Abstract
Purpose
The changing workplace and the disruption and transformation of business processes brought on by modern technology make it difficult for a firm to maintain its existing plans. A management's ability to succeed is related to sustaining and developing its employees to be innovative workers. The idea is to empower subordinates and share authority with them, which increases efficiency.
Design/methodology/approach
In this study, it was anticipated that there is a definite relationship between leadership empowerment and workplace cultures of self-esteem, emotional intelligence and creative thinking. Data were obtained using random sample techniques to confirm the hypothesis. A total of 291 Pakistani private-sector employees were surveyed for this study.
Findings
There were positive and substantial links between empowered leadership and creativity, while emotional intelligence and organizational self-esteem have an inverse relationship. For psychological appeal and inventiveness at work, empowerment alone is sufficient. Intellectual stimulus or culture of excessively positive self-esteem may cause numerous limits at work. Hence, management should avoid situations where leaders are predisposed to developing empowering techniques.
Research limitations/implications
This study yields an additional understanding of organizational behavior literature. It was concluded from this study that empowering leaders should avoid using emotional intelligence when scaling up creative strategies. As an alternative, they should develop a culture of self-esteem through emotional intelligence.
Practical implications
Leaders may want to consider demographic values while developing empowerment strategies. It is not recommended to use emotional intelligence and empowerment simultaneously. As a result, this framework suggests a realistic and candid approach that is simple to implement.
Originality/value
Leaders make people aware of the ongoing importance of innovative processes to encourage staff to be creative. Successful leaders may use either empowering culture or leadership empowerment strategies for a more significant appeal. Self-esteem culture may provide a structure of interaction buffer against the other emotions that could counter disruption.

Purpose
From a lay theory standpoint, the authentic leadership journey has not been perceived together. Both theories are evaluated to determine what may be developed to reflect an authentic leadership journey on an individual's belief of commitment and performance in an organization by evaluating both theories.
Design/methodology/approach
Using simple random sampling, this research used a self-administered questionnaire prepared and distributed to higher education professionals in Islamabad. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) was used to compute the data and SmartPLS (partial least squares (PLS)) was used to determine the path analysis.
Findings
A human being's need for authenticity is real, but the perspective is more toward better performance. Authenticity does not mean a person can help businesses achieve every goal. Persons may choose what is essential to them, indicating the inner self-awareness of authentic individuals and allowing members to focus on what matters.
Originality/value
This study shed light on a new phenomenon that can help us better comprehend what means to be an authentic leader.

The need of intended framework from theoretical perspective, meta-analysis and situational analysis is presented in this paper. The discussion on a present study about the various aspects of individual perspective, strategic leadership and its link with organizational outcomes are hypothetically aligned in the framework.
Originality/value
Strategic change management is the process of managing change in an organization. Change is critical to measure existing structures in the thoughtful way. Mapping individual behavior change is a difficult task, and organizational goals, objectives and missions are an important element of the learning process. Through this framework, the authors attempt to reach the model.

It is beneficial to use strategic management to gain profound, long-term comprehension and learning in challenging topics such as change evaluation. Since the impact of COVID-19, norms changed, complexities developed and situational elements were identified that could be used to improve and manage operations. This change did not spare the tourism and hospitality industry; as a result, this industry is facing a crisis to recover from pandemics. Keeping this in mind, researchers struggle to investigate the phenomenon; quested advantages may be derived for rehabilitation. Strategic leadership perspective is one of them that can be used for more significant tourism industry benefits. Leaders are required to prepare strategies for developing technical abilities to increase the efficiency of their organisations. It must become necessary to have a strategic aim to change existing social and cultural values, religious standards and psychological attitudes under their vision. This chapter aims to apply the theory of change to manage the tourism and hospitality industry's recovery, focusing on strategic leadership's theoretical framework and strategic intent. The chapter includes a study of the literature to determine the effectiveness of strategic intent in the leadership of the tourism industry. In addition, this work debates about building a better and more comprehensive understanding of the factors that influence, contribute to and relate to strategic intention. Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to evaluate the therapeutic potential of apple extracts against thrombocytopenia, i.e. decrease in platelet count.
Design/methodology/approach
Male Sprague Dawley rats were used to evaluate therapeutic potential of apple extracts. Diets enriched with apple fruit and seed’s ethanolic extract were provided to normal and KBrO3-induced thrombocytopenic rats for 60 days. KBrO3 was administered at level of 85 mg/Kg of body weight of rats to intentionally decrease the platelet count. Platelet count and other hematological parameters were monitored at monthly intervals to evaluate therapeutic effect of apple extracts against thrombocytopenia.
Findings
The results of current research portrayed that both apple seed and fruit extracts enriched diets increased the platelet count significantly (p < 0.05) in thrombocytopenic rats. It was observed that apple fruit extract-enriched diet (AFE) raised the platelet count to 14.72 and 33.07 per cent in normal and thrombocytopenic rats, respectively. Apple seed extract-enriched diet (ASE) raised the platelet count to 11.08 and 32.90 per cent in normal and thrombocytopenic rats, respectively. Other hematological parameters including white blood cells, red blood cells and hemoglobin were also significantly increased.
Originality/value
Thrombocytopenia is uprising problem in developing world including India and Pakistan accompanied by different diseases especially dengue and related complications. Because of questioning on therapies against thrombocytopenia, research on diet-based therapies, as a substitute to synthetic one, is increasing. Diet rich in antioxidant compounds including apple fruit and seeds are the limelight of manuscript.

Abstract
What kinds of support do interstate rivals provide to domestic actors in ongoing civil wars? And how do domestic actors utilize the support they receive? This chapter answers these questions by comparing Iranian and Saudi military and non-military (mediation, foreign aid and religious soft-power promotion) support to the Houthis and to the Government of Yemen (GoY) during the Saada wars (2004–2010) and the internationalized civil war (2015–2018). It also focuses on the processes through which the GoY and the Houthis have utilized this support for their own strategic purposes. This chapter applies a structured, focused comparison methodology and relies on data from a review of both primary and secondary sources complemented by 14 interviews. This chapter finds that there were less external interventions in the conflict in Saada than in the internationalized civil war. During the latter, a broader set of intervention strategies enabled further instrumentalization by domestic actors, which in turn contributed to the protracted nature of the conflict. This chapter contributes to the literature on interstate rivalry and third-party intervention. The framework of analysis is applicable to civil wars that experience intervention by rivals, such as Syria or Libya.

Abstract
Pakistan's present war against extremists has many folds and sheds. The country's initial participation in the Afghan War in 1979 later gave birth to different extremist trends in the country. State patronage of the extremist Wahabi Islamists during the Afghan jihad opened another conflict in Pakistan, and things became more complicated. The combination of external and internal factors gave birth to the worst kind of conflict, which now has not only become dangerous for the country's own existence but also a major threat for global peace. The Afghan jihad initially started as a war against Soviet occupation and later became the hub of global jihad-war against infidels.
This chapter analyzes how external factors promoted internal contradictions in Pakistan due to which the country became not only an exporter of jihadis for the world but also the worst kind of sectarian conflicts, including. Shia–Sunni, Deobandi–Wahabi clashes, entered into in the past two decades. Such a strong link exists with Pakistan's official support to global jihad. Draft sectarian groups now head to head with their opponents have killed thousands of members of rival sectors, have strong support from external sympathizers, and have spread in the country. The well planned terrorist activities of these groups reflect the fact that support to these groups in the past is now leading to a severe crisis in Pakistan. The nexuses of these indigenous extremists like Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen with external terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan of Tahir Yuldasher Chechen Guerilla War has led to several bloody clashes in the country and outside.
