Abstract
Purpose
During COVID 19 pandemic emergency remote teaching (ERT) in higher education emerged and faculty members had to go through a transformation in teaching-learning without preparedness. The purpose of the study is to understand the instructional delivery experiences of faculty members, explore the challenges and how they overcame these challenges during the transition from traditional classroom teaching to ERT.
Design/methodology/approach
A qualitative research approach using phenomenology is adapted for the study. The study is conducted in selected renowned government and private universities offering professional education in India, Malaysia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Data analysis is using NVivo, data management software, based on Ricouer’s theory of interpretation.
Findings
The findings identify unique challenges and opportunities in faculty experiences during the implementation of ERT and universities require more preparedness in implementing a revised pedagogy. Addressing these unique challenges is, therefore, essential in effective change management and ensuring the effectiveness of instructional delivery.
Research limitations/implications
The study comprises faculty experiences from only selected countries (the United Arab Emirates, Oman, India and Malaysia) and disciplines such as business studies, design and architecture, engineering, hospitality and tourism management, medicine and nursing. The research contributes towards change management and adaptability strategies during emergency transitions.
Practical implications
The study has implications in the field of education, administration, research and society at large. This is an era of change that has witnessed tremendous possibilities of digital technology in enhancing remote teaching and learning at all levels of education worldwide. The study enumerates the factors influencing the paradigm shift in the pedagogy for present and future higher education. The present study also highlights how challenging this transformation was to the lives of professional academics and emphasized how effectively the faculty need to be mentored for the future by the administration. Future research can envisage effective tools and techniques for strengthening professional education at universities. The social context and human experiences in ERT and their impact on the process of learning are also addressed in the study.
Social implications
The study aims to understand the social context and human experiences in the process of ERT and their impact on the process of learning.
Originality/value
The findings of the study would throw light into the factors influencing the paradigm shift in the pedagogy for present and future higher education.

This case study aims to explore how to provide an informal space to connect members socially, informally and with peers, to provide opportunities for collaboration and informal conversation. The purpose is to analyze the use of technology to promote collaborations and networking within online professional settings.
Design/methodology/approach
In this case study, the authors particularly examine the initiatives as they contribute to the organization, which allows us to understand the interactions between information technology-related tools and online communication.
Findings
Successful engagement in informal gatherings was initiated through the planning and implementation with a focus on the following: thematic meetings, time management and participation.
Originality/value
The case study presents an analysis of the use of technology integration into the planning processes that were undertaken by a group of members to enhance informal gatherings for relationship building within a global community of members during the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors suggest ways of engaging users that could be used as a model for organizations alike.

Purpose
Bandung city had constructed new facilities in urban areas or supplemented existing facilities to create a city branding of music-design-culinary. This paper aims to assess their potential as new tourist areas for urban. This study very little research explicitly to discuss new phenomena tourism from urban areas that raise the image of three branding concepts at once.
Design/methodology/approach
Qualitative research more emphasized meaning and process analysis. Data analysis was carried out by looking at the status of an urban community, an object and a set of conditions in the thought system or current cases. The supporting data analysis technique used in this research is spatial analysis overlay is one of the basic ways to create spatial relationships between music, design and culinary by processing the result SWOT analysis factor.
Findings
Three forms of brand imaging development can ultimately lift new changes in strengthening relationships for building a good image of the tourism city with visitors.
Originality/value
For developing a new branding that can be implemented, the actors necessary to identify and assess internal and external factors policy for further formulation development of tourism city strategy. These articles very few research to explore discuss new phenomena in urban tourism that raise the image of three branding concepts at once. The present work was a modest effort to fill this gap literature with uses a compilation of research findings separately from city branding in various cities used as a conceptual basis and a comparative analysis is then conducted of three schemes.

Purpose
This study aims to delve into entrepreneurs’ perceptions and interpretations of short video marketing on TikTok.
Design/methodology/approach
In light of the study’s exploratory nature, a qualitative approach was used. The authors conducted in-depth interviews with 17 entrepreneurs to uncover their insights on short video marketing via TikTok. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis and NVivo, and rigorous measures were in place to ensure the quality of the study.
Findings
This study’s findings suggested that entrepreneurs’ usage of TikTok is customer-oriented, with the purposes of promoting their businesses, generating word-of-mouth and managing customer relationships. As such, the gratification of connection with their audience, entertainment and information provision needs motivate entrepreneurs’ use of TikTok for social media marketing. Additionally, entrepreneurs’ use of TikTok may also contribute to their gratification of creativity and spontaneity needs, which may otherwise be limited in the context of other social media platforms.
Originality/value
This study expands the previous literature on entrepreneurship, social media marketing and the uses and gratification approach by revealing the specifics, nuances and dynamics of TikTok marketing from the entrepreneurs’ emic perspective.

This chapter examines the problem of teacher education as it unfolds in the Indian context. It focuses on the historical and cultural context in which teachers’ attitudes and identities develop. Attention is particularly paid to contextual factors that frame teachers’ actions beyond individual intentions. Possibilities for breaking these frames and engaging in new alternatives for action are imagined. An historical approach is employed to understand teachers’ current pedagogical beliefs and action, and its future orientation.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to evaluate whether promoter holding influences a bank’s liquidity in India’s leading emerging market. Furthermore, it also evaluates the moderating role of risk-weighted assets (RWA) on the relationship between promoter holding and liquidity.
Design/methodology/approach
The data consists of 24 banks for the period of 12 years from 2010 to 2021. Static panel data is used to analyze the relationship between the liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) as the dependent variable, the promoter used as an explanatory variable and RWA used as a moderating variable in this study.
Findings
This study concludes that an increase in promoter holding helps to improve the liquidity of Indian banks. Moreover, it also shows that using RWA as a moderating term enhances the relationship between promoter holdings and Indian banks’ liquidity.
Research limitations/implications
This study evaluated the impact of promoter ownership solely on the LCR, a statistic used to measure the short-term liquidity of banks in the Indian setting. Additional corporate governance factors, such as the makeup of the board of directors, relevant ownership concentration factors and external factors with the potential to affect the liquidity position of banks, could potentially be the subject of future investigations.
Practical implications
This paper has both managerial and policy-level implications. It shows that it is advantageous for banks’ ownership composition to include more enormous promoter holdings to enhance banks’ liquidity. Policymakers can, thus, formulate policies to encourage banks to have more extensive promoter holdings.
Originality/value
The impact of promoter ownership on bank liquidity has not been evaluated in earlier research projects. Furthermore, the use of RWA as a moderating variable to determine this link has not been fully investigated, particularly in the context of a developing country like India.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to understand whether the implementation of Indonesian conditional cash transfer (CCT), namely, Family Hope Program (FHP), holds the potential for influencing perceptions of beneficiary households in Mataram City about children’s education and early marriage.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used qualitative research methods of semi-structured in-depth interviews with beneficiary households. A total of 18 households with adolescent girls receiving FHP throughout six subdistricts in Mataram City were taken as key informants. Having mapped codes into the Capacity, Opportunity, Motivation – Behavior model, this study used thematic analysis to identify the most mentioned factors to facilitate and to hinder the efforts of early marriage prevention.
Findings
This study reveals that the FHP beneficiaries had realized the importance of education for their children, which could be used as a facilitator for the FHP to prevent early marriages. On the other hand, local customary arrangement was found to be the main barrier for the government to prevent early marriage cases in Mataram City. This barrier was exacerbated with rebellious character of the children. Therefore, the implementation of local customary arrangement needs to be evaluated together with more socialization about the consequence of early marriage to the children through the role of program facilitators or teachers at school.
Originality/value
Different from existing literature in CCT and early marriage which uses quantitative analysis, this study uses qualitative approach to construe the views and perceptions of the program participants. Use of the qualitative approach offers a different viewpoint and supplements the existing literature in this area.

Abstract
Yoga has become increasingly visible globally. Most of the visibility occurs through the physical (annamaya1) kosha aspects of yoga: physical health and well-being through asana2 and pranayama3 practices, in addition to the Manomaya kosha, the mental sheath, of an individual through dhyana,4 or meditation, and chanting of mantras.5 All of this is geared towards the individual and one’s ability to balance oneself in any given situation. Such practices support a bottom-up conceptualisation of yoga, giving agency to the individual. This chapter looks at the opportunities for yoga to enter organisational management, through organisational structure (chakravyuha6 formation), employee engagement and assessment (gunas7 and chakras8), and ethical leadership (yamas and niyamas9), among other aspects. It looks at how top-down systems can adapt through the utilisation of yogic principles and philosophies in everyday practice in organisations (Panchakoshas, 2021).

Abstract
Purpose
The paper aims to examine whether conditional cash transfer (CCT) program has effect on educational aspirations of poor parents for their children. Specifically, it investigates the effect of Indonesian CCT program, Family Hope Program, on the number of schooling years parents aspire their children to attain.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper uses data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) 2007 and 2014 to capture periods before and after the implementation of the Family Hope Program. Propensity score matching and difference-in-differences are employed to estimate the impact of the CCT program on parental education aspirations.
Findings
This research finds that CCT program increases parents' aspiration of their children's education up to one schooling year. This impact is robust across all matching specifications.
Research limitations/implications
There is a limited sample size of the program participants as identified in the data set which would likely reduce statistical power of the estimator. The result is also potentially sensitive to hidden bias; hence it should be cautiously interpreted.
Social implications
From a policy viewpoint, the program is able to change parents' desire for their children to acquire more education. Given the program's concern on human capital of the children, this is a good sign that if the transfers were ceased the education of subsequent children would be less likely to return to pre-program levels.
Originality/value
Since the existing literature focuses on Latin America, no empirical evidence is found in other developing countries with different institutional setting. This paper makes important contributions by examining whether CCT program increases parents' educational aspirations in Indonesia, a lower middle-income country in Southeast Asia with salient sociodemographic status as the largest Muslim population and fourth most populous country in the world.
