Abstract
This paper describes the methods used by the Pilkington Group Technical Communications Centre to ensure that all staff in the Pilkington Organization have clearly defined and easily accessible means of obtaining technical information. As far as we are aware we are the first organization to try to formalize the concept of ‘Technological Gate Keepers’, who have been shown by Professor T. J. Allen to be the major means by which information flows within the organization. A ‘Gate Keeper’ is a person who is usually consulted by his colleagues for information; this consultation takes place as a first step in obtaining information and in spite of any other avenues open to the enquirer.

Abstract
What follows is an attempt to pull together the threads of what one person got out of the conference. Unavoidably, my selection of threads is a personal one, and in consequence my embroidery cannot pretend to objectivity. I am sure I shall have missed much that others will have found of interest and value.

Abstract
THE LIBRARY ASSOCIATION'S worsening financial position is a matter of general concern, and any constructive suggestions will no doubt be helpful to the Honorary Treasurer and others who plan our finances. The present Library Association structure is workable in practice, but it is becoming increasingly expensive to maintain, and a little thought begins to show the possibilities of economy, without any loss of effectiveness. The most important associated factor at the present time is the possibility of drastic local government reorganisation in 1974, only one year after the earliest date when Library Association subscriptions can be increased. The effect of this reorganisation, as at present proposed, on Library Association structure, needs to be borne in mind.

Abstract
Management consultants have been described as ‘the people who borrow your watch to tell you what time it is and then walk off with the watch’. But Robert Townsend's refreshing anti‐management text makes equally damaging remarks about directors, advertising, purchasing and management. The Management Consultant Association however, report that in 1972 fee income reached a record £30.3 million.

Abstract
Considering the rising number of first generation college students (FGCSs), an increased number of first generation college graduates should be expected. Historically Black Colleges and Universities have long served as a landing place for these students. While research has focused on the barriers to access and persistence for this population, there has been little discussion about the FGCSs that attend college, obtain degrees, and go on to serve in their disciplines and contribute to their communities. Having been a FGCS, now serving as a tenure-track faculty member at a Historically Black institution, I have been compelled to explore and initiate a dialog regarding the experience of being, First, still. “It” does not end with degree completion.

Abstract
Purpose
Using data from Turkey, this paper seeks to investigate whether relative price changes can help to explain the Phillips Curve relationship between inflation and output.
Design/methodology/approach
Building on work by Ball and Mankiw, the paper includes measures of the variance and skews of relative price adjustment in an otherwise standard model of the Phillips Curve. It employs a bounds‐testing approach based on an ARDL model to establish long‐run relationships. It then uses error correction models to analyze short‐run dynamics.
Findings
No evidence was found for a long‐run relationship between inflation and output. However, a long‐run relationship is in fact found, once the variance and skew of relative price changes are included as regressors. The error correction model implies plausible short‐term dynamics in this case.
Originality/value
This paper combines two distinct literatures, on the Phillips Curve and on the distribution of relative price changes, showing that insights from the latter can be essential in constructing coherent models of the Philips Curve.

Design/methodology/approach
This paper introduces and annotates English-language periodical articles, monographs, dissertations and other materials on library instruction and IL published in 2015.
Findings
This paper provides information about each source, describes the characteristics of current scholarship and highlights sources that contain either unique or significant scholarly contributions.
Originality/value
The information may be used by librarians and interested parties as a quick reference to literature on library instruction and IL.

The Equal Pay Act 1970 (which came into operation on 29 December 1975) provides for an “equality clause” to be written into all contracts of employment. S.1(2) (a) of the 1970 Act (which has been amended by the Sex Discrimination Act 1975) provides:
