Abstract
In the last four years, since Volume I of this Bibliography first appeared, there has been an explosion of literature in all the main functional areas of business. This wealth of material poses problems for the researcher in management studies — and, of course, for the librarian: uncovering what has been written in any one area is not an easy task. This volume aims to help the librarian and the researcher overcome some of the immediate problems of identification of material. It is an annotated bibliography of management, drawing on the wide variety of literature produced by MCB University Press. Over the last four years, MCB University Press has produced an extensive range of books and serial publications covering most of the established and many of the developing areas of management. This volume, in conjunction with Volume I, provides a guide to all the material published so far.

Abstract
I. INTRODUCTION In this monograph we point out and analyse various dimensions of bargaining structure, which we define broadly as the institutional configuration within which bargaining takes place, and attempt to provide some guidelines for management action. We look at the development, theory, and present framework of bargaining structure in Britain and then examine it in terms of choices: multi‐employer versus single employer, company versus plant level bargaining, and the various public policy issues involved.

Abstract
Programmed learning and teaching machines have been classified traditionally as linear or branching. In the light of recent developments this division is no longer adequate, but it still forms a useful starting point. Techniques will be classified here as linear, branching, and ‘later’, but before considering them separately their common factors should be emphasised.

Abstract
Any attempt to survey the language laboratory field is bound to overlap the excellent three‐part article by Mr H. Friedmann 18 months ago. The justification for doing so is the development that has taken place, particularly in relation to miniature and unit laboratories, and the fact that this article is concerned with equipment available, and only indirectly with teaching requirements.

Abstract
Is the price war in grocery a crisis which will eventually be overcome so that the grocery trade may revert to its previous state of higher margins and comfortable trading? The authors of this special feature argue that this is not the case; they see the price war as a symptom of more fundamental change inherent in the trade. What of the future? Growth will continue to be led by multiples and larger co‐ops, and this is likely to put significant pressure on the multiple sector itself. Large store operation will ensure the continuation of price competition, and there will be no competition between superstores at a local level. Moves into non‐grocery lines will continue. And there will, inevitably, be casualties. But there may be more fundamental changes. With the widening of the product mix into non‐food, some grocery operators might find themselves in the role of department store and variety chain. And there will very probably be more of the convenience 7–11 type store with its combination of basic grocery lines with CTN and toiletries.

Abstract
Building on the introduction to positive psychology and positive education in Chapter 1, the aim of Chapter 3 is to focus on wellbeing and positive education in secondary schools. This includes an overview of approaches to intervening in mental health (‘traditional’ and those which draw on the principles of positive psychology) that have been used in schools, and the factors that can influence their outcomes. When and how to apply interventions across three levels: the system, the community, and the individual, are also explored, alongside four different approaches: whole school, whole class, small group, and one-to-one. The chapter draws on up-to-date research and practical experience in secondary school settings, and includes a case study of Positive Psychology in Practice, based on the delivery (by the author) of a multi-component PPI (mPPI) – The Hummingbird Project, which has now been delivered to approximately 4,000 students in 24 secondary schools across the North West of England. The effectiveness of the mPPI, key lessons learned and insights gained are shared, including how to overcome the challenges of working in a culture not conducive to positive education.

Abstract
Concentration in food retailing has swung the balance of power away from food manufacturers. This not only affects margins, it also affects product ingredients. Retailers are employing increasing numbers of qualified food scientists and technologists to develop high quality own label products which can be used as a competitive weapon to gain market share. This has serious implications for branded products. A history of the campaign to remove contentious food additives is presented and retailers′ and manufacturers′ responses are reported as a cautionary tale for those who try to resist rather than respond to consumer concern.

I wish to dispose of an Antiquarian size drawing board with set‐square, for which I have no further use. The board is in good condition, has, of course, pin‐holes, and would be of great use to architects or engineers, whether practising or studying.
