This case study illustrates the importance of attention to process features in effecting change through workplace training and development of employees. In contrast, the HR professionals responsible for ensuring appropriate training and development seem unaware of the importance of this process perspective in providing effective programs. Content deliverables drive decision‐making and process is rarely, if ever, considered. The authors outline some principles that designers may want to incorporate more deliberately into their leadership training and development programs and, similarly, HR professionals may want to consider these as important criteria for contract decisions.

Following is an annotated bibliography of materials published in 1974 on orienting the users to the library and instructing them in the use of library resources. Since this is a continuation of last year's review of the literature, some 1973 publications are included because they were not available for last year's perusal. Even though only English language materials are included in this review, it should be noted that library instruction has become a concern in many other countries which reported many surveys, program reports, and recommendations in their national library literature in 1973–74. Such publications have appeared in East and West Germany, Sweden, Finland, Japan, Rumania, Norway, France, Soviet Union, South Africa, Czechoslovakia, etc.

Abstract
Recent years have witnessed the growth of a new food problem—foreign matter in articles of food and drink, which are not there by design, but largely by accident and, to some extent, by carelessness, and in the greatest number of cases, resulting from the enormous development of machine preparation of food, mechanisation of packing and bottling processes, as well as the concentration of food manufacturing into larger and larger units. The tide of prosecutions for this type of offence shows no signs of abating; they probably exceed all other offences under food legislation. Nor can they be expected to with this increasing trend in the food industry. The machine operative has replaced the old hand craftsman and it would probably be fair to say that many of the personal objects found in food preparations result from mechanisation, for a cigarette end or other object accidentally dropped into a fast‐moving food matrix is quickly beyond recall! The cases which go to prosecution, however, do not represent by any means all those incidents which are reported to public health and other departments, and these in turn are only a fraction of the cases which are never reported at all.

Abstract
Purpose
This study clarifies the factors that foster individual innovative behaviour in the public sector by examining the effects and roles of empowering leadership, work group cohesiveness and individual learning orientation. This study also explores the direct effect of empowering leadership on work group cohesiveness and individual learning orientation, the influence of work group cohesiveness on individual learning orientation and the mediating roles of work group cohesiveness and individual learning orientation.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from an online survey of respondents working in a public sector organization. Partial least squares structural equation modelling and mediation analysis by the bootstrap method were used for the data analysis.
Findings
Empowering leadership and individual learning orientation had significant direct effects on individual innovative behaviour. Both empowering leadership and work group cohesiveness have significant direct effects on individual learning orientation. Empowering leadership was positively related to work group cohesiveness. The mediation analysis revealed that individual learning orientation mediates the relationships between empowering leadership and individual innovative behaviour and between work group cohesiveness and individual innovative behaviour.
Research limitations/implications
The study focuses on three factors that foster individual innovative behaviour in a public sector organization.
Originality/value
This study offers new insights into the factors that foster individual innovative behaviour in the public sector. The findings reveal the importance of using a balanced leadership style and encourage learning in the workplace for individual innovativeness by public leaders.

Abstract
Purpose
This case study delves into the evolving landscape of equity, inclusion and diversity (EID) initiatives within the health-care sector, with a specific focus on the “EverybodyIN” program implemented at the Mayo Clinic, a large academic Medical Center in the USA. Against the backdrop of growing awareness catalyzed by societal events, this case study aims to explore the multifaceted aspects of workplace conversations aimed at addressing racial disparities and fostering a more inclusive environment.
Design/methodology/approach
The case study relies on the application of critical race theory and a social constructionist approach to investigate the impact of a subset of voluntary educational conversations that were centered on the Black/African-American experience, on staff members’ racial understanding and allyship within the health-care organization. Through thematic analysis of postevent surveys and participant sentiments, three overarching themes emerged: appreciation, education and validation.

The findings underscore the pivotal role of leadership buy-in, evidence-based practices, health equity and an ongoing commitment to “the journey” in successful EID efforts. President Bill Clinton has had many opponents and enemies, most of whom come from the political right wing. Clinton supporters contend that these opponents, throughout the Clinton presidency, systematically have sought to undermine this president with the goal of bringing down his presidency and running him out of office; and that they have sought non‐electoral means to remove him from office, including Travelgate, the death of Deputy White House Counsel Vincent Foster, the Filegate controversy, and the Monica Lewinsky matter. This bibliography identifies these and other means by presenting citations about these individuals and organizations that have opposed Clinton. The bibliography is divided into five sections: General; “The conspiracy stream of conspiracy commerce”, a White House‐produced “report” presenting its view of a right‐wing conspiracy against the Clinton presidency; Funding; Conservative organizations; and Publishing/media. Many of the annotations note the links among these key players.
