Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the structure and dimensions of experiential quality in the context of Indonesian Bank 4.0. Moreover, this study also explains the process of how experiential quality generates customer loyalty (CL) by testing the mediation role of both customer trust (CT) and customer engagement (CE).
Design/methodology/approach
Two sequential smaller studies were conducted to answer the proposed research objectives. The first study was an exploratory study involving two series of focus group discussions and a survey with a self-administered questionnaire. The second study was an explanatory study. Similar to the first study, a self-administered questionnaire was employed to collect the data. A total of 410 participants participated in this study for both the first and second study. Exploratory factor analysis was used to analyse the data in the first study, while Partial Least Squares was employed to test the relationship amongst variables in the second study.
Findings
This study found that Bank 4.0 experiential quality is a multidimensional construct with access reliability (AR), digital interaction (DI) and security (SC) as the primary dimensions. In addition, this study suggested that Bank 4.0 experiential quality is proven to indirectly affect CL through a serial mediation process. In the serial mediation process, this study found that CT and CE are robust mediator variables.
Originality/value
This study revealed that Bank 4.0 experiential quality is a multidimensional construct with three primary dimensions: AR, DI and SC. This finding proves that the bank 4.0 experiential quality dimension is different from the conventional banking experiential quality. In addition, this study showed the process of how Bank 4.0 experiential quality is transformed into CL. In addition, this current research discovered that CE and CT serially mediated the impact of bank 4.0 experiential quality on CL that has not been explored by the previous research in the banking industry.

Abstract
Purpose
The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of transglobal leadership and organizational culture on job performance with inter-employee trust as a moderating variable in Pusat Pelaporan dan Analisis Transaksi Keuangan (PPATK) Indonesia.
Design/methodology/approach
The population was 308 staff members of PPATK, which consists of regular and temporary employees; all of them have different backgrounds. Temporary employees are from the Ministry of Finance, General Attorney, Police Department, Bank of Indonesia, Ministry of Communication and Information and BSSN and National Bureau of Statistics. PPATK also hires some employees based on employment contracts, for example: receptionists, security, drivers, cleaning services and technicians. This group of employees did not participate as respondents in this study because they were not involved in financial transaction reports or analysis.
Findings
Leadership style and organizational culture influence job performance. Inter-employee trust is moderating the influence of transglobal leadership and organizational culture toward job performance.
Originality/value
In organizations, the implementation of culture on methods for developing behavior, which means organizational culture, will affect the behavior of individuals who work in the organization. Synergy between individuals and organizational culture will improve job performance, because the goals of organizational culture are applied in a transglobal context, likely to produce positive performance and organizational development outcomes. Facilitate the vision and mission of the organization and one of them is developing human resource competencies.

Abstract
Entrepreneurship has an important role in the economic development of a country. One element that represents the entrepreneurship quality is its orientation. The orientation of entrepreneurship includes several dimensions which are needed for achievement, an internal locus of control, self-reliance, extroversion, being proactive, risk-taking, and innovation. These dimensions are believed to be able to improve the company’s performance. The purpose of this study is to find out how the entrepreneurship orientation influences the firm performance. This study aims to discover which dimensions of entrepreneurship orientation are the most influential toward the firm performance. The samples were comprised 40 entrepreneurs. The primary data were collected from the respondents by distributing questionnaires to the entrepreneurs of food firms in Salatiga, Indonesia. A multiple regression analysis method was applied in this study. The results show that among the dimensions in entrepreneurship orientation, only the risk-taking and innovative dimensions influence the company’s performance. Innovativeness has a higher effect on firm performance.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to develop a model of the Muslim community’s behaviour in paying zakat to contribute ideas on how to increase zakat recipients nationally, so as to improve the welfare of the wider community.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a quantitative (i.e. multiple regression analysis that involves moderating variables) and descriptive approach. Multiple regression analysis with the stepwise method is implemented to get the best regression model of community’s behaviour in paying zakat. This study takes a sample of Muslim communities in several regions (northern coast) of Central Java, Indonesia.
Findings
In the situation of the absence of government regulations relating to the obligation to pay zakat for Muslim communities, the community’s behaviour in paying zakat can be formed through two things, which are: increasing the zakat understanding and strengthening the credibility of zakat management institutions. Providing complete information to the community regarding the existence and what has been done and what will be done by the zakat management institution is very necessary.
Research limitations/implications
This study has not specifically discussed the various types of zakat paid, such as commercial zakat, agricultural zakat and professional zakat. Therefore, future research can be done more specifically to determine the behaviour of paying zakat based on the type of zakat as stated.
Practical implications
Increasing the target of collecting zakat funds from the community nationally needs: (i) educating the community about zakat more broadly and sustainably; (ii) strengthening the credibility of the zakat management institution; and (iii) strengthening the flow of information from the zakat management institution to the community.
Originality/value
Research on community’s behaviour in paying zakat has never been done before. This study analyses the behaviour of paying zakat comprehensively, namely, in terms of adherence to God and the government, awareness without coercion and the behaviour of choosing a place to pay zakat.

Abstract
Purpose
Literature survey shows that it is not clear how knowledge management capability (KMC) and ambidexterity capability affect entrepreneurial creativity (EC) and entrepreneurial intensity (EI) promotion. While empirical studies have emphasized the importance of these factors in improving business performance, the cumulative effect and self-reinforcing loops of these factors in improving firm performance have not been identified. In this regard, the study seeks to investigate how to increase the entrepreneurial capabilities of KMC, EI, EC and ambidexterity of food firms to improve their performance.
Design/methodology/approach
The method of the present study is applied in terms of purpose and is quantitative in terms of data collection. In order to collect the data, a questionnaire was designed that contained the variables of the conceptual model of the research. This questionnaire was distributed among industrial and academic experts in the Iranian food industry. The method of data collection is an online cross-sectional survey, and the method of data analysis is structural equation modeling using Smart PLS software to analyze the conceptual model.
Findings
The present study is cross-sectional survey research that examines the impact of KMC, EC and EI on firm performance by considering the mediating role of organizational ambidexterity. The research study shows a positive impact of entrepreneurial capabilities as KMC, EI, EC and ambidexterity on performance. Accordingly, if a firm builds KMC and fosters EC, it can achieve ambidextrous innovation and thus enhance its EI and performance in the food industry.
Research limitations/implications
This study highlights the knowledge-based view (KBV) in explaining the role of KMC on innovative capabilities and its influence on performance. Research findings shed light on the importance of KMC as a prerequisite for innovation strategy. The study has also established the mediating role of ambidexterity in entrepreneurial value creation. According to the results, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)' performance is positively influenced by entrepreneurial capabilities as KMC, EI, EC and ambidexterity.
Originality/value
This paper gives insights into how SMEs can improve their performance to gain a competitive advantage by developing knowledge and creative ideas in line with entrepreneurial goals. In this regard, the food industry can adopt new strategies to reduce the impact of these challenges to achieve superior performance and competitive advantage.

Abstract
Purpose
Tech start-ups (TSs) functioning in different domains have a responsibility of ensuring that domestic knowledge and capabilities are leveraged to minimize dependence on foreign organizations. Despite the growth of the ecosystem, while numerous TSs emerge, very few of them are able to survive, and of those that survive, very few scale up. The aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing the competitiveness of technological start-ups and to study the interrelationship and interdependence of these factors.
Design/methodology/approach
Modified total interpretative structural modeling (m-TISM) was employed for the current research. The analysis of what factors have an effect on competitiveness, how they affect it and why they affect it should be explored. The study begins by developing the list of factors through literature search, and further it is validated by expert opinion. A hierarchical model has been developed using m-TISM and MICMAC analysis to analyze the driving and dependency power of factors at each level.
Findings
Results show that the competitiveness of TSs is affected by organizational agility and internationalization. Factors present at the bottom level, namely entrepreneurial intensity, act as a strong driver for TSs. Team member commitment, transformational leadership, strategic alliances, knowledge sharing and organizational ambidexterity are middle-level factors.
Originality/value
This study is among the few articles that have explored competitiveness of TSs in the Indian context.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aimed to investigate the process of nominalization in English, German, and Indonesian, utilizing a contrastive analysis approach, and to apply the findings to teaching English to Indonesian learners of German.
Design/methodology/approach
This mixed-method study used an exploratory sequential design. The qualitative method used contrastive analysis to focus on the nominalization process in English, Indonesian, and German, and the quantitative method assessed student responses related to the developed English teaching material.
Findings
The study found similarities and differences in the nominalization process between the languages, with nominalization occurring by adding various affixations. Most students considered the learning materials developed based on the findings of contrastive analysis to help understand the nominalization process in English.
Practical implications
The study’s findings hold significant implications for the global application of foreign language teaching, particularly in English as the first foreign language (FL1) or as the second foreign language (FL2). The research suggests that an effective method of teaching English grammar involves providing examples equivalent to those used in the learner’s first language or other languages. These results may contribute to developing pedagogical practices and enhancing language learners' proficiency in FL1 and FL2 contexts.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the existing literature by comparing the nominalization process in German, Indonesian, and English and explaining how the results of contrastive analysis can be applied in teaching English to Indonesian students majoring in German.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to examine the impacts of board chairman characteristics on the decision to finance with debts.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on historical data from 173 active nonfinancial firms listed on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Stock Exchange Markets during 2012–2019, this research uses ordinary least squares (OLS) and dynamic system-generalized methods of moments to test its hypotheses. The final dataset comprises 1,384 firm-year observations from 10 major nonfinancial industry classifications.
Findings
Results indicate a negative impact of board chairman ownership on the decision to finance with retained earnings (RE). Negative effects of the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) from the same family on the decision to finance with RE, whereas positive effects of the chairman and CEO from the same family on the decision to finance with debts are observed. In addition, a negative effect of the chairman from a royal family on the decision to invest with debts is found.
Research limitations/implications
Many board chairmen characteristics, such as age, gender, experience, education level, periodic change and ethnicity, are unaddressed. Financial decisions (FDs) are also limited to two decisions (internal financing with RE and external financing with debts).
Practical implications
Findings of this study provide an improved understanding of the role of chairman characteristics in FDs in GCC. Investors and lenders dealing with companies in GCC markets benefit from the authors' results because of the effects of chairman characteristics on FDs when making investment decisions in company stocks.
Originality/value
The study clarifies how each of the three board chairman characteristics (i.e. chairman ownership, chairman and CEO from the same family and the chairman from the royal family) affects FDs, especially the decisions to finance with debts and RE.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the influence of innovation in entrepreneurial activities and job creation, examine the influence of innovation in entrepreneurial activities on jobs creation and investigate the moderating influence of entrepreneurial characteristics between entrepreneurial activity, innovation and job creation.
Design/methodology/approach
The data was collected from Oman Global Entrepreneurship Monitor data 2020. Sample of 2,000 individuals was involved in entrepreneurial activities. SPSS and PLS software were used to test the structural model and research hypothesis.
Findings
The results revealed that innovation affects the level of created jobs. Entrepreneurial activity has a significant influence on innovation, jobs created and an indirect effect on jobs created through the mediating influence of innovation. All direct and indirect relationships of entrepreneurial activity and innovation with the expected jobs are insignificant. The findings demonstrate that demographics moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial activity and innovation.
Research limitations/implications
The study outcomes will be useful for policymakers to understand the innovation types in entrepreneurial activities and whether these enterprises can create future jobs.
Practical implications
The findings will help entrepreneurial ecosystems and managers to strengthen their business ventures using innovative business models.
Social implications
This research will provide decision-makers with mechanism on how better business environment will benefit stakeholders.
Originality/value
While this topic is widely investigated in developed countries, little is known about the impact of innovation on entrepreneurial activities in creating jobs in developing countries. This research contributes to entrepreneurship innovation and institutional theory literature by understanding the role of the entrepreneurship conditions framework that support the jobs creation.

Purpose
Considering that the heterogeneity in the composition of deliberation and management bodies can promote a differentiated impact on earnings distribution policies of companies, the purpose of this paper is to examine the marginal influence of female participation on the board of directors and executive board regarding decisions associated with dividend policy in companies operating in Brazil.
Design/methodology/approach
The sample is composed of non-financial companies listed on the B3 Stock Exchange between 2010 and 2015, which encompasses 261 companies (1,084 observations per year). The tests aim at explaining the probability of earnings distribution and the payout level of companies through variables that measure the female presence – considering that the explanatory economic attributes of decisions over dividends are kept under control. The econometric analysis was carried out through the descriptive analysis of the variables and LOGIT and TOBIT tests of inference estimated with fixed effects and meeting all econometric requirements.
Findings
The proportion of women in both deliberative and executive bodies affects marginally the dividend policy of Brazilian companies. The female presence in management bodies contributes to a higher probability of earnings distribution and increase in the payout level; such tendency is moderated when women are in the board of directors; so, we do not reject the hypothesis of female influence on dividend policy decisions in Brazil.
Originality/value
One can find such investigations in foreign environments, but such tests had not been accomplished in Brazil so far. We discuss, therefore, in an unprecedented way, the heterogeneity in deliberative (governance) and executive (management) bodies and its outcomes in strategic decisions made in Brazilian companies, focusing on the female insertion and on fundamental decisions that are related to the relationship among stakeholders, which is the dividend policy per se.
