Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to use TripAdvisor data to identify which themes and events will attract more interest in the future of tourism activities and to provide guidance to the industry accordingly.
Design/methodology/approach
This study used qualitative case study approach. To identify key themes in the top-rated activities, thematic analysis of user-generated content was conducted through MAXQDA 2020 Analytics Pro software.
Findings
The findings of this study indicate a growing trend in tourist preferences, with a notable increase in the popularity of wellness activities such as spa treatments and yoga retreats. Tourists also highly prefer cultural experiences like local festivals and historical tours, adventure activities such as hiking and water sports, and food-related activities like cooking classes and wine tastings. There is a significant trend towards sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism activities. These results underscore the need to cater to diverse tourist interests in developing future tourism offerings.
Practical implications
Developing innovative events, using data-driven marketing strategies, involving local communities, and catering to diverse preferences can enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the tourism sector.
Social implications
Understanding tourists' tendencies towards cultural, adventurous and sustainable experiences helps tourism operators and managers to create offers that satisfy tourists while promoting environmentally friendly practices. This shift promotes cultural preservation, environmental protection and community involvement.
Originality/value
This study uniquely analyzes top-rated TripAdvisor activities to identify key trends in tourist preferences, highlighting the growing demand for cultural, adventurous, gastronomic, and sustainable tourism.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to apply the developed systematic mechanical design methodologies, that are obtained in part I, to investigate their success in designing mechanics of a flexible printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) rework cell.
Design/methodology/approach
The decision of soldering and desoldering tool, which is the most critical function of a PCBA rework or remanufacturing cell, significantly influences overall design concept. Therefore, the paper starts by applying the design methodology to the soldering and desoldering function. The same study is repeated for the rest of the sub‐functions but only the results are provided.
Findings
An application of rework machine design methodology for the design of a PCBA rework cell has been made available. In addition to this, the embedded knowledge, such as the requirements list, the function structure, the function/means tree, the weighted objective tree and evaluation chart for the soldering and desoldering function are provided.
Practical implications
The paper is the first work providing both embedded knowledge and the application of the systematic design methodology for the design of a fully automated flexible PCBA rework cell. The methodology leads rework machine designers in a well‐controlled and structured design environment.
Originality/value
The design methodology can be applied to all functions or targeted on key weighted areas to ensure that the designed rework machine meets the key areas of concerns. Furthermore, the methodology is generic and may be used to develop other complex manufacturing sytems.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this article is to deepen understanding of how emotional intelligence (EI) and artificial intelligence (AI) affect organizational behavior from a phenomenological perspective. Through philosophical lenses – particularly Descartes, Husserl and Merleau-Ponty – it highlights the contrasts and similarities between these forms of intelligence. The study aims to explore how AI and EI shape human experience and meaning-making in organizations, providing insights into how AI integration can foster more human-centered organizational practices.
Design/methodology/approach
This study employs a phenomenological approach to explore the philosophical underpinnings of EI and AI. By examining Descartes’ Cartesian dualism and Husserl’s phenomenology, the study analyzes the alignment and divergence between AI and these philosophical perspectives. The methodology integrates literature review and conceptual analysis to link philosophical insights with their organizational behavior implications, offering a framework that critically examines AI’s impact on human experience and organizational dynamics.
Findings
The findings highlight that emotional intelligence, rooted in the body-mind interaction, offers a human-centered view of experience, distinct from artificial intelligence. However, combining AI with EI can enhance organizational behavior by promoting more empathetic approaches. While AI can mimic cognitive functions, it lacks the embodied emotional experiences essential for human interaction. This insight emphasizes the need for AI systems to support, rather than disrupt, organizational meaning-making processes.
Originality/value
This article offers an original interdisciplinary perspective, merging phenomenological philosophy with organizational behavior. By examining emotional and artificial intelligence through Descartes, Husserl and Merleau-Ponty, the study presents fresh insights into AI design that prioritizes human-centered development. It contributes to AI ethics and organizational behavior literature by emphasizing the role of emotional intelligence in guiding AI integration within organizational contexts.
