Abstract
Purpose
With the exponential growth of problems linked to the natural environment, healthcare facilities are increasingly faced with ecological challenges in their operations. In this regard, they progressively need to improve their environmental performance like other industries in recent years. Applying the natural-resource-based view (NRBV) and dynamic capabilities literature, the purpose of this paper is to investigate this eco-capability which fully leverages human, relationship, and technology resources.
Design/methodology/approach
Applying the NRBV and dynamic capabilities literature, this paper investigates this eco-capability which fully leverages human, relationship, and technology resources. Using survey data from staffs across 15 hospitals in north of Iran, researchers estimated a latent moderated structural model that provides support for these three resource components.
Findings
Results obtained from structural equation analysis revealed that human, technology, and relationship resources have positive impact on eco-capability. Also eco-capability has positive impact on market and financial performance and the perceived quality of the hospital’s offering.
Research limitations/implications
As the model consist just of three kinds of resources, future studies could include examining the effect of additional resources and other internal and external factors on eco-capability.
Practical implications
This paper includes suggestions for facility’s managers to develop environmental strategy in three areas: human, technology, and relationship resources.
Originality/value

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to present a review of topics, conceptual models and methodologies in research on Iranian school principals over the past four decades.
Design/methodology/approach
The study adopted a descriptive quantitative form of a systematic review of research to analyze topics, conceptual models and methodologies employed in 565 studies published by Iranian scholars in the national and international databases.
Findings
The content analysis of the studies revealed the increasing interest of the Iranian scholars in the two topical foci, namely, the school leadership models and principal profile, with a focus on the direct-effects (Model B) and the antecedent-effects (Model A). The evidence also suggests the disinclination of the researchers to study leadership concerning student learning outcomes. The most frequently used school leadership model in the Iranian schools has been transformational leadership, while the distributive/collaborative and instructional leadership studies were few. The scholars have mostly relied on a survey-based quantitative research approach, using correlation analysis techniques.
Practical implications
The findings suggest that despite the increasing global acceptance of school leadership, its implementation in practice is inevitably shaped by the institutional policies and cultural values of different societies.
Social implications
The findings of this study strengthen the supposition that the differences in school leadership across societies are influenced by various cultural and contextual factors.
Originality/value
This paper is the first systematic review of the empirical studies that present insight into topics, conceptual models and methodologies in research on school principals in Iran.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to study the fluid flow and heat transfer through a spiral double-pipe heat exchanger. Nowadays using spiral double-pipe heat exchangers has become popular in different industrial segments due to its complex and spiral structure, which causes an enhancement in heat transfer.
Design/methodology/approach
In these heat exchangers, by converting the fluid motion to the secondary motion, the heat transfer coefficient is greater than that of the straight double-pipe heat exchangers and cause increased heat transfer between fluids.
Findings
The present study, by using the Fluent software and nanofluid heat transfer simulation in a spiral double-tube heat exchanger, investigates the effects of operating parameters including fluid inlet velocity, volume fraction of nanoparticles, type of nanoparticles and fluid inlet temperature on heat transfer efficiency.
Originality/value
After presenting the results derived from the fluid numerical simulation and finding the optimal performance conditions using a genetic algorithm, it was found that water–Al2O3 and water–SiO2 nanofluids are the best choices for the Reynolds numbers ranging from 10,551 to 17,220 and 17,220 to 31,910, respectively.
