Abstract
Purpose
Hospital governance accountability structures in Iran, similar to other countries, have undergone various reforms with different goals. The current study aimed to identify the rules and regulations of the hospital governance structure in Iran and how they pay attention to accountability.
Design/methodology/approach
This qualitative document content analysis study was conducted using hospital governance structure documents in Iran using the Ready materials, Extract data, Analyze data and Distil (READ) document analysis framework. 2,921 documents were extracted from the official government websites of Iran. After screening, seven documents related to the hospital governance structure were selected. A directed content analysis approach was used. The findings were finally future purification matched with the original documents.
Findings
The findings showed that documents had not addressed the inclusive governance structure of the hospital comprehensively. The medical staff organization structure is not considered in the documents, and its duties are assigned to a technical or a clinical director. Most documents addressed financial accountability. The documents did not require the hospital’s governance to have an inclusive accountability structure. However, they paid more attention to the administrative and financial autonomy of hospitals.
Practical implications
Accountability is one of the most essential components in the hospital's governance structure. It can increase the success of hospital efficiency, effectiveness, vision and mission fulfillment. The study result can help health services policymakers and managers formulate better organization structure rules and regulations for hospital governance accountability.
Originality/value
This study is the first qualitative analysis of accountable governance structure documents in Iranian hospitals. We used the READ method as a comprehensive approach for document analysis.

The contemporary landscape of supply chains necessitates a comprehensive integration of multiple components encompassing production, distribution and customer engagement. The pursuit of supply chain harmony underscores the significance of pricing strategies within the framework of dual-channel distribution, particularly when confronted with the dynamics of asymmetric demand performance.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper delves into a nuanced decision-making challenge anchored in a dual-channel distribution context featuring a retailer and two distinct products. Notably, the retailer’s decision-making process employs the computational framework of dual grey numbers, a robust tool for handling uncertainty.
Findings
This study revolves around applying game theory to manufacturers. Each manufacturer presents its aggregated price proposition to the retailer. Subsequently, the retailer identifies the optimal pricing configuration among the manufacturers' aggregate prices while adhering to constraints such as spatial classification and inventory costs. This article’s contribution extends to delineating the retailer’s capacity to discern the influence of product market potential and the aggregate product cost on the overall demand.
Originality/value
The model’s innovation lies in its harmonious fusion of spatial classification, pricing strategies and inventory control. Notably, this novel integration provides a platform for unraveling the intricate interplay between non-symmetric market potential, production costs and cross-sensitivity. The investigation is underscored by the utilization of the double interval grey numbers, a powerful computational approach that accommodates the inherent uncertainty pervasive in the domain. This study fills a gap in the existing literature by offering an integrated framework unifying spatial allocation, pricing decisions and inventory optimization.

Abstract
Purpose
Although the previous generations of the Industrial Revolution have brought many advantages to human life, scientists have been looking for a substantial breakthrough in creating technologies that can improve the quality of human life. Nowadays, we can make our factories smarter using new concepts and tools like real-time self-optimization. This study aims to take a step towards implementing key features of smart manufacturing including preventive self-maintenance, self-scheduling and real-time decision-making.
Design/methodology/approach
A new bi-objective mathematical model based on Industry 4.0 to schedule received customer orders, which minimizes both the total earliness and tardiness of orders and the probability of machine failure in smart manufacturing, was presented. Moreover, four meta-heuristics, namely, the multi-objective Archimedes optimization algorithm (MOAOA), NSGA-III, multi-objective simulated annealing (MOSA) and hybrid multi-objective Archimedes optimization algorithm and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-III (HMOAOANSGA-III) were implemented to solve the problem. To compare the performance of meta-heuristics, some examples and metrics were presumed and solved by using the algorithms, and the performance and validation of meta-heuristics were analyzed.
Findings
The results of the procedure and a mathematical model based on Industry 4.0 policies showed that a machine performed the self-optimizing process of production scheduling and followed a preventive self-maintenance policy in real-time situations. The results of TOPSIS showed that the performances of the HMOAOANSGA-III were better in most problems. Moreover, the performance of the MOSA outweighed the performance of the MOAOA, NSGA-III and HMOAOANSGA-III if we only considered the computational times of algorithms. However, the convergence of solutions associated with the MOAOA and HMOAOANSGA-III was better than those of the NSGA-III and MOSA.
Originality/value
In this study, a scheduling model considering a kind of Industry 4.0 policy was defined, and a novel approach was presented, thereby performing the preventive self-maintenance and self-scheduling by every single machine. This new approach was introduced to integrate the order scheduling system using a real-time decision-making method. A new multi-objective meta-heuristic algorithm, namely, HMOAOANSGA-III, was proposed. Moreover, the crowding-distance-quality-based approach was presented to identify the best solution from the frontier, and in addition to improving the crowding-distance approach, the quality of the solutions was also considered.
