Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to propose a Web-based system for visualizing local politics in Japan. Although many local governments in Japan provide public access to political documents, researchers and scientists cannot take full advantage of them because they consist only of raw text. Therefore, there is a need for these to be converted into panel data and to visualize differences by region or over time. For ordinary citizens, visualizing differences between the topics discussed by assembly members can be useful in assessing their characteristics. The proposed system aims to provide a complete solution that meets all of these requirements.
Design/methodology/approach
The system has five main functions: full-text search for political documents, showing keywords in context, map and time-series visualization, cross-tabulation and political keyword extraction. Although three existing systems offer some of these functions, the proposed system integrates all the five necessary functions and provides a complete solution that meets all of the requirements.
Findings
The proposed system is demonstrated to be a complete solution for the requirements based on the comparisons with the existing systems and use cases.
Originality/value
The proposed system, which integrates all the five necessary functions and even adds a new cross-tabulation function, meets all the requirements and is a complete solution for researchers, scientists and ordinary citizens.

Abstract
Most years, several AIB members are elected as AIB Fellows on account of their excellent international business scholarship, and/or past service as AIB President or Executive Secretary. The Fellows are in charge of electing Eminent Scholars as well as the International Executive and International Educator (formerly, Dean) of the Year, who often provide the focus for Plenary Sessions at AIB Conferences. Their history since 1975 covers over half of the span of the AIB and reflects many issues that dominated that period in terms of research themes, progresses and problems, the internationalization of business education and the role of international business in society and around the globe. Like other organizations, the Fellows Group had their ups and downs, successes and failures – and some fun too!

Abstract
In the vision of pervasive computing, numerous heterogeneous devices, various information services, and users performing daily activities are physically co‐located in a environment. How can we coordinate the services and devices to assist a particular user in receiving a particular service so as to maximize the user’s satisfaction? To solve this human‐centered coordination issue, we propose an agent‐based service coordination framework for pervasive computing. It is called location‐aware middle agent framework. The middle agent takes account of the user location in cognitive way (based on location‐ontology), and determines best‐matched services for the user. Based on this coordination framework, we have developed a multi‐agent architecture for pervasive computing, called CONSORTS (Coordination System of Real‐world Transaction Services). In this paper, we first outline some requirements of the human‐centered service coordination in pervasive computing. Secondly, we describe location‐aware middle agent framework to fill the requirements. Lastly, we outline CONSORTS, an prototype of location‐aware middle agent framework, and two applications of CONSORTS, location‐aware information assistance services in a museum and wireless‐LAN based location systems on FIPA agent Networks.

Abstract
This chapter complements the one that appeared as “History of the AIB Fellows: 1975–2008” in Volume 14 of this series (International Business Scholarship: AIB Fellows on the First 50 Years and Beyond, Jean J. Boddewyn, Editor). It traces what happened under the deanship of Alan Rugman (2011–2014) who took many initiatives reported here while his death in July 2014 generated trenchant, funny, and loving comments from more than half of the AIB Fellows. The lives and contributions of many other major international business scholars who passed away from 2008 to 2014 are also evoked here: Endel Kolde, Lee Nehrt, Howard Perlmutter, Stefan Robock, John Ryans, Vern Terpstra, and Daniel Van Den Bulcke.

Abstract
A new treatment method for the copper innerlayers of polyimide multilayer printed wiring boards has been developed. Conventional oxide coatings experience acid penetration through the bonding interface during through‐hole plating pretreatment. This problem was eliminated by substitution of metallic copper for the surface oxide. Promotion of the copper innerlayer adhesion to the prepreg by the oxide coating was based upon a mechanical interlocking effect caused by the minute roughness of the oxide crystals. Reduction treatment of the surface oxide layer was found to give a metallic copper surface with no changes in its morphology. Adhesion strength of polyimide prepregs to copper foils after the reduction treatment was equivalent to that of the original brown oxide coating. Acid resistance was enhanced by elimination of the oxide layer from the bonding interface. The reduction treatment, combined with the conventional oxide coating technique, can realise high density multilayer printed wiring boards with greater reliability and performance.

Abstract
Purpose
Penetrator plays an important role in the exploration of Moon and Mars. The navigation method is a key technology during the development of penetrator. To meet the high accuracy requirements of Moon penetrator, this paper aims to propose two kinds of navigation systems.
Design/methodology/approach
The line of sight of vision sensor between the penetrator and Moon orbiter could be utilized as the measurement during the navigation system design. However, the analysis of observability shows that the navigation system cannot estimate the position and velocity of penetrator, when the line of sight measurement is the only resource of information. Therefore, the Doppler measurement due to the relative motion between penetrator and the orbiter is used as the supplement. The other option is the relative range measurement between penetrator and the orbiter. The sigma-point Kalman Filtering is implemented to fuse the information from the vision sensor and Doppler or rangefinder. The observability of two navigation system is analyzed.
Findings
The sigma-point Kalman filtering could be used based on vision sensor and Doppler radar or laser rangefinder to give an accurate estimation of Moon penetrator position and velocity without increasing the payload of Moon penetrator or decreasing the estimation accuracy. However, the simulation result shows that the last method is better. The observability analysis also proves this conclusion.
Practical implications
Two navigation systems are proposed, and the simulations show that both systems can provide accurate estimation of states of penetrator.
Originality/value
Two navigation methods are proposed, and the observability of these navigation systems is analyzed. The sigma-point Kalman filtering is first introduced to the vision-based navigation system for Moon penetrator to provide precision navigation during the descent phase of Moon penetrator.
