Abstract
Aimed at senior corporate real estate decision makers and members of the corporate finance teams responsible for real estate portfolio strategy, this paper helps these professionals to identify opportunities for different types of lease finance. Readers will go through a brief history of the sale‐leaseback market and learn the factors which determine sale‐leaseback pricing. In addition, they will ascertain how recent changes in the debt markets impact their rental rates, as well as how changes in the equity markets have added a new supply of funds and lowered finance costs. Tenants will obtain a better understanding of the concerns, interests and motivations from a lessor’s perspective, as well as the factors they should consider when deciding whether to own or lease their real estate. This understanding of the lessor should enhance the corporate professional’s negotiating skills. Overall, the contents of this paper should help improve communication between the corporate finance team and the corporate real estate team as each understands better the other’s concerns and perspective on real estate.

Abstract
School-wide positive behavior support (PBS) is a systems approach to prevention and intervention involving multiple levels of support. At the universal level (all students), prevention of behavior problems involves four very basic steps that are repeated with smaller numbers of students and greater intensity as directed by data. The first step is the prediction of problems or failures. To the extent to which we can predict a problem by time, location, student, and other contexts, we have the information to prevent. Prediction leads directly into the second step, which involves the development of effective prevention practices. The key to effective prevention is to approach all problems from an instructional perspective by considering what needs to be taught and how the environment can be arranged to increase the probability of success. The third step involves creating consistency with prevention efforts. Instructional efforts that are inconsistent are not effective in teaching new behavior. The last step involves development of the simplest way of monitoring performance so that those students who are not responding (i.e., are falling through the screen) may be quickly identified. This chapter describes the key features of effective universal systems as they are specifically related to the prevention of behavior problems and provides an overview of how such systems are developed, implemented, and sustained.

Abstract
In 2017, 22% of the Canadian population are foreign-born immigrants and one in five is a visible racial minority. Canadian schools and classrooms mirror the diversity of the society and are populated with more and more immigrant and refugee students from diverse ethnic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds each year. Uprooted from their home countries and familiar environments, immigrant and refugee students experience barriers and challenges in new living and educational environments. The increasing number of immigrant and refugee students and their unique educational needs and challenges have called building welcoming and inclusive schools a priority in Canadian education system. This chapter addresses the urgent need for high-impact policies, practices and praxis to build welcoming and inclusive schools for immigrant and refugee students through cross-sector community engagement. Based on several empirical studies, critical and extensive literature review and authors’ professional reflections, this chapter introduces a theoretical framework of building welcoming and inclusive schools for immigrant and refugee students and introduces the promising strategies of engaging community stakeholders, including educators, students, parents, governments and community organizations and agencies.

This chapter explores the potential for and value of imagining a humanist paradigm for tourism studies. It explores how the idea of a “paradigm” in tourism can be conceptualized, arguing that dominant thoughtlines in other fields regarding the meaning of a paradigm are not sufficient for making sense of this idea in the context of tourism studies. The chapter introduces humanism as a philosophical position in the academy and as a lived cultural practice, explores examples of extant work in tourism studies that might be seen to provide the seeds of a humanist paradigm, and offers reflections on the value of imagining such a paradigm for our field.

Kimbel Library used a peer reference model of service beginning in 2009 that was successful for several years but eventually phased out due to shifting priorities and needs. This article aims to describe Kimbel Library's second attempt at creating and using a peer reference program in 2018, how it was different from the original approach, and what ultimately happened.
Design/methodology/approach
In this article Reference Services Review Co-editor Sarah Barbara Watstein interviews Allison Faix, Instruction Coordinator and Librarian at Coastal Carolina University, about her experiences with peer reference services.
Findings
Because of the marked decline in the number of research-based questions asked at the library's help desk, the library found itself with smart, well-trained peer research assistants who were disappointed that their research assistance was not in greater demand.
Originality/value
This interview looks at two different ways that peer reference was implemented at the same institution starting in 2009.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to address two questions: Can student teachers use variation theory to design and review lessons? Can exposure to variation in designs for lessons with the same intended object of learning develop student teachers understanding of design?
Design/methodology/approach
The student teachers were undertaking an English‐medium education degree, a feature of which was peer teaching, with the teachers collaborating planning, teaching and reflecting on lessons. A sample of individual student teachers’ written reflections on the design and effect of 15 lessons involving seven objects of learning was collected and analysed using a comparative method. The lesson designs in terms of the pattern of variation and critical aspects afforded, and the teachers’ evaluations of the lessons, are described.
Findings
Four critical cases show how variation in the enacted object of learning created by the student teachers in their lessons, and in the lived object of learning of their students, impacted on the lived object of learning to teach of those student teachers. In the design and enactment of their lessons, student teachers used variation to effect in ten out of 15 lessons taught.
Originality/value
The use of the variation framework appeared to be successful in varying what had previously been invariant for many student teachers, who had themselves been educated in teacher‐centric classrooms. Its use offered a systematic, evidence‐based approach to designing, teaching and reviewing lessons, and, therefore, an opportunity to integrate the roles of teacher and learner in pursuit of the object of learning. By specifying the variation framework as a design tool, and not a method of teaching, the opportunity is opened up for further critical investigation of its usefulness in initial teacher education.

Purpose
The purpose of this research is to bring upfront some unconventional attributes of inflationary expectations of entrepreneurs. Firm-level attributes are instrumental in shaping the behavior of entrepreneurs, which affect the way in which they form their expectations regarding some key economic variables, like inflation. Inflationary expectations are considered important based on their significant role in affecting decisions taken by individuals, firms and policy makers. Among all economic segments, it is vital to account the inflationary expectations of entrepreneurs representing firms because their decisions critically define the future path of actual inflation and inflation inertia. This basic purpose of this paper is to offer a deterministic framework for these expectations contingent upon the firm-level attributes.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper provides survey-based evidence on inflationary expectations of entrepreneurs of the selected manufacturing, trading and service sector firms from Pakistan. Additionally, the study has focused on identifying some firm-level attributes, including market experience of the firm, scale of production, myopia in price setting behavior, forward and backward-looking behavior, rationality of the entrepreneur and the entrepreneur's relative firm-level experience as determinants of these expectations. The specified variables are constructed based on responses captured through a structured questionnaire.
Findings
Within an ordinal logistic framework, the study finds that the said attributes including market experience of the firm, scale of production, myopic tendency of entrepreneur in price setting, forward and backward-looking behavior, rationality of the entrepreneur and the entrepreneur's relative firm-level experience play a pivotal role in explaining differentials and heterogeneity in reported level of inflationary expectations.
Originality/value
The study brings upfront some unconventional attributes of inflationary expectations at entrepreneurial level. The work is unique in a sense that it provokes researchers to account behavioral and individualistic attributes within a deterministic framework for inflationary expectations.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to elaborate upon the notion of counter accounting, to assess the potentiality of online reports for counter accounting and hence for counter accounting's emancipatory potential as online reporting, to assess the extent to which this potential is being realised and to suggest ways forward from a critical perspective.
Design/methodology/approach
There are several components to a critical interpretive analysis: critical evaluative analysis, informed to some extent by prior literature in diverse fields; web survey; questionnaire survey; case study.
Findings
Web‐based counter accounting may be understood as having emancipatory potential, some of which is being realised in practice. Not all the positive potential is, however, being realised as one might hope: things that might properly be done are not always being done. And there are threats to progress in the future.
Originality/value
Clarification of a notion of counter accounting incorporating the activity of groups such as pressure groups and NGOs; rare study into practices and opinions in this context through a critical evaluative lens.
