This study aims to assess the knowledge and attitudes of 420 nurses toward caring for older people in primary health-care centers in the southern region of Jordan.

Data collected through an electronic survey was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0.

The findings revealed that 91.0% of nurses had limited knowledge, with only 7.1% demonstrating average knowledge and 1.9% showing good knowledge about older people care. Furthermore, 85.2% of participants held neutral attitudes toward aged care, while 12.4% had positive attitudes and 2.4% exhibited negative attitudes. A significant correlation was observed between knowledge and attitude scores (p-value = 0.000). Gender and marital status were found to influence attitudes, with significant statistical relationships (p-values: gender = 0.000, marital status = 0.004). These results emphasize the importance of improving nursing education in geriatric care and promoting positive attitudes toward caring for older people patients.

The study highlights the need for ongoing professional development to enhance patient outcomes and the quality of care for the older people population. Further longitudinal research and comparative analyses are recommended to deepen the understanding of knowledge and attitudes across various health-care settings.

The study revealed a significant correlation between nursing practitioners’ knowledge and attitudes toward geriatric care, with gender and marital status significantly influencing attitudes, while age did not. This underscores the need for further research.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the structure and dynamics of academic articles relating to public procurement (PP) in the period 1984–2022 (up to May). The researchers also intend to analyse how this knowledge domain has grown since 1984.

A bibliometric analysis was carried out to examine the existing state of PP research. Based on 640 journal articles indexed in the Scopus database and written by 1,247 authors over nearly four decades, a bibliometric analysis was conducted to reveal the intellectual structure of academic works pertaining to PP.

Findings reveal that PP research from Scopus has significantly increased in the past decade. Major journals publishing PP research are International Journal of Procurement Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management and Public Money and Management. Results also indicate that authors’ cooperation network is fragmented, showing limited collaboration among PP researchers. In addition, results suggest that the institutional collaboration network in PP research mirrors what is commonly referred to as the North–South divide, signifying insufficient research collaboration between developed and developing countries’ institutions. According to the co-occurrence keyword network and topic modelling, PP revolves around five main themes, including innovation, corruption, sustainable and green PP, PP contracts and small and medium enterprises. Based on these results, several directions for future research are suggested.

This paper provides an increased understanding of the entire PP field and the potential research directions.

To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first-ever application of bibliometric techniques and topic modelling to examine the development of PP research since 1984 based on scholarly publications extracted from the Scopus database.

The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview that demonstrates the prevention role of dietary fiber in type2 diabetes. Due to the frequent incidences of type2 diabetes and its related complications, a small percentage of reduction in the cases could save thousands of lives and economic loss spending on healthcare and medication.

A literature review has been performed over the electronic databases Medline PubMed and SciELO (The Scientific Electronic Library Online). The reference list of identified articles has also been reviewed. For this search, the following descriptors were considered: diabetes mellitus, hyperglycemia, diet therapy, dietary fiber and insulin sensitivity.

The updated publications indicated that valuable efforts have been done to clarify the beneficial effect of dietary fiber consumption on type2 diabetes. Dietary fiber plays a role as a promising alternative therapeutic means toward type2 diabetes mellitus prevention.

This review is unique in its comprehensive nature. This paper will reflect the role and mechanism of dietary fiber in the prevention of type2 diabetes.
