain the link between creativity antecedents and creativity outcomes.
