Abstract
This chapter begins by exploring the critical tenets of strategic human resource management (SHRM) and then discusses what the study and practice of SHRM needs to do in a new era of sharing economy and artificial intelligence (AI) for delivering successful business and individual employee performance in a new world of technological disruptions in work and employment. Using examples from popular platforms such as Airbnb, Uber, Ola, Zomato and Swiggy in India, to name a few, this chapter illustrates the changing ways of how non-standard employees are managed in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) through the use of technology platforms and apps, including the specific use of AI, in implementing a number of these changes. We highlight the need for new skills and knowledge by HR professionals to successfully engage in the new and brave world of AI-based technological disruption that we are all facing.

Abstract
Introduction: Artificial intelligence (AI) is being extensively used to solve complex problems in the industry. AI provides several benefits such as providing visibility in the processes, reducing time, improving accuracy, saving time, helping in the decision-making process, etc. Due to the range of benefits of AI technologies, organisations readily adopt this technology. However, there are several challenges that the organisation faces during the implementation of AI. These challenges are in context to human resource (HR) development for successful implementation of AI across different functions and are discussed in this chapter.
Purpose: Although we know that AI technology is widely accepted in human resource management (HRM) due to its various benefits. But the organisations face many challenges during the implementation of AI. The focus of the study is to explore the literature on AI in HRM, identify the challenges of implementing AI and provide potential future research direction based on a systematic literature review.
Methodology: To explore the literature on AI in HRM, the study undertakes a systematic literature review. The study identifies, analyse and classifies the literature to provide a holistic view of HR challenges in implementing AI. The study is built on a review of 47 documents, including the articles, book chapters and conference papers using the Scopus database for the past 10 years (2012–27 January 2022).
Findings: The study provides an overview of the documents published in Scopus in this area through a systematic literature review. The study reveals that a significant amount of growth in the publication has been shown in the past 10 years. The maximum and continuous growth is shown after 2017. The maximum number of papers are published in India, the USA and China. The study identifies major eight challenges of AI implementation in HRM. The study also provides a secondary case to deep dive in this area based on a systematic literature review.
Research Limitation/Implication: The challenges identified in the study are not empirically tested. Each of the identified challenges should be empirically examined. This study has expanded the body of knowledge of AI in HRM. This study will help the academicians and practitioners work on the identified challenges and help the organisations ease in adopting AI.
Originality/Value: This study represents the first work that integrates AI implementation challenges in HRM.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the protection efficiency of a thin film of electrochemically synthesized conducting polymers, such as poly m‐toluidine, poly N‐methyl aniline, and its copolymer, poly (aniline‐co‐N‐methyl aniline) (PANINMA), on plain carbon steel in 0.1 M HCl. It also attempts to compare the protection efficiency of these compounds with polyaniline (PANI)‐coated carbon steel.
Design/methodology/approach
The green coloured and adherent coatings were obtained by cyclic voltammetry during sequential scanning of the potential region between −0.6 and 1.6 V at a scan rate of 10 mVs−1. Potentiodynamic polarization measurement (DC) was used to obtain an estimate of the corrosion rate and protection efficiency for these electrodeposited polymers on the carbon steel. Scanning electron micrographs (SEM) also were obtained to characterize the deposited coatings.
Findings
It was observed that these polymer coatings showed better protection efficiency than the PANI coating. Of the compounds studied, the copolymer PANINMA coating showed higher protection efficiency than other coatings. The SEM observations revealed that the compact continuous dense morphology of PANINMA provided better protection than other coatings.
Originality/value
This paper explains the protection efficiency of the substituted and copolymer coatings of PANI on carbon steel.

This paper tries to retrospect the mounting application of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) in the human resource management area. The document applies bibliometric analysis and uses relational techniques to explore dimensions of documents in the field. The results highlight publication trends, most impactful authors, countries and institutes in the research area. The science mapping along with co-citation and bibliometric coupling analysis revealed major developments in the field. The thematic mapping and trend analysis highlighted the past and emerging trends towards significant and impactful research in the areas of robotics, big data, AI and data analytics. This paper sets the base for future researchers by coordinating and combining various past researches to help in understanding the evolution of ML and AI in human resource management and expansion of knowledgebase.

Introduction: Artificial intelligence (AI) has now become an integral part of every aspect of the corporate sector. AI may be a massive branch of computing connected to building devices smart enough and capable of performing tasks that usually require human intelligence. Integrating AI with human resources (HR) practices will improve organisations, as these applications can analyse, predict, and diagnose to support HR teams for taking better decisions.
Purpose: This chapter throws light upon the current scenario of awareness of AI and machine learning (ML) and their impact on the industry of HR. This chapter tries to describe the usage of AI in our current world and the impact of AI in the field of HRM in organisations.
Methodology: The true possibility of AI and ML in HRM has been analysed with the help of pie charts, bar charts, and histograms with the segmenting of results and interpretations. Various frequently asked questions have been answered, and a sample population has also been surveyed on their viewpoints regarding specific areas.
Findings: This chapter concludes that HR experts see the best potential in analytics, attendance, recruitment, attendance management, and compensation/payroll. AI will significantly diversify the HR sector. HR professionals need to think outside of their function.

Abstract
Purpose
Effects of corrosion are very dire and mitigation of corrosion holds prime importance. Protective coatings play major role in preventing corrosion of metals and coating application is the most convenient, economical and quick solution. The purpose of the study is development of protective coatings to effectively mitigate corrosion of metal components.
Design/methodology/approach
A high-performance anticorrosion coating was prepared using multiple monomers and paste of functional and reinforcing fillers with extenders to protect metal components from corrosion in aggressive environmental conditions. The structures of copolymers synthesized with multiple monomers were studied by the NMR and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. The percentage conversion of different proportions of various monomers was estimated using gas chromatography technique. The functional paste to impart superior anticorrosion properties was prepared using various functional and reinforcing fillers. The final coatings were prepared by mixing these resins with functional paste in various proportions.
Findings
The prepared anticorrosion coating was tested for high-performance mechanical and chemical properties and it was witnessed that the said coating offered desired performance properties needed for protecting metal components from corrosion.
Research limitations/implications
As such it is overcoming drawbacks of two pack systems and thus has almost no limitations or implications for application on metal substrate.
Practical implications
Being formulated as a single pack, it is free from drawbacks otherwise involved in two pack system of conventional paints. The coating system developed is very easy to apply using conventional tools, namely, brush, spray and roller techniques. The formulation is made in such a way that it has fast-drying properties. Makes painting or coating operations cost effective and confirm the performance.
Social implications
The findings of the research have anticorrosion nature that can enhance the life span of the substrates. It is specially designed for metal substrate and can protect metal substrate from corrosion in most aggressive conditions. Thus, it helps to reduce losses due corrosion and increase safety of metal structures and human being as well. As it is based on conventional material but with new formulation and technology, it has commercial possibilities to explore.
Originality/value
Unlike conventional protective coating systems, the said coating offered disruptive features like single pack systems and fast drying at ambient temperature along with high-performance properties. The coating formulation was observed to have a great importance in industry for effective corrosion mitigation and to reduce losses due to corrosion.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to compare the inhibitive effect of polyaniline (PAni) and N-cetyl-N,N,N trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB)-stabilized PAni in a hydrochloric acid (HCl) medium.
Design/methodology/approach
PAni has been deposited potentiodynamically on mild steel in the presence of CTAB as a stabilizing agent to achieve high corrosion inhibition performance by the polymer deposition. The corrosion inhibition studies of CTAB-stabilized PAni inhibitor in 0.1 M HCl acidic solution was carried out by electrochemical methods, namely, open-circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique.
Findings
The results of electrochemical studies have shown that the CTAB-stabilized PAni inhibitor has higher corrosion efficiency than PAni on mild steel in 0.1 M HCl solution. The maximum per cent efficiency evaluated using the potentiodynamic polarization method is approximately 91.9.
Originality/value
CTAB-stabilized PAni has never been studied as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in an acidic medium. The investigations demonstrate relatively the better corrosion inhibition efficiency and high dispersion of the polymer in the acidic medium.
